Another excellent video, there is a lot of tractor drivers who needs to watch this and learn from it, a bit of care , politeness and courtesy goes a long way when your driving a large vehicle and everyone gets along fine then, cheers George.
Us Americans are amazed because people over here don’t have time to look out for farm equipment. We always just seem to be in their way. As always enjoy the videos brother.
I’ve got back into Farm Sim recently playing that Ballyspring map. Great map, very natural feeling. The size of the lanes and farms keeps you in check with machinery. You have to run smaller gear and do the jobs yourself.
Loved the whole ride. Absolutely lovely to see the real rural British country side. I always enjoy the real life farming and FS vids, but this was real nice. Good work!
Spot on George ,folks can't understand about needing room to pass they think a tractor can just magic a space ,like you say we have to read the road and plan ahead
Driving a 2/3000 series Fastrac on the road with a loaded trailer is a pleasure to behold. Getting the gear changes just right, especially going up a hill and knowing which gears to leave out (all of 5th, going from 6L to 4M) on the down-changes becomes an art, depending on the weight of the entire rig. Yes it is much easier on a NH type Powershift, but not half as much fun. With a really heavy load I tend to dip the clutch when up shifting on a splitter, to prevent a sudden jot and prolong the life of the gear-train.
This Highlights country folks understanding Vs Townies. not all of either are tarred with the same brush. Good to see You still putting content out, George.
hey George hello from michigan. yesterday we had 52 degrees , today 28 degrees & 6" of snow. I was born & raised in south yorks & the last time I came over I rented a car. I had to change my pants after driving on those narrow roads, never again will I drive over there. have a good day & stay safe
Always enjoy the videos thru the country side. We just don't have those narrow one across the pond. Especially enjoyed yours and Denos old videos of moving equipment around. Thanks
Hey George love your video, and keep up the good work. Love the road trip in the fastrac and love the views as well. When your driving a vehicle like your fastrac and your 32ft tralier its always good to have manners and give respect to other road users, cause then they will respect you back. Keep up the good work George 👍👍.
i love driving the A1 but when the A1 was shut last week with the truck crash i joined the A15 at Peterborough drove up to the M180. some stunning scenery.
Bloody good fastrac George !! She’s very nice indeed !! I used to have a 3155 and loved it every time I was in it !! They are great machines on the road and in the field !! People used to kind of slag them off but once they had a shot and seen them perform it was always oh they are really good tractors !! Haha !! Great video !! 💛💪🏻💪🏻
I remember one of your older videos with Jwb and that lorry driver had to reverse quite a way to let you pass I think you had a baker and quad pack on the back he got a bit aggressive with his driving and when you passed he got funny as well
Love this format of video, super relaxing and chill. I always have massive respect for polite considerate drivers like yourself, Fastrac running like clockwork love to see it.
Boy we got it easy in Saskatchewan, Canada when it comes to moving equipment if we need to bypass a town/village we just go around it on the grid roads if possible
Hello George from Eden New York 👋 Things are going okay here . Was 19 degrees this morning but supposed to be in the 50s later this week. Probably another late planting year when things dry up. Hopefully making hay at the end of May. Thanks for the entertainment and showing us what it's like farming in the UK. . I also love farm simulator 22 when im not farming in real life. I even have a Saunders Farm map .Cheers 🍻
Oh just don't George get me started on people giving way or having any form of common courtesy, I'm not driving a tractor or lorry, but a LWB van through tight roads and lanes around my work. People are just so impatient the amount of times the mirror has gone because I've had to get over because they couldn't be bothered to slow up let alone pull over! We've all got to get somewhere, having courtesy and slowing up at least, preferably pulling over to the larger vehicle doesn't cost much! And as for reversing with mirror, can't bet it, but then again some get in a mess just reversing! lol I'm sure you've seen that many times too! Great video as always George ta ta! Till the next one.
@@GeorgeSaunders probably worse down here in the South/South East. Even more so with their Chelsea tractors 😂 and hats off to those guys in London! I hate driving in that city🫣🤯🤯🤯 give me a country road any day off the week! 👍
