- Hughes & Kettner has a new amp out: Black Spirit 200 Floorboard. Floorboard version of the Black Spirit 200 has the tone from the head and combo amps but in a super handy pedal format. This pedal can be your whole rig, just add a cabinet or record straight from the XLR out using the redbox cab simulation. Floor amp has effects on board aswell: delay, reverb, modulation. It expands to your needs well. you can add your favourite overdrive or compression pedals to "Pre loops". With the help of midi you can control external midi effects and hook them into the effect loop.
Had the priviledge to explore this new amp at the Hughes & Kettner headquarters in germany last summer. Thank you and congratulations to all at H&K for the killer (floor) amp!
Check the offical promo video for the amp. Some incredible players and youtubers on "board" ;D

Awesome playing and great amp...hope they will soon come up with a stereo version...
Yes, stereo would be great! Maybe Dry + wet wet setup would make sense with this amp? Run the amp into a cabinet as usual. In addition take the line out with cabinet simulation and run it to stereo reverb, chorus, delay effect pedals (you might set these to 100% wet) and then connect these to a pair of full range powered speakers. Tried this with my Tubemeister deluxe one point and it sounded incredibly 3-dimensional.
Awesome video Mika, thank you for visiting and taking part in all this :)
The whole visit was an incredible experience! So honoured to be part of the launch of this killer amp!
They should’ve stuck with the Grandmeister concept IMO. Imagine a grandmeister 40 floorboard?
I adore the sound of the Black Spirit, but I still hope that they do a more puristic version of it. This technology in a two channel amp without the digital stuff, in a bigger headshell, easier to repair and it would be the best thing ever for my needs.
Yes! I do hope they make more variations on this floor amp concept to meet all the different needs and rigs!
Try the Bluguitar Amp1! Could be what you want
nice video ! These 4 days in St Wendel were cool !
GuitarCook tv Thank you! Those were great days, was great to get to know you 🙌
Got a couple of tunes recorded with Black Spirit 200 head on the upcoming album but this pre-album single was played with Tubemeister Deluxe 40. one of the sweetest sounding amps ever:

Sounds killer! Especially that clean channel tone
Yes it does! I love that clean. I recorded a couple of tunes for the new album with the Black Spirit head version. But actually I didn't use the clean channel there... 😅 Great fluid lead tones too!
Mr. Fastfinger - Mika Tyyskä haha I’m sure but maybe some more tunes on this channel will happen soon enough! :)
cool. I have the grand meister deluxe 40 and im amazed. i come from a dual rectifier mesa boogie and this GMD40 is AWSOME!!!
Cool! 've only played with GMD during a few clinics but it's a monster versatile and great sounding amp. For my already effects filled rig and more classic tone based playing Tubemeister Deluxe 40 simply works perfect. Altough now I wish it had more Black Spirit like Clean channel with this sagging function...
@@MikaFastfinger awsome. H&k are developing new things very well. Im glad to see other players as you share this kind of content!.
@@chriskosch5127 Yes, they are! Thank you!
Awesome sounds Mika! Nice Job!!!
Thanks. It does sounds amazing!
sounds awesome!
great job Mika!!!!
It is a good sounding amp. I am just afraid that when a playe sweats on stage a couple of sweat drops might fall into the headphone output. Should have place it on the sides. Just saying and make it waterproof cause a 900 dollar amp on the floor seems like an accident waiting to happen. Just for those reason, still prefer combo amps.
I doubt a few drops of sweat will harm this. A piece of good ol' gaffa would protect. On the other hand if you drop a whole pint of beer on this it might another story. I mean there those gigs where the drunken audience is right there at your feet and have serious problems keeping their beer straight...
@@MikaFastfinger Which is EXACTLY why I would never buy an all-in-one floor unit. I realize that most people who buy these types of units don't play out much or at all (like me these days). But when you are out on the road, there are a LOT of those types of gigs. People packed in an spilling shit everywhere. Then, the people who are hammered and want to get on stage and stomp all over your shit AND spill shit on it. I've had to kick people away from my floorboard before LOL. makes me laugh thinking about it now. But at the time, I was pissed. Some chick changing my patches mid-song. Nope. Never does it make sense to own a floor unit if you plan on playing out. A rack unit with a great floor controller. There's a reason for racks: to protect your valuable gear. Most dedicated floor controllers are built like tanks and can take all kinds of abuse. I had a great roland foot controller and after 6 years on the road, it was all beat up but still worked perfectly. Oh, one more thing, I really don't want to be stomping on something all night, every gig that has sensitive electronics in it. There is simply no way that that alone will eventually cause a problem. Fine for home use except the constant bending over to make adjustments. so much easier with a rack unit.
Wow 👌 this include cabinet simultor?
Yes, it has the most advanced Redbox to this day. The tone on this video is actually the redbox output. There was a microphone there capturing cabinet too but redbox sounded much better.
wow! Is this Hughes and Kettner take on Thomas Blug Amp1 ? It is really similar :)
Well there are certain similarities in the concepts indeed :D Having amp on the floor seems like an upcoming trend and I bet trere will be many more to come to this game. This kind of floor amps would make sense in many rig setups!
@@MikaFastfinger Yes, floorboards seem to be the future of guitar rigs. This one sounds killer!
Doesn’t Thomas design for Hughes?
@@makmcqueen8634 I think he used to but has stopped working with H&K to focus on his own company Bluguitar
Can it be plugged in into a guitar amp? Or into combo amp’s poweramp section?
hmm. not sure if that would make any sense. This is not a preamp pedal, but a full 200 watts amp. just connect this to a cabinet. (Technically if you only wanted to use the preamp section of this amp, you could go from effects loop out and connect that to your combos effects loop in )
UK pre-order being taken here: www.bandtmusic.co.uk/hughes-kettner-black-spirit-200-floor.html
Sweetwater shows them at about $1200.00 US
Going with the head and foot switch will cost almost the same maybe 20 dollars more... And I would personally prefer that
They said I will be able to get it for 999.00 upon arrival just fyi fellow players
How much are these? I’ve been trying to figure out the price. Anybody know?
$1000
@@aeguitar9294 it's posted in music radars website.. $899 .(£800,$1000)
andy jamesみたいな音で気持ち悪い そのアンプは良い 弾き方に気を付けろ andy jamesも悪い人じゃないんだけど ついでにNickelbackが好き
Why no use FX loop, I can hear delay?
