The reason Saitama didn’t do anything for most of the fight was because he wanted to give boros the final fight that he wanted
Basically that’s how he wishes to go out as well, giving it his all in a battle. But even though he probably will never be able to do that at least he gave a good final fight to boros
I love that Boros still will be a land mark. Not overpowered by anyone else than Saitama. So without Saitama in his way he'd wiped earth clean.
Normally people go up in class after reaching rank 1. So since Amai Mask is class A rank 1 normally people aren't offered the chance to go to class S. With genos they had the information that he helped destroy the house of evolution and that with his test results they allowed him to skip straight to class S
And they only did so because Amai Mask gave his okay as the leader of class A

Boros had a heartbeat scene just like saitama in ep1 during his dream. "You were too strong, the strongest hero, saitama" is not a praise, he is describing his curse

The sphere that cracked was actually the ship core that kept it up. Boros mentioned the power rspeher in episode 11. Boros has natrual regeneration. The glowing thing was his eye not a marbel especially since Boros is not the same species as Melzargard
The only ones who actually aknowledge Saitama's true strength, are the strongest ones. So even though regular people would believe that the monster was too weak rather than realizing that our boi is the real MVP, in the end he's getting credit from the ones who actually matter.
I always like how Boros knows Saitama is the strongest on the planet the SECOND he entered the room, he wasn't fooled for a moment by Saitama's goofy appearance
I have a theory tatsumaki know Saitama is strong since this incident, especially since she know she didn't bring the ship down so that's why she was investigating or maybe waiting for Saitama and also the one that confirms it "I don't need your help" when she was berating Saitama, so she knows Saitama is strong just she doesn't really care lol
Saitama understand boros feeling on fighting everybody but no one can satisfy him hence why saitama let boros attack him until boros strongest attack
when the scene with mellow song and saitama walk away for me that is beautiful and sad...boros already meet a person stronger than him and satisfied because boros fight with all his power thus boros can die peacefully however saitama still searching the energy and adrenaline on fighting that he lost hence the slow and sad walking
Saitama allows each enemy to hit him with everything they've got, to test their strength and see if they have any abilities that could actually hurt him. He only attacks and ends the fight once he thinks he's seen everything they can do, and he starts to get bored, or occasionally if he thinks others will get hurt if they continue, like he did here. Carnage Kabuto did the same thing, swatting him around the room, and Saitama allows it because none of the attacks are hurting him at all. He's not actually getting beaten up.
Just a few clarifications:
1. Boros didn't have any marbles in him. The shiny thing was his eye, focusing energy to regenerate.
2. Boros died after using up all his energy.
3. The 'marble' thing that breaks after Saitama's punch was the ship's core crystal ball. It is connected to Boros' life. That is why the ship started crashing.
4. When they show the 'Strongest Hero', it is shown as a sad curse rather than a compliment, the first time the title is used like that.
3:42 The guy who said he couldn't get on the spaceship is King (rank 7). That guy is Tanktop Master (rank 14).
And while ranks can be indicative of power, they aren't absolute, with Saitama being the best example of it. That's why King is regarded as the strongest man, despite being "only" rank 7. Also why Amai Mask is confident he could take on some S class Heroes.
Ranks are given based on recorded feats, not power alone.
I honestly don't think they really pay attention.
@@Hot.dorito The S class all get introduced pretty quickly in episode 10, and at that point we don’t know yet which ones will stay relevant.
It's fine to mistake them when they've had like 30 seconds of screen time.

