How do you bargain with these prices or find out what any sort of industry standard is?
So a guy with no money to buy a porsche has enough money to buy advertising all over northern Calif?....huh...did I miss something...and then he has enough money to buy a dealership!!??....
He got the money to buy the dealership buy pre-selling the idea of "drive a new porsche every year for a one time investment" to investors who liked porches and wanted to drive them. The whole concept is to think innovatively and outside the box. There are many different stories and examples in the interview that go through countless specific instances of that, but it's not necessarily about the specifics of how one person did it, it's about the mindset that once you stop getting stuck in the belief that you don't have "X" that you need - you can solve for it with creative thinking, joint ventures, bartering, etc. It's an extremely flexible, open ended, and very very powerful business concept.
