The suspension is amazing, but what I love about this the most is the sound, a brilliant move to destroke a 427 to get higher revs, what a unit! 8500 rpm in an LS? Hell Yeah Brother!
Came here from Hoonigan... All I can say is wow. I'm a euro kinda guy but this is one of my favorite body styles with an absolute beast of a motor! Good work guys.
You did amazing, that car is so Awesome. I always loved the iroc z, I own a 89 iroc. This video is a tremendous inspiration to rebuild it back to its original glory
Hey you guys. I love your iroc camaro! That thing is music to my ears, from idle to full throttle! That thing is amazing! Handles extremely well to. I have a 92 rs and making it an iroc clone. My question is; what cam and cam specs are you running? One more thing, did you guys do coil overs all around cause it looks like you all keep the springs in between the control arms?
This car features our Front Speed Kit 3 which uses JRI double adjustable struts and weight jacking springs. The rear is our QUADRALink™ rear suspension kit with double adjustable remote coilovers.

8500 on the limiter, we were told it can go up to 9000.
Holy hell that thing is a monster.
Surprized this hasn't been flagged for sexual content yet?
Hard to click with one hand.....
3:58 is pretty incredible
That thing is a Beast, "It will decimate all, once we overnight parts from Detroit"-"put it on Harrys tab"
Bahaha
Should've came like that from the factory
lol it would have been the fastest production car on the planet back then
makes sense,a half million dollar car in the 80s when everything else had 200 horsepower
that would have been funny if they didnt touch the vette just 200hp L98 700r4 pos and then this fire breathing camaro

That would be cool!
I had that exact thought!
@@detroitspeed whom is the driver for this video?
Listen to that glorious symphony of screaming bald eagles...
Thanks Cleetus
To gay...
@@motorman1873 so are u
I was like man there's no way in hell that IROC is going to catch up to that Viper then it just ate it for lunch
It's pretty good at doing that
If it was an ACR-E no way would he even get close. But great car.
More videos like this plz 👍🏽👍🏽
We'll have another shortly with the 6th Gen Camaro test vehicle from Holley Performance
Music to my ears!
My goodness - the engine sound is so amazing!! Damn!!
This irocz is just amazing, it says a lot when you pass a viper on the track!!
A Viper on Hoosiers at that.
I think I'll convert my '87 5.7 TPI IROC Z over to a Tremec 5-speed -- then.. I.. could really ROC
I saw that car at the F-body nationals last year. Awesome car, love the video.
Damn you guys have built the baddest racing machine second only to big red imo. That symphony the engine makes is truly awesome
Now THAT is a compliment! Thank you
@@detroitspeed thank you guys we hope to see more videos of this beast soon
I heard a sand car out at dumont dunes that sounded close to this. Sounds amazing.
Very cool!
That engine sounds amazing, Very awesome car!!
Thank you.
That redline is spine-tingling!

I think this maybe my 7 or 8th time listening to this clip wishing my 89 sounded like this.
Thanks for tuning in.
Is this s destroked LS3 ? These rpm’s are out of this world.
This is a de-stroked LS7. 388ci.
chasing down a Viper TA, goes to show you how potent this IROC DSE-Z is ! and I could listen to it rev up forever !
Ok so maybe there are a few worthy 80s Camaros out there. This is probably the best by far.
Crazy how fast he reeled that Viper in when he was all warmed up and going for it!
Sounds amazing looks amazing and drives amazing . Makes me want to get a I roc instead of a Vette
Pure ASMR to my ears!
Man, this thing screams, wicked. 👍👍🏁🏁❤️
8,500 rpm for the win!
Hot diggity damn!! Listen to that beast roar!
She's a beast.
I wanted you to pass that viper. Thanks!
Damn that things nasty just seen it on the hoonigan channel. That high rpm sounds vicious
It's a beast!
Love CMP. They have extended a lot of the curbing recently
Please eat some Porsche's next time but do video interviews of the drivers later... Hahaha
Reminds me when big red used to do that porshes and ferraris
He should get one of those redneck, Calvin peeing on stickers and put the porsche logo under it. Haha Very 80s IROC

Marcus, if you are interested in a build with Detroit Speed, please visit this page on our site: www.detroitspeed.com/custom-car-build-inquiry
Omg that noise is intoxicating
Imagine this thing going around the nurburgring
That would be sick!
How fast did you get up to on the straights ?
Is that platform lighter than a c6 z06?
Thanks
I do not know the number exactly, but this car can easily do 130-140mph at CMP. The DSE-Z is slightly heavier than a C6Z.
My dream is to build my 91 Z28 to this spec.
I always pretend I'm driving when I watch this! someday my IROCZ will be like this GOD!
What a screamer😲 I think I'll have to scratch the itch for a third gen
Does this car have any mufflers at all? Sounds amazing!
It has Stainless Works Resonators on it
You should put IROC-U on the doors!
I'm gonna need the specs on that engine because that is orgasmic.

@@calincampbell5637 It's worth it!
It gets no better than this!!!
Damn!!! I used to own a red Iroc with the 5 speed 305. Loved it. But this thing is insane. If I ever win the lottery, I'm calling you guys :)
305 remember when we thought those were bad ass motors? Lol
I imagine a build like this being well over 100k.
I still gots my Teal '91 305 5 speed! Sits in the garage, but I know if I sell it I'll immediately regret it.
@@fadedjate7230 really? I would guess half that on a safe guess
i was like 427, i feel so honored
Dream car
How the hell you deal with valve float and shit at such high rpms?
Solid lifters and a very, very light inconel and titanium valvetrain.
What would it take to have that same exact motor?
Call our friends at MAST Motorsports to find out.
There goes some of my kids inheritance.
What transmission is in it? He seems to shift insanely fast.
This is a Bowler Performance built T-56 Magnum.
With sequential shift
I want it eeyyyyy!!! NICE!!!!
It's one helluva car!
What is the brake set up on the camaro.
Tilton master cylinders with Baer 6R brakes front and rear.
@@detroitspeed thanks for the reply, I'm slowly trying to get my 91 right. Anything you guys can help with would be happily appreciated.

@@detroitspeed They put your logo on them too didn't they?
What did you guys do for air conditioning
This car doesn't have A/C. We did use a Vintage Air unit for heat/defrost.
Ten four it to hot here in Florida for no ac.lol
@@rudeboy6096 It's too hot here for no AC too, but we're still sweating it out!
Any ideas for that motor and ac
@@rudeboy6096 A vintage air unit would do the trick, but we don't plan to add AC

Sounds about right...
Is this what automotive porn is?
Yes, can confirm.
Shifts so clean they don’t even unload the suspension….
Good Golly!!!
🤪
