It will take time for all of us to get used to it but in a way, it's also nice to see them do their own individual things. We still see glimpses of them together.
honestly I never would've known you felt that way about your cooking before the past year!! I love your cooking vlogs and what I eat in a day vids - it's some of my favorite content that you publish. I am always so happy to see cooking show up in your vlogs, even for a moment. :') good luck with the surgery! make the most of your consultation appointment and ask allll the questions - great surgeons know how to blend information with positivity. thank you so much for keeping it so real w/ us, weylie!
Hi, I just took a double jaw surgery in December in Tokyo. I also had underbite problem since when I was a little. The night I had a surgery was a nightmare, but at the same time when I saw myself in mirror, I cried because I could bite in the right position for the first time in my life. And after 3 months, I can eat like completely normal :) My face looks different from before, I’m happy because I feel that I’m more healthier.
I've also been wanting to get jaw surgery too! I have a similar bite to yours. One thing to keep in mind if that your face will probably change quite a bit after getting the surgery in terms of overall face shape. So you'll probably look different after! Not a bad thing but you might be a little surprised when you look at yourself in the mirror and get adjusted to the new face. Also you'll lose quite a lot of weight because you won't be able to eat solid food for a few weeks. I'd recommend trying to gain some weight before surgery so your body doesn't die. Good luck!
I had jaw surgery and my face changed so much! In the beginning I was so confused when I looked at myself in the mirror! Feel free to message me on IG @charmainenyw if you have any questions ☺️
I love watching you because it makes me forget about all of the social media standards and expectations and it feels natural and homey and safe... weird to try to explain but that's my attempt.
I had upper and lower jaw surgery as well as a palate break, in 2018... I knew my whole life that I would have to get it, it was the most drastic change I've ever gone through. I was the biggest transformation that my Ortho & Surgeon had ever seen. I'd recommend it 100% to anyone thats thinking about it. You'll be so happy once it's done and it relieves a lot of the "what if" thoughts. wishing you the best❤️ love ya sis
I can relate with the jaw problems, underbites unfortunately run strong in my family as well. After countless appointments with orthodontists and surgeons I was told that just getting braces would be useless. I needed to get jaw surgery as well for it to be worth while. Basically they need to break your jaw and re-align, healing can take half a year or more. Know the risks of the procedure, make a list of questions to ask the surgeon. Ultimately, since I don’t experience any jaw pain or clicking I opted to not get the surgery. I’m not happy with how it looks physically but I just avoid smiling with my teeth in pictures. Best of luck to you girl 💓
Would love to see a video about your experience post-bc pill! I’ve been on it for 5+ years now and def don’t plan on taking it forever.... Very curious to learn more about what life can look like once you’re off, I feel like it’s not something that’s talked about enough, or at all really! 🤍 Your transparency is always appreciated, Weylie!
I hope she makes one! I want to see if my experience with birth control is common with others. When I got off the pill (4 years) I got pregnant within a month. After having my twins, I got on the iud and when I took it out after 2 years, it took me way longer to get back to normal and get pregnant again 😩
@@hotmomworld that makes me feel so much better. Ive been on it for 4 years and some months I hardly get my period and Im scared this will affect my ability to get pregnant in the future :( Idk if it actually has anything to do with it but idk why my period differs so much each month
Been watching your separate channels lately and it's nice to see you guys feature a little bit in each other's videos; the part when you talk about Wah saving food for you ahh, just as a viewer I'm rly glad to see you guys doing well and going strong. Wish you guys the best!
I had a pretty severe underbite and got double jaw surgery. I would highly recommend it and if you do, my only advice would be to be patient as your jaw heals from the swelling. It took me about 6 months to really have all the swelling go away. Getting the surgery did wonders to my self-confidence because before the surgery, I would always shy away from pictures and was really insecure about my flat face profile. Now I don't worry about that at all anymore and I'm really happy!
I would love a video about being off the pill. My bc really affects my mood and I would love to stop taking them but don't know of any other reliable alternatives.
