Ringing of the exceptional bells of Verolanuova, among the best cast in Italy

- The beautiful church dedicated to Saint Lawrence stands in the historical centre of Verolanuova (Brescia). In the early 1900s, the old tower was declared unfit for use; the new bell tower was raised in 1907 to a height of 60 metres. The old five bells were considered too small, so one of the leading musical masters of the time was called in. In 1910, he went to the famous Pruneri foundry to personally design the outline of the new bells, having fallen in love with the bell concert on St Mark's bell tower in Venice.

The concert of nine bells turned out to be perfect, among the best bells ever cast in the world. The weight of the cast concert in 1910 reached a total of 11026 kg. The bells were inaugurated by a native bishop of the village and then hoisted onto the tower. In 1934, one of the bells had to be remoulded due to a crack, resulting in a tuneful but harmonically inferior design to the excellent bells of 1910. The bells were played by string bellringers until 1973. In this video, a musical master is ringing the bells using a computer, according to the traditional concert ringing technique. The eight bells in the scale of A major are only rung for the most solemn festive celebrations.
The new church was built starting in 1633 in fulfilment of a solemn vow made during the plague epidemic that had exterminated most of the Italian population in 1630. The church was inaugurated as early as 1647, a construction perfectly in keeping with the artistic canons dictated by the Council of Trent. The Latin cross plan is punctuated by three altars on each side that continue to the transept, which holds the monumental dome, crowned by an octagonal lantern on which is placed the copper angel, the symbol of the city. The precious inlaid wooden side altars were made in the second half of the 17th century, while the church for a century was filled with exceptional works of art commissioned by the town's nobility. Paintings from the 1700s and frescoes from the 1900s inspired by the Gesù church in Rome make this church one of the most beautiful in northern Italy.

questo canale sforna un capolavoro dietro l'altro... su questo video c'è poco da dire, se non che è una meraviglia. per raggiungere il culmine della meraviglia, direi che in questo canale di concerto ne manca uno, un certo umile concerto in Lab2 fuso dai Bizzozero nel 1825... non dico altro (e non aspetto altro)! :)

@@c-historia Secondo me sarebbe già qualcosa se si facesse una partenza in ascendente. Così il campanone ha più tempo per salire a bicchiere senza che il concerto cominci con il campanone non ancora bloccato
la prossima volta non mancheremo, puoi starne certo 😄
@@c-historiascusa ma non ho capito: si potrebbe ridurre il numero di battute perché la salita possa essere conclusa in meno tempo? Vorrebbe dire che i motori sono regolabili? Credevo che il motore della campana in questione fosse scoppiato perché è troppo il tempo che necessita per concludere la corsa ed arrivare al blocco per la conclusione della salita... possibilmente con lo stesso numero di battute dell'altra ma effettivamente non è possibile perché è troppo pesante: altri concerti non presentano questa imperfezione ed i 2 campanoni concludono la salita con un numero di battute uguale.
dovrebbe essere possibile regolare la salita e la spinta del motore sia a distesa che, come qui si sta parlando, a concerto@@diegosimonealbini8918
