- With Fire Emblem Echoes releasing, I thought I would finally play the Fire Emblem series where it all began. Well, in America at least. This week episode of the Completionist: Fire Emblem the Blazing Sword on the Game Boy Advance (GBA)!
Subscribe: bit.ly/SubscribeThatOneVideoGamer
About The Game:
Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade is a tactical role-playing game developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance handheld video game console. It is the seventh entry in the Fire Emblem series, the second to be released for the platform after Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade, and the first to be localized for Western audiences. It was released in Japan and North America in 2003, and in Europe and Australia in 2004.

I remember finishing Lyn’s story and thinking I beat the game 😂😭
Me too. Got jebaited real good.
Lmaooo
The best feeling was finding out it wasn’t over and that there was 30 more chapters
That happened to me literally last week lol
This happened to me today :D

"It might even convince me to dust off my old copy of Awakening"
*Shows footage from Fire Emblem Fates*
This game seems kinda cool.
I should give it a try sometime.
Mangs daddy pls
Don't bother. Is not like it's a game you would play for 14 years or anything
Please don't.
Mangs I recommend Binding Blade first
yeah this serra is right and you most certainly will never shitpost a serra
Well thats the first time I heard someone complain about the overworld textures
same
Same
Hello. Fancy seeing you here. YADAKA MY FRIEND
No one. I was just spouting nonsense.
oh hey it's you lol
20:57
Correction: Fire Emblem: Awakening was not the first instance of Casual Mode. More accurately, the Japanese-only "Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem" is when they added Casual Mode.
Yeah, but no one played 12.
Excuse you. FE12 is my favourite Fire Emblem game.
...
I played 12...
DZZY KZZY I want too but Nintendo didn't want to localize it
Actually that goes for pretty much half of the entire series
No one but the Hard core fans. It practically did everything Awakening did outside of child units, even made the target sales that Awakening needed to make to "save the Series". Only game to not meet that target is Thracia776.
What Fire Emblem game should be on my radar next? Should I dust off my copy of Awakening? Let me know!
I always loved the sacred stones that was always my favorite.
That One Video Gamer GOTTA do path of radiance for the GameCube
That One Video Gamer ROY!! ROY. ROY'S THE BOI.
true but if he does every pairing it'll take FOREVER
As A longtime veteran, go with Path Of Radiance. Easily best in the series
that's been officially localised
If you don't like the map showing in the background while fighting, you can change it via settings.
Lol, I learned of fire emblem back in 2005. I was in the 5th grade and playing with 2 magnets. My classmate was so interested in them for some reason that he offered to trade my 2 magnets for Fire emblem 7. My classmate said it was a boring game and bad. Coming from a poor family and not being able to afford games I accepted the trade. Man, am I glad I did. It was fate that I found Fire emblem that day.
That’s the kind of story that sounds really fake but at the same time I don’t think you can make that kind of stuff up
@@Edgeperor nah I believe it. Kids are dumb and it's a pretty hard game with lots of reading so I could believe a kid would find the game boring. I've seen kids trade for dumber thing
16:55 Romance wasn't first introduced in Awakening. It was first in Fire Emblem 4: Genealogy of the Holy War, and even though it was a SNES game, the mechanics behind romance and subsequent child units were more complex since you had to consider aspects such as carrying over bloodlines so that they are able to wield weapons exclusive to a bloodline. If you thought THIS game made you think of Game of Thrones, FE4 is even more so.
I mean, let's be real, it was romance in this game too, it just wasn't "let's get married on the spot after having talked three times."
Honestly the only new mechanic that Awakening introduced was the pair up system and it wasn't that great (I have to give credit to Fates for making that better though) it was broken in players favor and all the other mechanics or "new" options were already in previous games (the avatar playable and that mode were units don't die were already in
Fire Emblem 12 for example) because they wanted to include a bit of each Fire Emblem game until that moment.
There's been romance in every game with supports, it just hasn't effected the game with new characters outside of Genealogy, Awakening and Fates. Also holy fuck the Love System of Genealogy needs a fucking tune up. When's FE Echoes: The Holy War?
arvis = sweet home alabama
Please please I want an Echoes remake of the SNES game. It sounds like it would complete my life
When the reviewed game is Blazing Sword, but the thumbnail artwork is Roy from Binding Blade
Trigged
same
but to be fair the art used at the end of the completionist's intro is actually eliwood with the durandal
Schloknak That moment when you click "Read More" and find a spelling error. XD
You got my Like.

