Just started watching. Does "selling everything ... ", include your home etc. I'm sure many people are incredibly interested in how they can fund their own big trip, maybe worth an episode of how you achieved it for yourselves.
Hi Crusty181! We didn’t have a home to sell so that made things simpler in some ways... we’d owned an apartment and sold that years earlier. We have a podcast show as well “Family Travel Australia” and have a couple of episodes specific to this topic as well 👍 doing a RUclips episode on this is a great idea also and we’ll do that in an upcoming ep 😊 we are just about to celebrate our first year full time on the road so that may be a perfect Segway for us to talk about funding your own dream 👍
@@TheFeelGoodFamily we're avid long-suffering caravaners of 25year + and did a 14mth lap a couple of years ago. How we paid for it, for many observers was the first question or certainly the elephant in the room. "Lucky" is the term most often thrown around, but it's not luck its one decison followed by planning. Although it wasnt quiet as financially daunting as it could appear to be from the outside, we all still need to fund the big upfront capital purchases and keep paying the bills somehow. Us average Joes doing it provide the greatest inspiration and fodder to plant the seeds of possibility in those watching the dream, where instead they should be taking plunge. Best wishes
Some excellent points you make!! We dreamt, then planned, then put that plan into action for almost 2 years of dedicated and committed work - working, saving, stopped spending etc. now we work on the road predominantly online and are trying to build on this as we go 👍 woohoo!! “You don’t need to see the whole staircase, just take the first step!” All the best and thank you for your support 😊
What are the new towing laws in Qld you are talking about in the video, I’ve done a bit of googling but can’t find anything 🤷♂️ Keep up the good work with the videos!
@@TheFeelGoodFamily My wife and I have been trying to watch from your Season 1 Ep 1 but have no idea how to watch episodes continually on youtube as the episodes dont seem to be continuous for the season. What am I doing wrong?? Is there a way to watch all of Season 1 continuously? thanks guys.
At the time we had no idea and thought that was what we needed! It has been amazing and hasn’t missed a single beat…. However in hindsight we would make a different choice next time we feel And have a vehicle already upgraded to tow and store this full time lifestyle - better equipped vehicle from the start and we’d most likely stick with a Toyota 👍😊🇦🇺
Hi Leon, I was working for National Trust of Australia (global charity) and Katie is still running her own online health and wellness business... this really keeps us fed and fueled while we are in the road! Take care and look after yourself, cheers Paul
Hey guys. Just started watching. Just wondering how is the hilux going with the van towing? What’s the weight of the van? I have a hilux and have order a 19ft van.
Hi Daniel, thanks for getting in touch. The HILUX we have [auto] has a towing capacity of 3.2t. The manual version is 3.5t. The van Tare weight is 2430kg and ATM is 3080kg, so we are on the max end of the scale. We have been up and down mountains across Tassie, Central QLD, most of the East Coast of Aus and never had an issue or felt like a struggle - we are very happy with the towing ability - just don't overload either vehicle and stick to the recommendations. Our van is 29ft [8.85m] including the drawbar. If you haven't towed a large trailer/van before it does take a little getting use too but after a while it becomes second nature of course. Very excited for you mate, hope this time passes quickly so you can hit the road and make the best memories of your life!!
Beautiful 💖.. J-Boy is quite the presenter.... Loved it 👍
I really love your family. 💕💕
Hey guys your filming & editing style is very creative...enjoyed watching. cheers Glenn
Great job doing this... I love the vibe and the beautiful honest curiosity that you have.

We are starting our Big Lap in May.
Why did you guys end up choosing the hillux?

Those limes would get you in big trouble in South Africa 🇿🇦
Watching this episode.
What do you use to record your videos?
Hi Bruce, we use a few different cameras - 90% filmed on a GoPro! Edit on MacbookPro with Final Cut Pro - cheers and all the best for 2021!
Had you really never reversed a van when you left on your long trip
What did you guys do for a living before the big desision
