Bart is smart, he could figure things out and makes pranks. Most of the pranks that I never though of doing to anyone, he’s able to figure out some curtain situations, he could escape sideshow Bob. Learning from school isn’t his specialty, but he’s smart enough to be resourceful. The Simpsons actually mentioned about the problem of the school system when Bart gats an “F” which is actually true, he’s smart enough to be street smart.
Actually their was a episode showing Bart’s grades before he came a trouble maker he had all a”s if I remember correctly and it’s pretty much confirmed every Simpson has an above average iq. Look up the one episode where homer had the Crayon lodged into his brain and marge had her own episode I just forgot.

Homer did have OXIDIZE... but if you examine the board at 0:37 ... there was no place for him to put it all down anyway
Not and use all of his letters, but he could have used the "i" from "id" as the second "i" in "oxidize" and be left with just the other "i" to use in the next round. And the "z" in "oxidize" would make "zone."

@@DakariKingMykanWell, I was just looking at 0:37 where you said. At that time, what I posted was correct. Homer could have used Oxidize and created Zone with the Z, it just wouldn't have used all of his letters.
Plot Twist: Bart had a better score than Martin but swapped his name with Martin's paper.

@@dj-um7el It is, but only in production order. In airing order, it's not. It's actually the final episode of Season 1 in airing order.
In fact, that episode was supposed to and was originally meant to air as the first episode of the whole show on June 17, 1989 after being produced, but upon the first screening, the producers (Matt Groening & James L. Brooks) realized that the animation style was against what they wanted (they wanted a more semi-realistic approach of the animation for the show) for the show, as not only the animation was very rubbery and overly cartoony, but the designs and colors were also poorly done and were pretty prone to being off-model (even Brooks, one of the show's co-creators, declared the animation as "shit", or "a foul substance that causes disease"). It boiled up to the point where if this episode (as this episode was produced right after that, as the 2nd episode in production) turned out as bad, the series would be abandoned and cancelled, which would have made it an *extremely* short runner, but as you can see in this video, it was improved as only a few easily fixable mistakes needed to, well, fixed. After so, they decided to continue producing the show (which there still doing today after over 30 years) and redo 70% of that episode's animation, which was a task serious enough that by the time this show premiered in December of 1989, they STILL weren't done redoing everything yet until a little later. That's why the Christmas episode, which was the 8th in production, aired as the first overall episode, instead, and hence all why this is the first REAL episode instead. The redone and finished episode we all know and love today was finally aired on May 13, 1990, as the Season 1 finale.
The original screening/animation of Some Enchanted Evening is probably what you saw.

Man, Bart really did push Homer's button when he referred to Homer as a big, dumb, balding ape! And Marge only made matters worse when she pointed out Homer's short temper. And Homer holding a banana cements the joke.

@@ShyGuy83 It was more blatant in the Tracey Ullman cartoons. Here he is sort of transitioning, losing the nasally voice but not sounding quite as dopey as he does later on.

I was always really disappointed when this style of the opening came on TV as a child because I knew it was a series 1 episode and it was going to be shitty and weird 😅 the "YOU CAUGHT HIM RED HANDED" joke and Skinners weird teeth make me cringe my face inside out.

@@skaladarrellgodeater1070 If you think season 1 is anything but a cringe inducing mess then you're just being nostalgic for the sake of it. The Simpsons is completely unwatchable until some time in series 2, and that's being generous. It wasn't consistently good until series 3, and you know it.
