Marlborough Sounds Crayfish and Scallops 2011

Opening weekend of the challenger scallop season. Some good mid winter diving. Managed to get a good haul of scallops, few crays and some fish. The crays shown here are in berry so just had a play with them.

How many do you need? I'm 33 and I grew up in the sounds and there isn't much left eh.. A dozen each is enough?

yes it tickles when i pee, there is a difference between crayfish and lobster, but its only with name where it differs in different parts of the world, those are actually spiny lobsters, and crayfish are usually the fresh water versions, but in the southern hemisphere they call lobsters-crayfish and they call crayfish-yabbies, if im not mistaken

Fresh water crays are called yabbies n Oz and Koura in NZ/.

Lobsters have large cheliped/claws and crays don't.