I got jaw surgery in high school and it was the best thing i ever did! I had an under bite all my life and was so insecure about it, but with my supportive family they were willing to help me through the whole process
I'm also in the middle of consultations for jaw surgery! My jaw grew at a steep downward angle so I have a hard time closing my mouth comfortably (my mouth is slightly open when its relaxed). My ortho also said I'd have to wear braces for over a year before the surgery so I feel you, girl 😭 sending lots of love 💕💕
Wah is sooo sweet by saving you food!! I would say I'm definitely the Wah in your relationship lol, my boyfriend will definitely eat all his food before thinking of me unless we're sharing candy
Idk how to put this but watching you right now. It's almost like watching you guys today is like watching humanity heal. Especially when you talked about coming off of birth control, walking down the street. Something feels so replenished about you,im thankful!
WEYLIE! I have had the same issue for like 11 years except I have an anterior open bite. I have done massage therapy, chiropractic adjustments and I finally am seeing a TMJ specialist. After about two months of treatment I have seen more improvements than I have with anything else I’ve tried.
I had jaw surgery last year. Let me tell you!!! It is exhausting physically of course. But mentally even more. I went from being 97 pounds to 80. 😬 I don’t regret having my surgery as I had a severe underbite and jaw clicking. I love how I look and feel now but it took me a while to get there. It was definitely worth it. I do now have new obstacles of course from my new bite. I am now a clincher but nothing a bite guard can’t help. I say go for it !
I also have an underbite and am a month into recovery for double jaw surgery. Had it done at Mayo Clinic which was amazing but may be too far for you even if you go to the Phoenix one. Just so you know tho the process is super long, even just for full healing. The braces suck but they’ll need to move teeth and whether you have a wire or rubber bands, you will need something to keep your mouth in place while it solidifies and the braces are what that connects to. It may be different where you go but I have been almost completely pain free (though also numb) for all of this so it really isn’t as scary as it seems. The “breaking” also isn’t scary since it’s actually a super small slice. Ives had stitches for where they did this but they are dissolving and not leaving scars. If you do go thru with surgery, I hope you find a great doctor like I did (also make sure they do the surgery on a regular basis since many don’t) and I wish you the best of luck!
I got double jaw surgery 4 months ago and I had a very similar case to yours where I also had a severe crossbite, underbite, and crowding. Recovery was definitely a major experience with all the swelling and losing a lot of weight, but it’s all worth it in the end! Some tips that helped me out were planning out my meal/medicine plan prior to surgery and getting the essentials such as a bed wedge for elevated sleep, a humidifier, and a children’s toothbrush. It took some time to adjust to my new face, but I love the results and chewing/speaking is so much easier now. So excited for you I know your results will be amazing good luck Weylie!!
@@ellentran96 My surgery was actually fully covered by my insurance since it was for medical reasons, I just had to pay for the orthodontic treatment. I believe my procedure was around $40-45K though
love your vlog weylie 🥰 it always puts me in a good mood! my friend got a jaw surgery a couple years back from Dr.Breig at Kaiser (it looks like he’s no longer there 😕). he had a smooth recovery and returned to normal lifestyle after six weeks of eating liquid food. good luck with the surgery! i’m sure it’ll all be worth it!
My brother-in-law had jaw surgery last summer. He had an intense underbite and his teeth basically didn't make contact when he ate food. They broke his jaw and had to wire it shut. He basically ate using a straw for a few weeks. It sounds terrifying, but aside from the first week, he had a very good recovery. Not only is the underbite gone, he can properly chew and enjoy his food! :)
Unfortunately there aren't that many great alternatives. Most people are okay with them but there are some horror stories that include a lot of pain. There also aren't many non-hormonal forms of contraception.
I live in Germany, there are already a few alternatives I always had problems with the pill... I had the copper coil until november 2019 (3 years in total), I personally didn't like it at all! My period was stronger, as was my cramps, it came just as irregularly as before (sometimes too late, sometimes to the exact day, sometimes later) and I was always afraid that it would have slipped and that I might be pregnant! In november it had to be pulled because it caused uterine infection... the placing and pulling hurt, the pulling was even worse because of the uterine infection! since the copper spiral was out, I have painful ovarian cysts (otherwise I never had) -.- In the end I decided on the good old condom... my boyfriend is thinking about a vasectomy (we don't want children)!
As a dental assistant I completely understand where you are coming from. At the end of the day it’s you and your body. You have to do what’s best for you and only you know what’s best for yourself. I hope you are able to get what you need and may it all go well for you.
Miss the vlogs. While I don’t need jaw surgery, I enjoyed watching Shelby Church’s experience. Coming back! Yes do the BC video! Just a regular day in our lives!! Hearing your experience in the last 10 years would be help. I would like to eat the last bite but I give my boyfriend the last bite!