Schloknak You get trigged, eh? I get triggered.
Enemy Archer 13% chance to hit.
My unit 87% chance to hit.
I miss,
Enemy hits me with the 27 damage crit.

@@QuickSilverKitsune Ever play Binding blade? Cuz that's just binding blade
I'm just glad Shanna didnt get murdered by that Arcwind mage with 66% hit at the end of chapter 8 in my current Binding Blade playthrough. Only lost two units so far... RIP Ogier and Starting archer guy.
@@sherrdreamz7232 I haven't lost anyone yet but I have made a terrible mistake in training clarine and Sue instead Saul and Thea . I grindied Shanna in the arena . She is easily one of the best fliers in the game, next to Miledy
Literally made me lol.
UH YOU DO REALISE YOU CAN CHANGE ANIMATIONS FROM 1 TO 2?! THAT FIXES THE BACKGROUND PROBLEM!
Hi
Hi
This Vid had so many problems jeez even the thumbnail is wrong
Vid is 5 years old, post a comment about the game 3 years later after everything is done XD.
This is tied for my favorite game of all time, but good god man, this was never meant to be one hundred percented
Same, probably my favorite FE game.
I've never played this
Neither are most things he completes lol
@@toadrules4658 then why would you even bother to comment here? You cab get attention elsewhere without looking stupid...
Just curious but what game is it tied with?
Fire Emblem: Before Everyone went nuts over it
FuegoNintendo I remember I randomly picked it up used a few months after I got a GBA and I didn't even play it until a few weeks after I bought the game lol then after I played it I was like holy fucking shit this is a good game and I immediately checked if there was a sequel or anything and I found sacred stones. I've bought every fire emblem since
FuegoNintendo I find it a good thing that it got extremely popular, this series deserves it. It was such an underrated game until awakening came out
Especially because it would've died at Awakening if it didn't become main series.
FuegoNintendo pretty much
It's a shame they finally realized for a second time that advertisements sell games when Awakening was on the docket. Awakening is an awful Fire Emblem game and the fact that it's the one that got the marketing love is really sad since it shifted the series so heavily into the garbage can. But keep in mind it was the second one to get pushed heavily in the West. The first was Blazing Sword, and it sold really well even with some of the most hilariously bad advertisements in gaming.
Lyns mode: tutorial waifu mode.
Eliwoods: normal mode
Hectors mode: Eliwoods mode but with Pegasus knights everywhere.
But Hector *LOVES* Killing Pegasus Knights
@Rellyali1987 He Can Marry 2 Actually, But For Real Doh, We ALL Know That Hector X Lyn Is The OTP In FE7, Along With Eliwood & Ninian, Of Course
Lyn Hard mode=Waifu Mode
Ellliwood hard mode= Exactly what it sounds like
Hector Hard mode=FUUUUUUUUUU-
See I didnt know this and thought I had done something cool
Lyn bad though
dude, eliwood's tale is more about finding his father, he just happened to get tangled with black fang along the way,
The purpose of Eliwood and Hectors' journey changes over the story. First it's finding his father and eventually changes to finding the hero weapons in order to thwart the Black Fang and Nergel's plans to open the Dragon Gate.
As I saw the thumbnail I thought "oh cool, he reviewed Fire Emblem 7, that's nice". Then I realized "Wait... this is the guy that beats games 100% before reviewing them... OH GOD....!"
Except that's Roy.
The thumbnail could be Leif for all I care, but I guess I could have specified the thumbnail AND the title.
At least he had a proper Eliwood art in the review :P
i hope, for his mind, that he doesnt do awakening. lunatic+ will kill him

@Marcus Paul bitch have you played the mission "living legend" on hector hard mode WITH the lords having total XP under 800? the boss there is strong, fast (yes he moves) and there is fog of war
The music in this game is SO GOOD. Pretty much every track is a banger. Especially that Black Fang theme.
Every time I lost a unit I reset my GBA and started the chapter over. Doesn't even matter if it was a unit I never used.
Scorpion122178 I have a rule that in my first run of an FE game, I have to keep going no matter the costs. However, in subsequent playthroughs, I can't deal with losing anyone.
