The plot of Odyssey then revolves around Mario taking a trip around the world in a hijacked aircraft using the power of "forest spirits" (cappy) to find purpose in his life and take a break from drugs (hence the lack of power ups). He finds out how disappointing life is and eventually decides to commit suicide, but not before visiting the mushroom kingdom one last time. For the after game, peach seeks rehabilitation for her Stockholm syndrome and gains paranoia when Mario goes missing, so she sets out to look for him. All the toads communicating with Mario are crazy, even peach. But Mario must go and seek his final challenge on the "moon" even though it's actually hell as he committed suicide. But using the spirits that helped him, he escaped hell and was allowed to see his life flash before his eyes and the spirits speech to allow him to die peacefully (all his friends he made) before passing on, truly...