Good luck on your jaw surgery. I have had major jaw surgery and you will need a very good blender, ice packs, healthy food to blend, and patience as you heal. I bruised terribly like I had a purple beard and it took months for the swelling to go down.
I had double jaw surgery in high school to fix the same sort of crossbite issue -- I'm so glad I got it, eating is no issue now and I don't get sore jaw / lock jaw anymore. It's a hell of a recovery process though, took me 9 months to feel like I wasn't made of glass, and can be very painful. It's definitely worth it, but make sure you have a super strong support system in place for your recovery (and expect to be visibly swollen for 4 months).
Wow, I’ve been following since freshmen year of high school (about 7 years ago) and I did not know you had a underbite! I was born with an underbite and got braces to correct bite with the known future that I would eventually get jaw surgery. I got double jaw surgery in Seattle, WA my junior year of high school and this has been the best decision I did for myself. My recovery was uncomfortable alongside major swelling and getting tired of non-solid foods, but overall the results was worth every bit of discomfort. The biggest concern was lingering numbness which is varied by person. Personally, by month 6 I had most of my lower facial feeling back (chin being the last). You will lose a lot of weight, I lost about 20 pounds within a span of two months. Broth was a huge life savor mixed with anything and everything. Everyone is giving amazing recommendations and I know your experience will go great as well. I remember reading an entire blogpost of various stories of their own jaw surgery (with pictures) that may help as you are going through the same things! 💕
I had double jaw surgery in 2009 after my senior year in HS and I also have permanent numbness on the left side of my chin. No big deal though. And when it gets cold, my jaw feels stiff.
ive also gotten jaw surgery and the only advice i can give that i rarely see people give would be to bring/prepare wide collar shirts or ones you can button down and loose fitting clothes in general. that will make changing so much easier with a painful swollen face lol. also get a baby toothbrush and like others have said try to gain weight in preparation if u don't want to lose too much post op! other than that theres a lot of blog posts and videos online to get more helpful info!! good luck on your journey its gonna be hard but so worth it, love u weylie!!
I got jaw surgery in 2018 and it wasn’t as bad as I expected. If it’s anything like mine was, just expect some numbness for awhile. The worst thing for me was the headaches and just frustration with eating. You’ll do great though if that’s what you decide to do! 💛💛
I'm getting Orthonathic jaw surgery later this year ( upper and lower jaw movement). I have an underbite and cross bite. My front teeth don't touch almost at all. I have to have braces for 14 months. They have to put the braces on so they can put bands in to keep your jaw in place during healing. I've heard that it's totally worth it in the end and that people who get it done never regret it
Low key really miss WahlieTV vlogs (feels like my old friends moved away and I haven’t heard from them in a while) but happy to see you’re happy & doing well! ☺️
one of my rotations in dental school was at the hospital to watch those kinds of jaw surgeries. They're very methodical and truly life changing for the patients! I'm excited for you :)
I have an anterior open bite, so I can't bite through pizza, and when I wake up in the morning, my jaw's locked. I'm really looking forward to your jaw surgery journey. It will help so many people!
Yay! Love watching your vlogs! And that's awesome you're off from BC! I remember taking BC for about 4-5 years and I didn't want to keep taking it cause I don't like to rely on taking medications. But after taking proper supplements, eating healthy, feeling less stressed and working out actively, my period does come pretty naturally and I don't get terrible PMS like I used to. Hoping you'll feel good too now that you're off 💕
oh yay was so excited to watch this vlog and hear out the updates! glad that both you and Wah are much happier with the break on WahlieTv. you do you girl!
Underbite and TMJ pain be treated non-surgically in some cases! One option is to try physical therapy first, and if that doesn't help then maybe consider surgery. Too often people are referred for surgery right away when there are non-surgical/less invasive options available. Just some food for thought!
