Spiders on the Loose: Students will love this easy piece which portrays spiders insidiously creeping and crawling up their arms, represented by eighth notes. Each section gets to play the exciting melody and develop their skills in the key of e minor, including low C-naturals. Please observe the crescendo starting at m.15 as the spiders crawl up the arm and reach the neck! (Screaming at m. 17 is permitted with the forte!) Students can make up their own spider story to go with the music as they interpret it. This is a great piece for reinforcing counting and playing eighth notes evenly. Have fun with it!