Amai Mask/Sweet Mask is also apart of the Hero Association hero ranking evaluation staff. As he told Genos earlier in the show, he believed hero’s should be swift, strong, and beautiful when pursuing justice which is why he liked Genos when he destroyed the lab.

he knew what it felt like being the strongest and there is no one strong enough to fight you so he made it entertaining for boros
Saitama held back so much if u rewatch the fight he is always dodging, whenever he hit boros gets hurt. I think saitama did this because he wanted to give himself a fight and fulfill boros's wish to go all out and even lied to boros in his last moment that fight was well fought to satisfy his dream. And also i dont think that serious punch was his final move at all.
Well of course he was holding back, but he’s always holding back, we will likely never see saitamas full power because it is likely infinite, it grows to suit the occasion

Amai mask is S class level but as he said he stays in A class to gatekeep anyone from just joining the he S class.
As for the ship it was not Tatsumaki that made it fall. Saitama made it list on its side when he landed back from the moon and he broke the power sphere that kept the ship afloat when he did his serious punch
Also Tatuamaki is 28 years old.
Tatsumaki and Fubuki did also mature up alot of boys in their days XD
metal bat is class S, he might've been recruited straight into class S (like Genos was), or maybe he was made class S before Amai Mask was made class A rank 1 (maybe even before Amai Mask became a hero?); Amai's basically saying he would never let anyone like Metal Bat into class S now, which is really dumb because Metal Bat is great when you see more of him, Amai Mask just has a very warped view of the world
There's no denying that Amai Mask is EXTREMELY strong though, but I won't do manga spoilers here, so all I will say is that you will be surprised when you finally see him fight for real when no one else is around to see him unleashed, except for the monster he's fighting...
Can you give a description of how strong amai mask is? Like his feats and all that you were discussing above. I dont read the manga and im way too impatient to wait for the new season to kick in so can you?
In the original webcomic he held his own under pressure from 2 threat level dragons at the same time. Atomic Samurai even states that he's surprised Amai Mask has strength for S class.
Furthermore, using his true power he was able to single handedly defeat a different dragon level threat. Something Metal Bat hasn't shown yet.
I think it's really original for a series to show how impossible the dream of the MC is so early. It's like showing a few chapters early that Naruto can't be hokage or it's impossible for Luffy to find One Piece. OPM gave Saitama one of the strongest character they can face off against him, an alien with OP regeneration, strength, speed and energy strong enough to destroy the planet and he wasn't even close to making Saitama go all out. At the same time making you wonder what kind of opponent can top that and fight Saitama next?

I would recommend watching other one punch man animated shorts by Mad house studios, before going onto season 2.
They are nice, shorter episodes, more emphasis on humor or backstory, that really help flesh out, and make the characters even more likable.
I believe they are called OVAs
A lot of people like watching them, and I think you would enjoy them, before hopping over to season 2.

Something that not a lot of reactors realise about this episode is the intention of that final confrontation with Saitama and Boros, Saitama lied to Boros as he agreed that “the battle was hard-fought” to give Boros the satisfaction of a proper fight, satisfaction that Saitama can never obtain, and see, Saitama is depressed throughout the series because no one on EARTH can put up a good fight, now he’s had someone who’s travelled the universe trying to find a worthy opponent and found none, and yet Saitama beat him so now Saitama knows that not only is there no one on Earth who can put up a good fight, but that there’s no one in the universe who can put up a good fight and this makes Saitama even more depressed, hence his blank look as he walks away from Boros with the sad music
So I’ve been seeing quite a few comments warning you or even seemingly discouraging you about watching S2 and while I’d certainly agree there’s some merit to those comments, as it is a step down from S1. I also feel it’s definitely worth noting that it mainly gets that bad rep simply due to S1 being SO MUCH to live up to…. Like for instance, if you were to look at S2 as a standalone (so without comparing it to S1).. then it’d definitely hold up when compared to a lot of the other top anime of today. So S2 shouldn’t be taken as it being bad by any means. So just in case it might’ve, then I’d try not let it possibly discourage you from watching it and/or appreciating it for what it is.
I loved the subtle contrast between Boros and Saitama. In the 1st episode Saitama felt a surge of fulfilment in his dreams when he could go all out and in the final episode Boros felt the said surge in reality. Hopefully, Saitama will one day feel that level of thrill and showcase his full abilities.
Saitama gave Boros what he himself wants but can NEVER get. A good fight. A way to find an equal or greater individual who can understand him.