love your bougainvillea on your back porch. sorry that you are facing jaw surgery. its one of those things that you have to decide when to deal with the trauma of surgery vs pain of just being able to eat comfortably
I'm missing those vlogs with u and wah in it.. Miss those sweet moments.. Glad to catch up with u guys in Ur own channels, but hope you guys won't forget about the couple channel too 🤣
I looove that first outfit! And I have been living in lounge sets like that. That's something I never would have spent money on pre-quarantine, but since we're home all the time now, it just makes sense! Enjoyed this calming vlog :)
Hey Weylie. I wanted to chime in about jaw surgery. I had orthognathic surgery almost 10 years ago and have to say that it's not something to take lightly but I'm glad I did it. I had a severe overbite and the main concern is that because my teeth also didn't align, that I would start to lose my teeth at an early age (because there's no support while you sleep). So I had the surgery done. For me they had to "re-align" my bottom jaw (yes, they broke my bottom jaw on both sides just as they mentioned that they would probably do to you) and then had to wire my mouth shut for almost 2 wks after the surgery was done. Basically I "ate" all liquids during this time. Once the wires were removed, it took a while to regain my strength to chew but it all came back. I'm in the Bay and had a great surgeon. Do your research there as this is so important. I hope this helps. Take care!
Hi Weylie !!! just got this surgery one month ago but here in France. They cut the lower jaw to bring it front, cu the higher too to make it higher and cut the chin tho bring it front too. 2y1/2 of braces firt, then surgery, and now i'll have braces 1 more year. Super long, but that's for a better life !!! (only 5 teeth in contact before ...) The more difficult phase is just after surgery ... But I know that's for a better life !!! U can do it !!!
Love you girl! Trying to catch up with some of your videos and not sure if anyone else has to adjust the volume through earphones 6-8 times! Just wanted to let you know the audio with voice over and video are off . ❤️
How do you avoid clothes smelling like food after cooking? Or your house for that matter? I love food but hate the smell that lingers on my clothes or my house after!
it's crazy to just now realize you've been struggling with posterior open bite this whole time we've been watching your journey on youtube 😦 you are so brave for deciding to go for jaw surgery bc it sounds so scary lol but good luck at your oral surgeon consultation! also, giiiiirl I thought I was the only one when I would be eating every ounce of my snacks and my bf would look at me afterwards like did you save me any 🥺 LOL like why you gotta make me feel so bad and fat 🤣😩
I have the same issue with you. Had underbite and crossbite for 30 years and then had braces. But the bite after braces is so terrible! Almost no posterior teeth can touch, which caused jaw pain and cannot eat normal food. My orthodontist says I need to wear occlusial splint to find the correct and comfortable lower jaw position first. Then based on this position, I need to have braces again or even jaw surgery. It will be a very long journey, taking three years or even more. The worst thing is that if I go for surgery, this means my teeth have to move back to underbite in order to get jaw surgery. So the braces I’d had was totally waste of time. Hope you’ll find a good doctor to fix bite issue!
I always offer the last bite to my husband but he ALWAYS tells me to eat it because he says "you have it honey. I know you enjoy it a lot more than me" 🥺💖🥰
Finally you are back, have been missing.your video so much. It will be good get your jaw done and you are good for all too, since have been bothered. Take care.
If you could do a video about your getting off your birth control that would be awesome!! I’ve been on the pill for about 6 years now and I also started when I was 18. Honestly I’m tired of it. But I’m worried about my terrible periods coming back and also the acne 😭 I know you feel me on this so as someone who’s also dealt with acne how was your skin when you stopped taking your bc? Did you purge and break out or was it fine? Thanks ❤️❤️
woah.. i hope your healing process is fast for jaw surgery. i know its an expensive and long journey. please surround yourself with good people and keep your mental health high
yes! would love a video on the process of coming off birth control and whether you're considering any alternatives. has been a struggle area for me for the past 2 years ranging from crazy emotions, crazy skin and all that jazz 😔 because of what the pill did to my body, I'm scared to try any other forms of contraceptive.
Many of the options that use hormones are going to have side effects. If you choose nonhormonal, you have to follow the methods exactly or else they become less effective. I recently read Taking Charge of Your Fertility and that helped me understand my cycle better. I've still got an IUD but started charting my symptoms (basal temp and cervical fluid). Great read, recommend to anyone who has a period.
Weylie do you also take your basal temperature everyday to help with pregnancy prevention as a non-hormonal option? Because if so i’d love to hear about it
I've never commented on your channel, but I watch you because I also speak Cantonese and I like seeing your bunnies 🐇🐰(please feature more of them). To answer your question, even though I do 98% of the cooking (he does the dishes), my husband is the one in our relationship who saves me the last bite, gives me the prettier overeasy egg, and makes sure I'm satisfied. He's considerate that way, so I've kept him around since 2005. LOL, 😆 Personally, the non-hormonal copper IUD has worked for me for the past 13 years. Also, I like your clothing style. Thanks for your openness and positivity.