Bartholomew Peter I can only do that when I haven't played a Fire Emblem game in a while, AND when I'm playing a newer game. If I ever try out one of the older games, or especially Shadow Dragon, I reset whenever I lose a character that's useful, which in SD means any of my characters that actually have weapons because you can only see the Gaiden chapters if you have less than 15 living units and if you have that few the game throws generic units at you -_-
That's part of what kind of deters me from wanting to play Shadow Dragon. This whole thing I keep hearing about having to kill off people, which is why I choose to play the Jugral games next.
Bartholomew Peter Ah, I should mention that it's optional. It's only to get to the new chapters and extra characters that weren't in the original game. It's still a stupid way to unlock the extra levels, but you can play through the game just fine without it and then decide if the extra levels are worth it to go through again. I haven't really gone back to it more than once yet because I haven't played Awakening, Path of Radiance, Echoes, etc. yet XD
I did the same thing if it was a character I liked. When it came to Shadow Dragon, I just said screw it to everything with that game after a while. When it also came to trying to get the sword for Marth I didn't know about a certain item you could use to hit every enemy until after I got past the chapter to get Tikki.
Mother of crap. I'm usually a silent viewer for this channel, but damn. A classic Fire Emblem being on a big time RUclips review channel. What a time to be an FE fan.
I love it. I love seeing Jirard's experience with it and his opinions he has formed. He completed Hector hard mode man. And the supports. And the sound test. I'm one of the more well known GBA hackers in the community.
I've hacked all the GBA games to pieces man... and that's no small feat. Especially not in the space of a week. HE EVEN LEGIT GOT THE MARIO KART DOUBLE DASH UNLOCKS (including the Emblem weapons like holy crap)
I feel bad he had to rush to do all this. Respect man.
I understand all his pain. I understand his problems with the game. Fire Emblem is not meant for completion in a week.
Jirard, on behalf of the niche FE community of Serenes forest: We welcome you, brother. We welcome your pain with the supports. We welcome your pain with stat level ups and 1% crits. With all respect we know that feel.
shadowofchaos725 Oh hey Shadow, funny seeing you here, im a fan you. Also its refreshing to see a classic like blazing sword being mentioned in the mainstream media. What a time to be alive. Also I got 3% critted by a 40% chance hit in Fe fates recently, seriously that rng is crazy....
I followed you for a while on Tumblr and I s2g ur practically the embodiment of the good fire emblem fandom. Whenever there's a translation issue or someone uses someone else's FE footage w/o asking, shadowofchaos725 is who to call. Best wishes!!!
a suprise thats for sure i hardly see big time youtubers or big time streamers tak about classic fire emblem its nice blazing sword and the fire emblem series as a whole got the spotlight
The 1% crits... *shudders*
I may not share the FE sentiment, but that's all cool; I appreciate the feeling the same way, when a less-popular RUclipsr that I follow, is brought up in a video. That spark and tingling in the back of the brain that makes one giddy with excitement.
... Oh, I should add that I love the gameplay of FE, but I just can't handle that Permadeath mechanic... but I KNOW it's necessary to affect the ending in several games. They're fine games, just not for me. *scratches head sheepishly*
7:13 Triggered me really hard when you put footage of Fates and were actually talking about Awakening.
20:58 R I P New Mystery. You will be immortalized in the hearts of fan translators.
"There's no crying in Fire Emblem!"
Uhh... actually, there's *a lot* of crying in Fire Emblem. It's pretty much part of the experience
Remember what happened after getting the Durandal for the first time? Because I do.
GENEALOGY INTENSIFIES
Basically every game I've played from the series has really sad moments.
I never understood why people don't like perma-death.
Because I never let any of MY units die.
HA
Not really. Just don't be an idiot and don't put your units in danger.
Hence why you don't reset to get them back. Because it's tiring and not fun.
humans. dragons. long ago, the two species lived in harmony. then, everything changed when the fire nation attacked. Only the strategist, master of all Three weapon types, could stop them. But when the world needed him most, he vanished. A 100 years passed, and my soldiers and I, discovered the new strategist, an apartment dweller named Mark. And although his strategies are great, he still has a lot to learn before he's ready to beat anyone. But I believe, mark can save the world.
