sir,i read somewhere that the reduction of carboxylic acid group by dibal-h has a different mechanism than reduction of esters....for reduction of carboxylic acid group we need a strong basic medium...whatever it is , finally agrees with your solution....but other ccg institutes are randomly reducing both of them....so what is the probability of only esters getting reduced is correct????
