      I'd like to take a stab at answering the question of how the pen is doing. The pen is feeling terrible. Not because he stabbed someone but because the damage he inflicted was minor. "There is a saying that says the pen is mightier than the sword. I am afraid, I proved that adage wrong," the pen confided. "I let a lot of pens down that day. Had I been on par with the sword, there is no doubt my opponent would be completely disarmed right now like a certain Monty Python character screaming "Tis a mere flesh wound" while trying to head butt his opponent."

      My first impression of this guy is that he is 100% about fake-confidence. As things went on, he only proved it more. When he's been bracketed and has no way out, he instantly becomes the biggest chickenshit around. Beta male? Yes, by definition. He's a little bantam chicken, acts all tough and struts when he has 5,000 fellow idiots around him chanting his name. As soon as the tide turns, he's hiding under anything he can and sneaking off in the middle of the night. This guy must've thrown some real bribe money around California to be handled so soft. California has the hardest stalking laws in the country, the DA didn't think to charge him with that? No aggravated assault charges for the many times that he threatened to rape female detractors and shoot detractors? Quite honestly, I'm surprised that no father had just had enough, flew to California, and ended him. Where he lived and bars that he frequented sure weren't a secret.

      They can, not just because women are less sensitive than men to things like body language, facial expressions, voice tone etc but mostly because if an attractive guy is sexist to a women, she is turned on by it rather than angered by it.
      The most sexist guy I know has dated over 70 girls and currently has 4 girlfriends at the same time due to his looks.
      A girl once told me that she wanted a man to take control of her life because she felt that without male guidance, she would make endless bad decisions and destroy her life.
      While not all women are as self evaluating as her, all women do feel that subconsciously which is why an attractive sexist man is so appealing.

    - When his parents bailed him out. I realised that was part of the problem. If my child acted how he did and asked me to bail them out I would tell them absolutely not, and hopefully they learn their lesson.
    - When I was watching this I did not understand why people were fans of his??????? Was it just peer pressure?
    - I couldn't help but feel only in this day and age a guy like him could exist and thrive. I really feel if it was pre internet someone would have just beaten him up, plus he seemed to have no real skills.
    - His gf staying with him for so long and then being upset about what had happened(huh?). The whole point of the website was that it was shared and everyone knew private things. So she knew and didn't care until the downfall?

    When I was a teenager (15 yrs old) I became the victim of a man in his early 20s. I was infatuated with him. I won’t get into the horrible relationship we had, but we did have intercourse. What I didn’t know was that he hid a camera in his room when this happened. I found out when I was at high school and people came up to me and told me the video was shown at a party, by him, and I was mocked horribly. I was horrified. I didn’t know what to do. I confronted him but he acted like it was no big deal. I thought we were in love. One very sad day, months later I told my mom. She patted me on the back and went to bed. Nothing was done about it. I watched the documentary and it killed me for all these victims. I know what this is like. I hope any of the people out there who have been hurt by things like this know that there are people who feel your pain. I don’t know what I’d do if I was confronted with the man who did this to me. All I could do was burry it and move on.

      Nah I don't think they find it unattractive to be attractive. They are very negative about their situation and self perception. And they have a serious problem comparing themselves to others instead of figuring out a way to like and love themselves. Dr Grande's statement about them thinking it's more reasonable to stage a revolution rather than think of themselves as attractive in their own fantasies stood out to me as well and I think that these types of people should consider that. They think it's mainly because of their looks. And while I agree that looks do play a role, I think it has more to do with their attitude and how they make women feel. If they go day in and day out making themselves feel horrible by replaying a negative soundtrack in their head over and over, should we expect them to make a woman feel good or like a woman in a romantic context? That would be very difficult for them to do probably. I've seen videos on Elliott Roger and I've seen a lot of female comments speaking positively on his looks. That dude's mindset was very fucked. They are indeed attracted to attractive females, and yes, I would say they deal with a lot of jealousy on top of everything else. Many variables going on with them, including dealing with being ostracized due to developing sub par social skills, shyness, some of em dealing with autism. The social skills and getting rid of the resentment and bitterness from rejection, having a bit more gratitude for what they are working with could probably help them more than plastic surgery

    Hey Dr. Grande! Jenette McCurdy, a former Nickelodeon child actress, just wrote a book titled "I'm Glad My Mom Died," talking about her childhood growing up in a dysfunctional and hoarded household with an abusive mother who tried to live her own failed acting dreams through her daughter. It's really an interesting read and I'd highly recommend it. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it if you ever decided to read it.

    • @Throatzillaaa
      @Throatzillaaa Год назад +2

      I am also interested in hearing Dr. Grande speak about this. Was it hard to read (triggering or extremely graphic)? I was a year or so too old for that era of Nickelodeon TV, but I did see a few episodes and I always like Jenette McCurdy's character the most. Some of the things I have read online that her mother forced upon her seem really messed up and heartbreaking 💔

    • @kjorndog
      @kjorndog Год назад

      @@Throatzillaaa I personally didn't find it hard to read but I think it could be triggering for someone who is struggling with or recovering from an eating disorder who considers themselves to be at high risk of relapsing, or to someone who is extremely sensitive about topics of sexual abuse. The abuse she faced from her mother involved extreme manipulation and although it's impossible to tell her true intentions, her mother was so controlling that she did things like bathing her and her brothers and giving them "exams" up to an extremely inappropriate age. Her mother purposefully taught her to be anorexic and the parts where she describes her eating disorders were quite graphic, but she also details her recovery. Most people who feel emotionally equipped to deal with heavy topics should have a safe time reading this book. It's told from a first person, sort of humorously matter-of-fact perspective that makes it compelling rather than just a depressing 300 page memoir.

    I would love it if you started going into more depth on the technical/analytical aspects of personality disorders like you used to. And the videos that are nor about cases but about specific personality disorders in detail; they were like mini-documentaries about each one and case study analysis of patients with them.

The way I look at it is this: it's only a naked body. We are all naked under our clothes anyway and I'm sure these girls are all young and look great. The best way to deal with it is go "oh yeah, that IS me. I look pretty good."
      It's humiliation these arseholes want. Don't give it to them. There's nothing embarrassing about a female naked body. We are all beautiful! It's why fellas always want to get our clothes off!
      Saying that, don't be an idiot and send people your naked pics, girls. It's desperate and attention seeking. Make men work harder for the good stuff. I've never done it. Not even sent stuff to my hubby. If he wants to see it, he can, in the flesh.

      Drugs, alcohol, getting away from their parents, no rules, sex and young male aggression multiplied by approx. 200,000 people, and you have the outcome. It wasn't a festival for women at all. It wasn't music for women at all. In hindsight, some things are clearer. For example, I had female friends who were listening to Korn or Limp Bizkit. Now I think it's ridiculous to worship bands whose fans are groped and raped in the audience during concerts. Two members of Red Hot Chili Peppers were charged with assault for molesting a woman fan during their show. Nobody spoke about it in the 90s. Young women were so brainwashed by the media that they listened to the same bands as boys if they wanted to be a cool girl. Listening to nSync and Backstreet Boys was considered lame. No one questioned what these bands stand for.
