    Thank you so much for this video. I am a crossfit enthusiast, and im the only one in my class that cant do kipping Pullups. I understand now that i need to increase my baseline strict pullup strength while continuing to work on my kip technique.

    Hey Ben, I’ve watching you for a few years now and have practiced your techniques but have been out of CrossFit for a year and a half but have recently come back. I remembered to jump into the hollow which gives me my first but went back to my drop straight down like I used to. I’ve been keeping up with my strict pull ups at home 5 sets of 6 (I put on a weighted vest for the 2nd set for 5 reps).
    Last Friday part of the WOD was 20 pull ups and later there were 12 more. I did strict in groups and got down to 1 at a time, in context of the push-ups, snatch cleans, wall balls etc., it was a brute. On the 12 reps I kipped one at a time or two. As I was doing that I thought of the past videos I’d seen you do and was going to be prepared next time and here you are going over it again. I do have those grips and have used them for years. I’m 65 and my hands would have been a bloody mess without them. I think I was the only one wearing them. You and Jesse are some of the best coaching I’ve gotten. Keep up the good work. I’ll be ready next time. CrossFit is the best form of Elder Abuse there is!

    Nothing about these shitty pullups is good. bad for the joints and does not really build your back....

      @@GORILLA_PIMPIt’s higher volume pull-ups, the short answer is that it promotes more mobility and endurance
      The long answer is that it produces more work, which by scientific definition is force * distance, in which Kipling pull-ups as a full-body movement makes you produce more force to achieve more distance
      In truth, while kipping pull-ups are more athletic and full-body, they’re only as important as normal strict pull-ups that isolate the lats/other muscle groups more in order to produce more strength and muscle
