You were made to be prayed to. For you are a saint in a stained glass window. You weren't corrupted. You tell the truth and you face being butchered? - I've had such a hard time, I've been waiting my turn since the wretched day I was born.I've had such a hard time, I should not exist. You'll never find my trace on lover's lips. - You were made to be prayed to. For you are a saint in a stained glass window.I call on your mercy, for you have a soul that can not be bought with money. I've had such a hard time, I've been waiting my turn. I'll be nobody 'till the day I burn. So, don't pick on me, I know nothing comes next. And now I'm too drained to protest. - Oh, Jesus let me die. Don't torture me more. I set my sights no higher than this hardwood floor. - Oh, Jesus let me die. I can't do this anymore. Give me rest.I'm too drained to protest. Oh, give me rest,Give me rest...Give me rest...Give me rest...Give me rest...
❤ Ohhhhh…but these lyrics are so wonderful. There are so many songs written by Steven Patrick Morrissey…and I love them all so very much …But every now and then my most cherished and charming friend releases a song with lyrics like these…And just when I think I couldn’t possibly love him any more than I already do…I feel my heart skip a beat and i realize how lucky I am to live in a world where there is a Morrissey. No matter how alone I feel at times…I can always put something on by Morrissey and take solace knowing there is someone out there who’s mind works quite a bit like my own…and we are both Geminis with Scorpio moons in Scorpio…Wicked Wit with just the right amount of self deprecating silliness and a lovely maudlin cherry on top…The lyrics to this song amuse me beyond any words I am currently trying to summon….I so often feel and think to myself out loud just abt every word and/or phrase that is so eloquently written and sung by my twin soul…I really like this song…Perhaps we shall hear it in Atlanta or Nashville this Fall! ❤thank you for sharing!
This is beautiful poetry from the last rebel of the music world. He is singing his sorrow and he is saying who he is. Morrissey please never leave us your music is still needed on the Earth
I was at the Ontario show, it was great. This tune made me a bit sad.... Morrisey has a way of expressing desperation in his singing. I felt this song 😭.
We've all been there metaphysically, but wish I'd been there physically in Ontario to hear this, glad you've shared it. A perfect sadboi song from the one true saint of self pity.
You were made to be prayed to.
For you are a saint in a stained glass window.
You weren't corrupted.
You tell the truth and you face being butchered?

Goodness me. Exceptionally powerful words. This man is incredible.

Alain Whyte works magical wonders in Morrissey's final stretch! I'm so happy, I'm so happy!'' Viva Mozzer+
This man is amazing, his voice just gets better.Thank you Moz for being in my life

I was there as well and loved this performance. You are right about him expressing emotions.
I cried a little when I heard him sing it live.
this song is about his mother, I think
I love this song so much, it's has a vibe of "I know it's over", the desperation and howl
I‘m calling it, this will be a moz Classic, forever!
yes, yes it will. Viva Moz
Mr. Bungle Fan listening to mozza? 🤔
I'm so glad I got to experience this debut! Front row center, what a treat. Thank you for this revisit!
I was there as well and fell in love with this song. I noticed that when he played it in El Cajon, the intro was different

What a lovely song to play/sing along with!
This one stands out hugely.
Was there :) great tune
Brilliant, hilarious, ironic self pity is the hallmark of this true original and genius musically and lyrically.
Got to love morrissey
Was there. Loved hearing this. Was so mesmorized. Ⓜ💙Ⓜ💙Ⓜ💙Ⓜ💙Ⓜ💙Ⓜ💙
I was at the show last night too
goosebumps!!
Love it 💔
Reminds me a bit of Cosmic Dancer in places.
I was at the show last night and at first I thought it was cosmic dancer
Yup 👍
Reminds me of Free Bird by Lynrd Skynrd too
Nothing comes next - put that on his/my headstone
Thanks...❤Moz❤
I want to be able to buy this and play it loud out the car window.
Tune
His new album re-released with backup gospel singers and the L.A. philharmonic directed by Gustavo!
3:38 me right now. I haven’t slept at all last night.
This song reminds me of Sinead
3:38 Me last night
Wears its Bowie influence like cuff links.
Except Bowie didn't sound as much like an angel, much as I liked him
Bowie didn't have nearly the same depth of soul as Morrissey does.
Moz sings better.
No oasis without the smiths😀😄😉😆.
3:38 God recently gave Andy rest.
