Something else that I love about this superboy is that he fights exactly how he should. He launches himself like a missile, swings with his entire body, and just uses a ton of heavy power opposed to just being a brawler
And even better, as time goes on, he starts being smarter against opponents in his weight class. In season 4 he straight up outskills Bedlam in their little skirmish
I hate how no one ever talk about how weak he is.
Ah yes, Superboy has learned to socialize so quickly after so many things he went through. Just to show how amazing he is.

I mean it makes sense in the beginning when his main strategy is to jump at his enemy and punch them while screaming like a madman. Even later on, he is the most up close fighter, so of course he gets knocked around.
@@lunarunity7122 sure at the start of the series it makes sense. He’s basically just a rage monster at that point. But after he’s gotten better control of himself and even learned CQC from Black Canary and the others (basically, the last bit of season 1 onward) there’s no excuse for him to still be such a pushover in every fight he’s in. The only times it seemed like he was actually winning was when he was using the shields Luthor gave him.

@@Giel1450 the thing is, we know why superboy doesn't have full kryptonian powers, it's been confirmed that it's because he's half human, and if the case was that he was too physically young then lex shields wouldn't have worked. Plus match did have full powers and tbf lex just wouldn't stop the growth at the stage he did if Conor being older would mean full powers
istg it was at all of those points where i thought he was gonna start flying.
but i think it's because he was broken out of that capsule when they first found him why he doesn't have all the kryptonian abilities, and that if he had gone through the entire process properly, then he'd have all the powers
They should have went in that direction with his development but they ruined it. Every other Superboy incarnation is better. They've all got better abilities and actually legitimate reasons as to why they didn't have all their respective abilities at first. Him being half kryptonian wasn't a good reason to not give him the other abilities. For instance, two of the Superboy's I've mentioned are half Kryptonian and have the other abilities.
Superboy's point was true, no matter how many times he falls, if this match continues at the end of the day Canary is the one who gets tired first and superboy will still remain with more stamina.

in fairness he was freed early and i feel like indoctrination (the things he learnt were basic knowledge intended to be the foundation of his indoctrination and worldview - intelligent loyal is better than mindless loyal) makes more sense to do first before providing combat training e.g. in case he escapes - a weaker weapon that you can control is better than one you cannot.

Despite the L, aqualad going to toe-to-toe with superboy like that was very satisfying. It makes sense that atlanteans have advanced combat skills; I do believe the amount of action was rather lackluster after the show left Cartoon Network
Currently finishing season 3 & the character development has really progressed since season 1 for superboy he’s not angry anymore & is more happy

As much as i like the lesson that canary was trying to teach superboy. There is NO amount of technique that can save you when that amount of raw strength and power is involved.

Don't hate me for the truth, Superboy is definitely awesome and one of my favorite characters however, it seems he gets beaten up more than he beats up others.
Mainly because he's one of the few people who can actually take the damage the enemy dishes out without being too hindered. Though I do wish he didn't get hit so often.
@@milicenty I get that, being half Kryptonian gives the writers some liberties that isn't really seen with the other characters. I just wish he got something similar to the shields again. He definitely went into mega rage mode with the shields but it also boosted his Kryptonian powers and just made him look like a force to be reckoned with.

Dc loves doing this. I can see Superman does this because he constantly relaxing. He was born and raise of earth. So he naturally adapted his strength to do mundane thing like making coffe and open doors without breaking everything he touches.
But superpower character get knocked by human in combat doesn't make sense. They tank literal building.
I'll always find it funny that Wally first pines over Megan and Artemis fawns over Superboy. But then Connor gets with M'gann so Wally and Artemis settle for each other.

Having only have the utility aspects of Superman and is slightly weaker makes him honestly feel like he has skills that benefit his tactical spy like characteristics. Unlike Superman who is just the trump card.