I love this. Nice Avatar: The Last Airbender reference!
Bravo. Bravo.
Lmao i love you
Would’ve been funnier if it was about Paladins, since they actually have all three weapon types and are busted enough to make it make some sense

27:30 "Dear Jirard,
Your job sucks. I hate you. Play me forever.
Love,
FIRE EMBLEM!!!!!!"
Yoooooo that part had me dyingggg! I've never heard or seen of this channel before, but your rage resonated through my bones in a way I could never imagine possible through a youtube video before. Subbed.
No way, a Fire Emblem video?
I mean, who is this, and what have you done with Jirard?
AceBen next thing yknow he'll complete the all stars pack .
I've heard that if he ever tries to complete Fire Emblem Awakening, there's a specific RUclipsr(named N-Sight from Mindsight Games) who'd be willing to go through it with him.
"Their's no crying in Fire Emblem" truer words have never been spoken
And if there is, smack it until it stops.
that was a nice reference to that baseball movie called A League of Their Own since the actual movie quote is "There's no crying in Baseball."
I remember maxing all my characters and job advancement levels and collecting every single weapon in the game during my youth... I love this game and Sacred stones to death. Thanks for bringing back the nostalgia!
me too, one of the first games I ever fully completed! That and the GBA Golden Sun games were my faves
Permadeath only becomes a problem if you always reset for every single character. But the game clearly isn't meant to be played that way. It keeps throwing new units at you to compensate for what you've lost. I recommend resetting only for your absolute favourites.
Unfortunately my current place in Sacred Stones has me controlling litteraly only some favorites with 2 non-cared about.
When I first played this game, I reseted so many times for Dorcas. He kept eating bad mutton.
All the units are my favorite therefore I will always reset on character death
Or just use an emulator and save state every turn. That's actually how I practiced the game. I used save states to learn the advantages and disadvantages of certain characters and best fit my play style
I'm the kind of player who refuses to let anyone die. Ever. So... I ended up resetting a lot until I got good at the game. Now I only occasionally have to reset when RNG flips me the bird. The biggest thing is taking your time and not rushing into fights. Even for stages where you're trying to beat them within a certain turn limit, you can usually figure out a strategy that lets you do it without being reckless with your precious units.
Big warning, Jirard: Lunatic difficulty in newer FE games is just the devil. It took me MONTHS to get through the tutorial mission in Awakening on Lunatic+... So be careful when you pick your next FE game to 100%
I like challenges... but sometimes, you gotta draw a line in the sand, you gott- ah; you know the rest :) I may give it a try, though.
Thank you for posting that. I thought I genuinely sucked dick for not being able to beat that level on lunatic plua
I'm so happy you decided to cover a Fire Emblem Game finally! No matter what you think of this game, I love and appreciate the fact that you have chosen to cover this game.
Sacred stone was my childhood
yesss
Oh man I was like 8 years old when I played Fire Emblem. I learned the complexity of its battle system and its story as I replayed and replayed it over the years.
Loooove this game.
Title says Blazing Sword
Thumbnail has Jirard dressed as Roy
I am confused
victikirby15 They look basically identical.
Except one of them is cool. And the other one is Roy.
not!Quacksely Yo, I guess I got lucky, but Roy was leading the charge in my playthrough.
for what, the first ten chapters? Cuz then he hits a wall at level 20 and turns into a throne seizing bot for the next 12 chapters. Not saying our boy is bad, but the devs screwed him over with his late promo
KhaPha Naw, man, except for like the last couple chapters, he was tearing it up. I got lucky rolls I guess.
To think I would see the day Jirard would make a Fire Emblem video. OoO;
I never thought I would see this. These games are hellish to 100% complete. Remember kids, if you want to play a Fire Emblem game, always just finish it the way you want to instead of trying to complete it because IT'S HELL to do so.
My 300+ hour Awakening playthrough to fill the support log can attest to that.
Kind of waiting for him to do a Disgaea game. Yes, they're primarily a Sony franchise but we've had 'em on Nintendo systems just not very much, plus Switch is getting the complete package of Disgaea 5 so I'd love to see Jirard tackle that XD
Linkmstr I love your profile picture lol
I think the sprite artwork is better than any 3d models. And that's why I keep going back to these games.
