I do not question your expertise or your product. My concern is just how much did it cost for the materials that went into this project. Also the cost of your time. It seems like a great solution with a very impractical total cost.
Would it help if the cut flap was selected to be reward facing so the uncut section was first piece to make contact on forward rotation to prevent snagging . Cheers from Australia
I like your video's a lot. How about making shoe soles and very soft foot bed or liners for your crafted shoes or boots? Thank you for your time in the production of these fine video's mate.
@@smoothon Thank you mate. I'm making my own boots and shoes and would like to do my own shoe soles and liners for a supper soft feel on the inside with a durable out sole that will last for a very long time in all conditions if possible.
This has worked for Milo because he hasn't needed to buy or fix the tires since this video. The tires are going on 5 years now and aren't showing any failure yet.
Hi I have a subcompact tractor with a loader on it it lifts up to 1200 lbs and has 18/8.50/ 10 tires on the front and I would love to be able to foam fill them

This may sound really simple, but how about a video on how to fill a metal tube with foam so that it will not sink? I thought about those spray foam insulating products you can get at Home Depot, but they are stored in a metal can, so I assume they will not cure in a metal tube. Do I need two-part foam, what kind, etc? Thanks.

What does that mean, 4.76 pounds? Is that the combined weight of the 1 Part A and 2 Part B's when you are initially pouring them into the dispensing cup?

Sounds great, looks like a better way of making a foam filled garden tractor tire. How about long term? Once you fill the tire with foam you have pretty much lost the tire and wheel. I have a 30 + year old tractor cart and haven't seen the replacement tire/wheel with that axle diameter I need.

Hi, greetings from the Philippines It Seems like I'm out of the topic ..But anyway, do you have any video demos of Smooth-On's Urethane Rubbers? I am looking for a hard rubber that can be used as smartphone case. Any suggestion which smooth on product should I try? Thanks!
Im curious if FlexFoam-iT 25 can be pigmented, Red, Orange, Yellow, Blue Black. and what is the Specific Gravity when it is finished curing. I'm wanting something tough and Floats in Water. Gratitude for your help, Roger
Interesting video! Just found your channel. But would it be possible to make a mold of the tire, then remove the tire from the rim, and placing the rim into the mold, cast a solid tire directly onto the rim? A hard rubber or hard silicone would be best, I think, or maybe a softer version of polyurethane?
@@smoothon If you guys have time, that would make a very interesting video. I imagine it would be a bit of trial and error finding the right balance so that you'd have a tire soft enough to not tear up your yard, but rigid enough to not end up essentially being a flat tire on its own.
What does this run to buy all the items that you used. I am interested but I don't think that I want to spend more on the product, then what I would spend on the tires
Rick, I would contact your nearest distributor for pricing, as they can help you find shipping options. You can find a full list of Smooth-On distributors here - www.smooth-on.com/distributors/

As of April 2023, It’s $190 for 1 gallon.
Wouldn’t it be better to make the hole in the sidewall, keeping the integrity of the part that touches the ground?
This would be great to put inside the rear and front tires of a lawn mower

Genius
Nice I used this brand for building a tpo welding machine using high heat it works great the only thing was finding the right firmness of the material
Nice work

This is great. I would be inclined to cut the hole in the side wall rather than risk damaging the tread, but other than that this looks great!
Thanks for watching! 😃
Very Good!
Thank you! Cheers!
great now you got some $200 cart wheels that will last maybe 2 years :-)
If can i hope to make the machine injection and mixer foam together
Another excellent video Milo, One question I do have is.......what do you use to clean off the un-mixed casting materials from your mixing tools?
You can use mineral spirits or acetone.
@@smoothon Thanks
how is this cost effective?

Make shoe soles like rubber vibram soles.
Thanks Bobby!

Would it work in a bike? It is slow moving but the tires can spin fast sometimes though not fast as a car.

Yes you could, contact us if you have any questions.
What if you wanted a bit more flex (mower caster wheels)? Which product to use? Is this a polyurethane product?
This is a urethane foam, you could use a softer variation like FlexFoam-iT! X
Snowmobile/motorcycle/car seat via a mold.

What is the increased weight of the wheels?
Jan, the new wheel weighs 3300 grams / 7.2 lbs compared to the old wheel which weighed 1950g / 4.3lbs

I want to make a mold of a Harley frame
would have it not been cleaner to remove the valve stem and find a way to inject the tire with a big syringe
tried this/,didnt work. foam compressed with weight and ended up with multi flat spots. stuffed whole tyre /rim
