I loved how you emphasised throughout the video the concept of touch. This is so true as a shooter because you don’t always shoot the same everytime, you sometimes prioritise the feel over the ‘mechanics’ when shooting in game
Great drills. Thank you very much. I love how you show and talk the progress through misses. It is so important for younglings, to understand, that consistency comes with repetitions and missing is way to improve.
Definitely a Video I need for my personal coaching as of now. I coach so myself right now so correcting my mistakes with every shot with and open mind is great tip. MAKE MORE OF THESE VIDEOS JLAWBBALL! 🔥👌💯🙏
I wish I had this workout last year! I grew up in the 90s watching Jordan, Rip, Zo, Ewing, Webber, and other guys who worked from the post and midrange. Shooting too many threes got you benched! As a result, I never developed a high percentage three-point shot until last year, when I started trying to extend my range. Once I got the mechanics down for a deep three, I started consistently making regulation 3s (college, not NBA). So, even if you don't plan on bombing threes from the hash mark, practicing at the limit of your range will help you shoot better within your range.
I see how this helps with understanding my body, developing hand and arm feel, timing and energy production. I'm sure all this translates to better adjustments in-game and in practice, but does this replace spot shooting practice from 3? I've been form shooting and slowly increasing distance. I feel consistent 1 step inside the 3pt arc but have hit a plateau in distance. Do you have any suggestions for me?
Great vid. Keep it up coach. I have a question that Nobody want to answer .. are strobe glasses good for shooting? If the answer is yes, should it be during a limited time or use it as a warmup? Left eye is my dominant eye ,and i shoot with right hand. Thanks in advance.
I have a great online training program that teaches proper shooting technique from the ground up! Here you go! www.jordanlawley.com/online-basketball-training
1 exercise I do with my athletes is 5 consecutive jumps, and the ball doesn't touch the rim only net, for him to understand the correct arc to use on the position

And so important for other coaches to echo too! It’s not all about drills…it’s about our response to each shot we take

No, it supplements spot shooting from 3. Gotta build that muscle memory and your eye from each position!
Another great video, keep up the great work!💯
thanks, Luke!

I’ve used them for ball handling but never for shooting. I can see how they would help for certain shots tho!