Yeah a lot was lost in the translation from 2D to 3D. Then Fates took the worst aspects of awakening and almost ruined the series. Thank God 3H was as good as it was
I disagree, models looked fine just.the poor resolution on the 3DS and DS consoles
"these dialogue boxes aren't my thing"
but Zelda can do no wrong huh? c'mon mah man
The thumbnail duped me. Thought he started with Binding Blade for a second.
Bartholomew Peter Kuma plays Fire Emblem?
Yes. Along with my bible I make sure to always carry a gameboy advance or a 3ds. I have to get my tactical fix somehow.
"Mario Kart Double Dash, which is the best Mario Kart"
YES
"kingdom named Caelin" Auch my lore hurts.
Caelin is a County of the Lycia Alliance, Lycia IS the kingdom.
Country* or Nation* or Confederacy/Alliance*
A Kingdom implies it's ruled by a monarchy/king. The Lycian Alliance isn't that - it's an alliance of citystates, each ruled by a Marquis/Marquess. Yeah sure, there's one that acts as sort of a leader for all of them (Ostia in this game's timeline), but the amount of authority the leader actually has isn't what you'd think. The game makes it clear the only thing that keeps Ostia in charge is that the leader is good at diplomacy and has a strong enough military to act if one of the other marquis step out of line... and it's a tenuous alliance at best.

FE 4, now. Do it. 100% that shit. It gives me a Holy War in my pants.
Darian Wright in my pants? IN MY PANTS
Darian Wright If he did Genealogy and Thracia, my life would be complete.
Every loves sain. Everyone
Not me. I hate em.
shupasopni gasp of utter and complete shock! But how? He was the best character in that game.
So was lyn, and all the Pegasus knights
And everyone in fire emblem
sain was probably actually the best character in blazing blade
12:54 did... did you just... attack an enemy that you visibly saw that you could do 0 damage to?
Blob Is Bored he was talking about when his “troops get decimated” so there’s every chance he just recorded that footage to show his unit dying rather than an actual play through of the game. The footage was from the very beginning of the chapter after all so probably got the footage then just reset it.
Gotta get that WEXP
Watched this video twice because it is so refreshing to have a fresh view on the series not blinded by nostalgia.
at least your aren't completing binding blade. in order to unlock all the character for extra mode you have to beat the game 20 times
OnFireGamer why just why at that point i would be burn out of the game
OnFireGamer And it's quite difficult compared to fe7
This is my favorite video on RUclips. Best game ever made, and a great job on the commentary.
One of my all time childhood favorites. Thanks Jirard. I didn't know you had done this until now.
Gr8 game, didn't knew Big RUclipsrs also played good games once in a while.
Elitist warning needed
Literally the best Fire Emblem.
Great story, all the lords are interesting and the game is actually balanced.
evertime123 "balanced" tell that to hector
evertime123 I'm playing through Binding Blade right now and I'm wondering what balance even is. So much pain, so much difficulty.
I agree that all the lords are interesting, but gameplay wise lyn is like one of the worst lords in FE history imo (or maybe I just got unlucky with her growths). also, while the game itself is great and even more so a good entrance point for people interested in the series, I think its way too easy once you have this fire emblem thing down, which is why I don't believe it can be considered the best in the series. the dread and suspense the series is known for is just not present when playing this game.
Karla and Eliwood-mode Eliwood resent that statement.
@Bartholomew Peter just get gonzales, and give him an iron axe, by the end of the game he'll be tanking dragons, with just an iron axe.
As a Fire Emblem completionist, I have to say you 'completed it' when you manage to beat the hardest difficulty!! In Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn, doing the hardest difficulty AND having every character survive - which I did - is insane. Not recommended.
harm991 can confirm for tellius series I did both. didn't struggle too much with por on hard mode after first half probably cuz I focused on 7 units. would love to try the maniac mode if it wasn't exclusive to Japan. radiant dawn on hard really tested my patience. all without anyone dying
Path of Radiance is not that bad, if only by virtue of the fact that our most difficult mode is Hard Mode, and not the Japanese Maniac Mode, but Radiant Dawn really is tough as nails above 'Easy' mode (Which is actually Normal mode, but lol-mistranslation).
Path of Radiance has some ridiculous unlock bonuses, though! You have to beat the game up to 15 times to unlock characters like Petrine and Ashnard as useable characters in the trial maps, then you have to link the game to the GMA titles to unlock some character potraits and trial maps.