You guys need to check out the Season 1 OVAs as well - they will fill in some of the back story (like how Saitama got his costume). And THEN watch Season2. Then watch the OVAs for Season 2. :-D
The manga is way beyond Season 2 now .... I hope the do a season 3 anime.

Cyborgs cyborgs… We know Genos is one. Metal Knight is not, he said himself he’s just using remote controlled drones and weapons.
I do suspect Drive Knight could be some sort of cyborg, but we don’t really know.

I know this is an old video but Boros didn't have a marble like the other guy. Boros healing factor was just so good that it could pull his body back together from being split apart
A rule that is always respected is that Genos always ends up with at least one arm torn off at the end of any fight, even those in which he didn't participate lol
Saitama is just a true hero, he sees a little of himself in Boros so he lets himself get punched and thrown around because he knows Boros is searching for that opponent he can go all out on. It’s a sad yet beautiful scene when Saitama walks away and Boros realizes Saitama granted him that wish he longed for yet Saitama is still searching for that opponent.
He let Boros have his fun because he knows exactly how it feels to be too strong. Only when he said he was able to destroy the planet he got serious. Serious punch is him putting in the smallest amount of effort possible.

Saitama's serious punch never landed on Boros. He died just from the air pressure
+ Saitama let Boros go all out on him intentionally. Saitama forgot the thrill of a good fight long time ago. He sees himself in Boros. That's why he atleast granted Boros wishes to come true with such selfless act.
The animators worked overtime because they wanted to make the fights awesome. They may have done some of the extra work without pay because they wanted it to be that good.

I think what drive knight meant was for him to be careful because metal knight might want to take his parts for research, like he did with the ship.

Saitama was holding back on his whole fight with boros (excepts when he used the final punch) because he empathize with him, He's like him who's looking for excitement in a fight because he's too strong
Basically Saitama noticed Boros was really strong and he knew he was like him (bored out of his mind) so he let him rough him up a bit to give him the excitement of a real fight

Saitama could have instantly killed Boros with one punch without even trying. The reason Saitama held back was because Boros wanted a challenging fight for once. Boros literally travlled 20 years to find a challenge so Saitama sympathized with him and gave him the fight he wanted. The show didn't lie to you, Saitama really is the One Punch Man.
Boros is actually supposed to fight Blast but ends up unfortunate to meet Saitama. When Boros receives the prophecy 20 years prior Saitama would've been 5 years old and Blast is supposed to be older.
Saitama is very merciless towards monsters, but pretty merciful towards humans. Since he designated Boros as human, he decided that Boros deserved his final wish fulfilled before his death.
Boros just naturally regenerates he was explaining it to Saitama in his little monologue
Next up I want them to watch K or Guilty Crown feel like they would like both good animation, ost, and pretty good stories. Or classroom or the elite since season 2 just got announced.
Drive Knight, who told Genos that Metal Knight was his enemy, looks like a cyborg too. Maybe Drive Knight is Genos’ true enemy.

It's ironic but the entire point of the fight is that One eye guy won . He wanted to feel the adreline of giving his all again and he did . Saitama lost because he again didn't feel anything.

lol, this whole season was hilarious, definitely the funniest anime i've watched, glad you two enjoyed it so muchhh.
i wouldn't recommend season 2 as much though, but you might enjoy it. It's not a promised neverland situation lol, but it was taken over by a different studio, that changed a lot of the humor/style/action, and then got a lot of hate for it.
I personally didn't like it nearly as much as season 1, but it's definitely not bad.
i like the story in part 2 more as it is less 'monster of the week' feeling and has more of a continuous story aswell as fleshing out the cast more and introducing a cool new character to follow. Its really only the animation that is alot weaker and makes it a litlle dissapointing. but thats also only because the animation in season 1 was so exceptional. when comparing the animation to other anime its about average 5/10
