It surprises me whenever I see these old videos cause Wheein had more of the tomboy/swagger vibe, but after debut this style completely became Moonbyul's. Btw this comp is amazing and many of the clips are in such HD quality! You're an mvp for this
Ah thank you! Wheein still wears more masculine or tomboy-ish clothes from time to time but yeah back in the day it was a lot more..? I think that might be due to the fact that she was still very young in those clips. Those clips are from when she is 17 or 18 so it's no surprise to me her style evolved with time.
Wheein definitely still dresses like that, more so on her everyday clothes than stage ones (probably because by now she's used to it), but I feel like at the beginning Moonbyul had to compromise her style to suit better to MMM's image and now that they're a established force she can dressed as she likes, I mean they used to be dressed the same at the beginning and then it was more like the costumes were matching but suited to each member's style.
she wanted to be a singer initially but the group needed a bass line so the company made her a rapper. but yea she does sing now and she is darn good at it.

HOLY GOD IN HEAVEN!!!! The big question here is,.... who is saying no to THESE girls?? ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!! Solar isn't young enough? Are you for real?? Wheein isn't WHATEVER enough? EVERY sound and move Wheein did was STUNNING!!! She is an unreserved YES!!! Hwasa's not pretty enough?? They have NO IDEA what's in store!! She is breathtaking in every possible way. When Moonbyul makes her appearance in this video, the only thought I had was,... here's someone who was BORN to do this. She is on point in every way. When the footage dips into more than one of them together, it suddenly INSTANTLY becomes the theatrically EPIC vibe they are known for. It was there from the get go?? How fantastic are they together??? It's a stage act that is absolutely a bigger thing than the sum of it's parts. And those parts are already TOP NOTCH!! There is like some kind of crackling energy happening when they perform together.
I think that the difference between mamamoo and other girl groups is that you can tell that they're enjoying what they are doing. And the chemestry between them is radiating on stage.
They are so talented and worked so hard!! I'm proud of how much they've grown and everything they've built from scratch since their predebut! Impossible not to admire them!
Some ppl said Moonbyul was assigned to be rapper because other members were too good at singing but I disagree. Moonbyul was already better than many kpop vocalists in her pre-debut days. I think she was assigned because her voice is different deep tone.
I've seen some more musically educated Moos say that many producers etc weren't willing to work with her vocal tone and it was quite uncommon to have singers (still kinda is) with that vocal tone so many songs weren't made with their voices in mind.
Really great work, thanks. As a Moomoo with the hunter and gatherer gene I have seen many of them, but not all and some of them only as a snippet in another video. It was only a few month ago that I realized that there was a performance of Question Mark before Party People, and now you tell me there are at least two...? And a training video, too? I think even if I get 100 years old I will be still surprised of a "new" old clip of them.

What i like about them they know how to hype the audience something that idol rarely had I mean other group just give a performances but mamamoo give us some interaction their harmony and make us enjoy the stage with them
I agree wholeheartedly! The way they interact with the crowd, regardless if it's Moos or not, makes them excellent performers. For example in Queendom and 2nd World, I noticed, Mamamoo put a big emphasis on interacting with the crowd, either by making them sing, raise their hands etc, and that makes their performances so much more alive since now the audience is part of the performance. They are amazing at it and I'm glad they feed off of the energy of the audience and in return give us amazing interactive performances.

Well, it is VERY normal for musicians/singers to play the piano. It is often a core part of their singing practice to play scales and sing alongside them. Or to play it as accompiament. At this level, most of singers this good probably also play piano.
im a recent mamamoo fan, thanks for this compilation. Now I can really appreciate the difference between Mamamoo and the rest of the girl groups after 21ne. These girls faced a lot of adversities in South Korea but stayed on the top of their game, they deserve more recognition internationally. I got introduced to this group because of Jessie’s interview with Hwasa and fell in love with them after I heard their songs.

Wheein still wears more masculine or tomboy-ish clothes from time to time but yeah back in the day it was a lot more..? I think that might be due to the fact that she was still very young in those clips. Those clips are from when she is 17 or 18 so it's no surprise to me her style evolved with time.
Wheein definitely still dresses like that, more so on her everyday clothes than stage ones (probably because by now she's used to it), but I feel like at the beginning Moonbyul had to compromise her style to suit better to MMM's image and now that they're a established force she can dressed as she likes, I mean they used to be dressed the same at the beginning and then it was more like the costumes were matching but suited to each member's style.

HOLY GOD IN HEAVEN!!!! The big question here is,.... who is saying no to THESE girls?? ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!! Solar isn't young enough? Are you for real?? Wheein isn't WHATEVER enough? EVERY sound and move Wheein did was STUNNING!!! She is an unreserved YES!!! Hwasa's not pretty enough?? They have NO IDEA what's in store!! She is breathtaking in every possible way. When Moonbyul makes her appearance in this video, the only thought I had was,... here's someone who was BORN to do this. She is on point in every way. When the footage dips into more than one of them together, it suddenly INSTANTLY becomes the theatrically EPIC vibe they are known for. It was there from the get go?? How fantastic are they together??? It's a stage act that is absolutely a bigger thing than the sum of it's parts. And those parts are already TOP NOTCH!! There is like some kind of crackling energy happening when they perform together.
I think that the difference between mamamoo and other girl groups is that you can tell that they're enjoying what they are doing. And the chemestry between them is radiating on stage.
They are so talented and worked so hard!! I'm proud of how much they've grown and everything they've built from scratch since their predebut! Impossible not to admire them!

Some ppl said Moonbyul was assigned to be rapper because other members were too good at singing but I disagree. Moonbyul was already better than many kpop vocalists in her pre-debut days. I think she was assigned because her voice is different deep tone.
I've seen some more musically educated Moos say that many producers etc weren't willing to work with her vocal tone and it was quite uncommon to have singers (still kinda is) with that vocal tone so many songs weren't made with their voices in mind.
Hwasa really got that attitude since day1 🥹
Especially her looks? She was a fashion icon from day 0.

The way they interact with the crowd, regardless if it's Moos or not, makes them excellent performers. For example in Queendom and 2nd World, I noticed, Mamamoo put a big emphasis on interacting with the crowd, either by making them sing, raise their hands etc, and that makes their performances so much more alive since now the audience is part of the performance. They are amazing at it and I'm glad they feed off of the energy of the audience and in return give us amazing interactive performances.

Well, it is VERY normal for musicians/singers to play the piano. It is often a core part of their singing practice to play scales and sing alongside them. Or to play it as accompiament. At this level, most of singers this good probably also play piano.

im a recent mamamoo fan, thanks for this compilation. Now I can really appreciate the difference between Mamamoo and the rest of the girl groups after 21ne. These girls faced a lot of adversities in South Korea but stayed on the top of their game, they deserve more recognition internationally. I got introduced to this group because of Jessie’s interview with Hwasa and fell in love with them after I heard their songs.