Thank you SOOOOO much for playing this game. You made my week awesome. Thank you.
Love how you can feel that Jirard really enjoyed the game at first, but slowly losing his mind towards the end
Man this game brings back so many memories. It's still my favorite Fire Emblem game to this day and I'd play it again any day. Regardless of how I feel about the permanent character death. =]
Good job on the review as always Jirard! I look forward to the next one.
Man I adore this series, been a massive fan of the FE series ever since this game was release to the west.
I'm impressed man, I was only ever able to get around 95% of the support conversations. Honestly never knew how to max out Karla's support conversations when you got her so late in the game.
Damn I miss those epic sprite animations though...
The endgame chapter, Light, has the second phase where you fight a different boss. It actually counts as a seperate battle, so you can build those Karla supports there.
Hm yea I do sorta recall doing that, didn't you need to finish a stage in a limited amount of turns to unlock one of those bonus stages? I think I remember trying to get them but they just didn't happen for me, I got like a B.
honestly though its been such a long time.
thank you for reviewing my favorite game from my favorite series, I literally gasped when I saw your upload
5:47
Would you even say...it set it on a path of radiance?
Brad and Mawm ... Heh!
I bought Echoes today and im so happy! It's amazing trust me you should play it!
Silly moth. *ALL FIRE EMBLEM GAMES ARE GOOD* silly.
*DON'T FORGET*
Some are good for beginners and some are terrible with some such as awakening for beginners and radiant dawn is terrible for beginners trust me that was the game I played first and I hated as well I loved it
my biggest request and finally you did it. I really wanted to see what you thought of these games.
The last 7 minutes of this video is pure gold😭
Hey Pat, I love your videos man!
I remember finishing it 100% as a kid, it was the first game i've completed and that I was this obsessed about ! Thabks for the video, it made me remember so much
This was the 1st rpg stragedy game i'd ever played. I bought it as soon as it came out and have been hooked ever since. The characters were so fleshed out they felt like real people. I would replay battles if my favorite character died. As a gal in high school, I even did an art project using cut outs of the characters from the official game guide. So the GBA games and the wii game are pretty much my favorite games of all time. Also Lyndis and Fiona for ever! And Matthew's back story just broke my heart. I loved the sound test, I would play "Together we ride" on loop.
This and Fire Emblem 4: Genealogy of the Holy War are the best games in the entire series, without a doubt in my mind. Fire Emblem 4 was remarkably deep for when it came out, and Fire Emblem 7 has a much better cast than 6.
ZeroSigma1 I dunno, I really liked how huge the maps were. Probably still some of the biggest maps in the series. I think the only map I didn't like is the map where you get Jamke and Deirdre around the same time, because there's an obnoxious bottleneck forest. But that's about it for me.
+ZeroSigma1 there was some good and bad things in fe4 map design, but it's definitely not the worst in my opinion. That honor goes to gaiden.
i dont know anout the mapdesign, but the maps perfectly hit into the contient because of their shape and scale.
I have nothing but respect for you man. I always figured this would be one of my favorite games you'd never get around to due to how messy and drawn-out the completion bonuses are with supports, but damn.
I guess I should have figured no game would be to difficult for you to tackle after you completed Skyrim.
Keep up the awesome work!
I'm so glad you reviewed Fire Emblem. I love the series and I think I definitely deserves more people playing it.
21:01 I don't want to be "that guy" but Casual mode was actually introduced in 2011's Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem
Theo Widdicombe granted, that game was Japan Only
True but it was still the first game to have Casual mode.
Also having units marry is in this game and was introduced in geneology
You eat JRPGs for breakfast? How many JRPGs have you completed on the show? Not many I can think of.
I saw Golden Sun footage! When are you going to complete that?!
Well, in general, the guy has played his fair share of em.
This is one of my favorite games ever, it inspired my username and made me a long time strategy and rpg fan. I've never even come close to completing those damn support conversations, and I never ever will.
This game game has a special place in my heart. It was in a close out sale in a circuit city when I was a kid. First GBA game I ever bought with my allowance money. Made me fall in love with the series, nice to see this game get some love.
