    Very helpful - planning to do this next month in an open-cockpit gyro so good to see what it looks like beforehand.

    Very nice guys! Beautiful editing! Makes all the difference! Just doing a similar flight in the Skymaster in Flight Simulator! Blue skies!

    Looks like a great trip, and you had a much easier time getting to the altitudes than I did in my Cherokee 180 last summer (can't wait to finish building my TSi!). Next time you make the trip, I'd highly recommend going just a little farther east and overflying Meteor Crater in Winslow, AZ.

    Lovely Flight... However that wasnt the Grand Canyon Airport... But very few would know that...

    Awesome Video, thanks for sharing. What time of year was this, my wife and I are heading that way in mid June.

      This was in the early Fall around September. I hope you have a great trip, will you be flying yourself?

    Did you guys ever do a video about building your Tsi at the factory in Za?

    I've been wanting to do this for a while now. I like that you show the routes. Anything you would do differently a second time?

      Honestly, I'd probably do it the same. Getting to go through all the corridors was nice because the terrain can be different in each section. Landing at Boulder City is not completely necessary (we mostly did it to reset cameras somewhere close) but landing at Marble Canyon (L41) was amazing and I would definitely do that again.

    Hey guys! How did you know the altitudes you should fly through the corridors? I don’t see it on ForeFlight

    I loved the video. How does the autopilot handle those bumps? Did you have to hand fly it or does the autopilot stay on through the bumps?

    • @SlingPilotAcademy
      @SlingPilotAcademy  2 года назад

      We hand flew a lot of the time (for comfort) but the auto pilot definitely handled the turbulence when we did have it on.

      @@SlingPilotAcademy That is good news. Thank you.

    Where did you do the SFRA training? I just got my PPL and would love to do this flight. The research says I need 2 hours ground training on GC SFRA, and need a SFRA CFI to instruct me...

    • @SlingPilotAcademy
      @SlingPilotAcademy  11 месяцев назад

      Great question, there are SFRA all over the country and we have several right near our academy in Torrance, CA. Our SFRA training in incorporated in our accelerated program and is something you learn from your CFI's during your time at Sling Pilot Academy. Can you check in with where you got your PPL from and see if they have a SFRA CFI to instruct you?

    • @kylebedford9629
      @kylebedford9629 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@SlingPilotAcademy I showed it to my CFI. He was unaware of the distinction of SFRA CFI so I presume he is not one. He was going to ask around about it. The school has planned sight seeing trips up to the GC SFRA so presumably someone was a SFRA CFI... Or they didn't follow the regulation who knows. Smaller flight school anything is possible.

      @@kylebedford9629 😆that's very true, hopefully you can find a CFI to take you out. Enjoy the sight seeing trips, definitely take advantage of those!