That sure was an awesome video George, brilliant ride along in the cab with you. (Reminded me very much of your earlier JWB straw carting vids, which were always very interesting 😊🚜👏) Some wonderful countryside up there, and much less traffic than we have down here in the Medway towns area of Kent..
Hi George you well? Nice trip it’s nice to be up high to see all the country side, It’s been a good long trip I can’t get out so much these days getting to old so I look forward to some of your longer trips but then I like all your videos ✅. You take care of yourself and stay safe.🚜🚜⭐️⭐️👍👍
I’m a professional truck driver of 45 yrs been down Pakistan Middle East Russia Mongolia and wherever I go I still get arxxholes pulling out on a big rig cos wherever they’re going they want to be there yesterday
I agree the roundabout at Biggleswade has to be one of the worst on any road especially heading south on the A1. Great video George watched the whole time, travelled those roads a good few times myself.
I dread this time of year at the farm I work at as we have to transport pallets of compost stacked 8 foot high and over a ton each into the polytunnel fields. Always gets my arse twitching on the roads 😅
Absolutely banging video George 😊... I agree with everything you said... seems to be tail gating at the mo seems to be an issue it keeps happening yo me
Great video George have you ever considered using a grain trailer to move bags than you wouldn’t need to strap and if they split then they are contained? Great video though
Another good vid there George and on the subject of electric vehicles, I'd reckon they would be alright for urban or city run arounds but otherwise they wouldn't be great for long distance but with this being said manufacturers are now doing a U-Turn on battery power and either developing hybrids or continuing with combustion engines. Could probably see hydrogen power being a thing at some point in the future maybe as a substitute to battery though and I am sure there might be a few manufacturers who're either looking into or are already developing prototypes.
What mount are you using for your CHCNav Screen, just bought a 3230 and I’ll be moving my CHC over next Friday! Also any tips for getting loom into cab?
Watched the whole video! It is interesting to see the country lanes and stuff for someone not from the UK. Those hedges do look nice but i don't see why you bother with them really 🤣For a country hell bent on Health and Safety it's amazing that they still are allowed to exist, with obscuring views ahead and all that.
A bit of old school Saunders! Enjoyed that ride but when will you admit you paid the first lot of drivers 🤪😆. Definitely seems to help if you can roll some coal on single lanes, people seem to move out the way quicker🤣
@@GeorgeSaunders Thanks mate! Looking to change our 7800 Deere to something yellow. You have driven most models over the years . What models would you lean towards. Ideally it Needs to be a pre 2012 machine to fit the budget.
Some nice looking scenery. Thanks for the ride along. But I did have a few questions. Why not have side boards on your trailer to keep stuff from sliding off? Would it not be easier to have a truck and trailer instead of putting so many miles on your tractor?
I think the big difference between us here in England & rural Farming America is all our public highways are paved roads whereas out in America they still have a lot of gravel roads which are much cheaper to lay & maintain than our roads. On the exhaust brake issue, could you not retro fit that from an older DAF LF 45 that had the 6BT ?
Hey George, I just got recommended the video where you test that cheap saw "hawksmore" I think it was called can't remember the spelling, just wondered if there was any update on it or if I've missed them on FB or something, Anyway, a perfect vid to have a cuppa tea with.
I have done an update on it probably nearly a year ago, I'll probably do another update when we get the saws out again. It's still running perfectly and hasn't gone wrong yet!
My big question to you George, having watched more of this video is when you pull up right behind the vehicle in front of you in traffic, what’s your plan to get around it if it breaks down ? Electric vehicles only make sense if you only travel within the range of the battery & you can recharge when the vehicle is not in use. 31:30 shame they hadn’t done what you are talking about with the Francis Scott Key bridge in Baltimore ! No protection from impact at all.
Thanks for taking us along on your road trip. A good lesson in careful & considerate driving too.

That's been there since I've had it.
Can you fit an after market engine brake system on Cummins engines ?

Hi George.
What is the difference between a fastrac 3170 and a 3220 if any other than hp?

Hey man I’m from over the pond in Alabama in the USA what’s up with the white squiggly lines on the road
I think you mean the shallow Zig Zag lines you see near pedestrian crossings.
They mean no parking overtaking or filtering of traffic.
