This is the most clear and concise tutorial for this repair method I have seen. Thank you. Could you tell me, is the plastic mesh one of your products? If not, could you give me an idea as to what to look for? Thanks again, Matt
Hi Matt, so glad you enjoyed the tutorial! The grid is not something we carry but you can find these at your local craft stores or online. A Google search for: Plastic Mesh Canvas Sheets should give you the result you need!
Perfect! and why did I not think of a plastic grid?!! I just did the crosses on another project and this would have saved me a lot of grief! Thank you for this.
I have a pair of light coloured jeans that aren't torn but have a stain that I cannot get rid of. Should I just sashiko over or cut out the stain and sashiko a patch?
Great video but you did not show us the process of using the pen to mark the grid.. that is where I run into difficulty using any template. For me, it's so tedious I usually give up and that is saying a lot because I am ridiculously patient and tenacious. Please do a video of marking fabric using the template??
Has anyone ever done this to the inner thigh of your jeans? I never get holes in jeans before I get holes in the inner thigh, but would like to try this technique out... Seems like it might be uncomfortable, but I'm still curious lol.
Totally doable, but Id suggest that it would look kinda provocative. Which is okay, if thats the look you've going for. I, myself, just use simple stitch when patching holes like this, stretching fabric while stitching. But i wasnt blessed with full bottom so all jeans on me kinda bundle in those regions anyway and hide any kind of repairs naturally.
Where do I actually get a flexible plastic grid like this? You link literally every other thing to buy in this video Except the thing that makes the stitches even!
They just used plastic canvas for their template. You should be able to find it in the craft section of your local Walmart, any craft store and of coarse online (but I'd recommend buying it the brick and mortar route because to buy it online is usually overpriced.)
This is the first time i have ever seen plastic canvas used for sashiko. Utterly brilliant!
So clear and great tips about the glue stick and grid pattern!💙💛💙!
my heart was beating this along my feet. So good.

@@cloverusa Great, I'll have a look. Thank you so much.
@@cloverusa, what count is the mesh plastic canvas that's used in this video?
@@cheose One size fits all, there is no count advertised

So glad this look is popular. I’ve got 3 pair of recently ripped pants! Now to watch the Sashiko tutorial. =)
Good luck!

@margo____ Are we the only two that don't get how the plastic canvas mesh pattern was transferred to the denim?
@@emihayashi7725 Poke the pen through the grid holes to make the dots.
What a TERRIFIC technique - thank you! 👏🥰
Thank you for watching! Glad you enjoyed this tutorial.
Please do a tutorial on that flower!!
Oooooooh this is perfect!! How did you do the flower on the other leg??
Do you put a patch behind the stitching if there is no hole to mend?
Exactly the help I needed! Thank you!
You're welcome!
Love it!!! The lime green and raspberry fabric is a wonderful addition to the jeans. Thank you for the grid idea for straight line stitching .
Looks great.
This is stunning but is the patch fabric the same weight/strength as the denim? If not, will it survive?
Cheat code for the crosses! Is there one for the fishing net?
I love this. How long did it take from beginning to end
I have a small hole in a favorite pair of jeans. I will be doing this. Thanks!
You didn't mention the type/size of needle used to do the actual sashiko thread design!!

Where can I get the grid thing to make the dots?
Finish the edges?
Thank you so much. I am going to try this!!
Have fun!
Where did you get the rubber grid? Can not locate it.
Search for "Plastic Canvas"

For sale??

А где можно взять такую сеточку?
Действительно.
Hate red nails, web so much better clean and natural.
Tip. The music is so annoying. Difficult to watch the video to the end. I am giving up right now. Don’t bother to see the video any longer
You can turn the sound off.
Just turn the sound down, duh.
This looks so cool! I’m about to absolutely ruin my jeans but thanks for showing me how to get half way there 😂 🦾
