What do you think of William Adams’ life? Would you have made the same choice?

    Thank you for your video.
William Adams had really a surprising but also very sad life...he was basically a high ranked prisoner until the end of his life, left behind him his first family...very bitter taste after hearing all that...
The Disney remake of this year is good but I will watch the 1980 original version, it looks colorful and also more accurate.
Also Richard Chamberlain looks perfect as William Adams/Blackthorne.

A sad life indeed, but at least he had the opportunity to remarry and send money to his wife back home. Thank you for sharing your opinion. 😊

I wonder, how did Japanese and Portugalese people understood each other? How could they even learn if they didn’t have a common language? Who was the first person that understood both languages? I would love to know how it actually was..

The actor playing John Blackthorne, yes, but I don't blame him, I think the script he was given was overdramatic, like when he tried to lured Ishido's men away from looking in the cart where Lord Toranaga is or when he found out that the gardener Uejiro died because of him... I find the rest of the casts pretty good!