“THERE’S NO CRYING IN FIRE EMBLEM” oh I /heavily/ beg to differ
seriously started this game last night. cool timing
Good luck and have fun with it
Thank you very much for reviewing this game relatively spoiler free. I appreciate it
I want to thank you Girard for introducing me to this franchise. I had never even considered playing a Fire Emblem before, but after watching this video I decided to give it a try. I've been loving Blazing Sword from the begginig. It managed to scratch that itch that I had for a fun and not so complex turn based strategy game. I'll definitely buy more Fire Emblem games in the future. So thank you

What do you mean? Yes they did. They made a kinda dumb joke out of it, but Alex knew that FE7 was a prequel to FE6. It can also be called a "sequel" inasmuch that it was the next game in the series after Binding Blade. They got their stuff right.
ShermTank7272 They were saying all that stuff about the NES version. I guess I didn't understand that it was a joke.
Wild Productions I
i got the joke, but still complained in the comments because that doesnt make sence xD that can actually confuse people
"Dust off my old copy of Awakening."
*Shows Fates footage*
great job Jirard, these games are intimidating i am watching this the day after it came out cause i was playing the new Fire Emblem. love ya keep do'in what your do'in.
Also also, all was cool with the dragons and humans. But then, the Fire Nation attacked.
Does the fire nation have the fire emblem?
Paulo Roberto as someone who's played a lot of FE I can confirm the fire nation always has the fire emblem
Le' Derp well say that to.... shit you are right
I hope you complete Valkyria Chronicles one day. Much respect for completing this game.
Great video! Yeah, despite Fire Emblem being my favorite franchise and this particular game being my second-favorite entry (just behind Path of Radiance), I still haven't 100%ed it after 14 years.
It's nice to see you encourage new players to go back to the older games. It's sorely needed.
I fell in love with this game. I am personally attached to the characters.
Got to admit, I really like the character portraits and battle animations in The Blazing Blade. The bright, varied colors are also a really nice touch, especially when compared to Fire Emblem: Awakening and Fates.
whenever i hear any kind of music from this exact game i get absolute goosebumps. fire emblem is love fire emblem is life.
respect for you for complete those sometimes long games
LOL "There's no crying in Fire Emblem!"
So is anyone gonna leave a comment talking about Sacred Stones? No? Ok.
SuperKamiGaming Sure. Sacred stones is a game, a Fire emblem game........Done
Because Sacred Stones can speak for itself
It was the very first game I played so it will forever have a special place in my heart but I can still put down my fanboy glasses and admit that it does have a mediocre story at best.
SS is the best GBA game
Yes... Dah Scared Scones. Delicious
Good God man! Completing this game must have been excruciating! It's a great game, but wow is it not built for completing.
You truly are a badass and a legend Jirard!
Damn. He went all in on Fire Emblem. As a veteran of the series who's also done this I give him props, but I have to give him more props because he did it in a shorter period-
I did it all, minus the emblem weapons and the Mario Kart disc, over the course of a year or two.
I hope he plays others, even if it's just the newer ones, and I'm glad to see the series still get good exposure from a larger channel.
I see the video on my sub feed. I knew Jirard was going to lose his mind trying to 100% this.
Zoo in which rich kids get to pet Gorillas through the glass, what Zoo kid you go to as a kid Jirard?
As soon as I saw there is a support conversations completion screen, I knew that would be nuts. I've played a good chunk of the sacred stones, which is very, very similar mechanics wise, and..well, I know the pain of unlocking it in the first place.
I came here to get a crash course of Fire Emblem becos apparently I'm one of those who lived under a rock for some +years and didn't know about this series only to see ads for Fire Emblem: Three Houses and wanted to be enlightened..... Only to make it to the end to give this RUclipsr my "like, comment, subscribe, and PRAISE" for a job well done!!! BRAVO FELLA!!! Tis the passion & insanity of being a compleationist.
WHAT I like literally just got into this series and beat this game
What the shit it's only been a year.
26:18 NO! THERE'S NO CRYING IN FIRE EMBLEM!
(insert copypasta)
Didn’t expect you to be a Fire Emblem fan, but at the same time it makes perfect sense
@@Edgeperor More of a completionist fan than a FE fan, but I at some point I might return
Jirard, you’re crazy man!! Although I have to say, I was expecting a playtime somewhere in the 100s of hours.
Alex is the MAN!!!! dropping that knowledge!