Good luck with your jaw surgery. If you can get through it, you can get through anything (including pregnancy labour pains). Have plenty of protein powder on hand to mix with liquids plus the jaw ice packs where you can tie around your head. At the end of it, you’ll be even more skinny AND likely to have slept through it. Not going to lie, it’s painful but worth it. All the best!!!

Please do a video on everyting to do with the pill. I've been thinking about stopping too, but I don't know anything about alternatives
Mmm, I had once spot contraceptives in Walmart. It’s a film you use to prevent pregnancy. Abstinence is also a good choice.

My period was stronger, as was my cramps, it came just as irregularly as before (sometimes too late, sometimes to the exact day, sometimes later) and I was always afraid that it would have slipped and that I might be pregnant!
In november it had to be pulled because it caused uterine infection...
the placing and pulling hurt, the pulling was even worse because of the uterine infection!
since the copper spiral was out, I have painful ovarian cysts (otherwise I never had) -.-
In the end I decided on the good old condom... my boyfriend is thinking about a vasectomy (we don't want children)!
IUDs last up to 5 years, there’s also the arm implant too. You can get them at planned parenthood :)
@@wolfferoni Indeed, and if I stop the pill it would be because of the hormone intake... but no decent alternative...
My sister got jaw surgery last year. She is beyond happy! It’s been a process but she has less headaches and overall seems happier.
Your home doesn't look like old at all. It's cozy and you made it look modern. O I love the color of floor! Cute dogs and loving couple!
I've heard that it's totally worth it in the end and that people who get it done never regret it
I loved the cozy vibe of this video, and the music!
Do you know the song at the end ? 🤗
@@jaelw839 Hi, sorry I didn't see this comment sooner! I tried looking it up on my phone and it's called "Julia's Toes" by Citrus Avenue!
Wow I feel so connected with other people recommending Shelby Church lol.
Nothing makes my heart flutter like seeing a weylie vlog notification🤩❤️
Good luck Weylie with the surgery! Sending you well wishes and hoping this will make you feel great again!
I suffer with TMJ so be interested to see how it helped you
Bring the vlogs back pleaaaaaase we miss you guys so much 😩
We're here for your new journey!
Your period/ BC story sounds exactly like what I experienced!! YES PLEASE on that video!!
Weylie and Wah's vlog was the first vlog i ever watched years ago. I missed u guys a lot. hope everything is well ♥️
Check our Shelby Church’s series on her recent jaw surgery. She’s in LA, too.
Exactly what I was gonna recommend. She did a great job documenting the process!
I had orthognatic surgery and giiiirl, let me tell you!!!! I've never experienced anything worse but it was all worth it 💕
I have an anterior open bite, so I can't bite through pizza, and when I wake up in the morning, my jaw's locked. I'm really looking forward to your jaw surgery journey. It will help so many people!
Also, I'm interested in watching a period video! And can you share what masks you use, they look like they have a good fit!
Hoping you'll feel good too now that you're off 💕
please do more! this was so so comforting and relaxing to watch 😊
oh yay was so excited to watch this vlog and hear out the updates! glad that both you and Wah are much happier with the break on WahlieTv. you do you girl!
Love that pink cardigan! The button details are super cute
Underbite and TMJ pain be treated non-surgically in some cases! One option is to try physical therapy first, and if that doesn't help then maybe consider surgery. Too often people are referred for surgery right away when there are non-surgical/less invasive options available. Just some food for thought!
I missed you so much! Catching up with the vlogs 🤍
love your bougainvillea on your back porch. sorry that you are facing jaw surgery. its one of those things that you have to decide when to deal with the trauma of surgery vs pain of just being able to eat comfortably
So happy to see you!! Missed the vlogs ❤️
Enjoyed this calming vlog :)
love you weylie! ❤️ thanks for adding joy to my morning 🥰
This video was edited so nicely and was so calming 😌 I just loved the whole vibe! I love your vlogs!!
(only 5 teeth in contact before ...)
The more difficult phase is just after surgery ...
But I know that's for a better life !!!
U can do it !!!
Hi Weylie. I am interested in the rug. Where did you get it from? Thank you. 🤗
Such a calming, positive vlog.. I have the same issue with my jaw, good luck with the surgery!
I think the vent hood helps a lot! I have it on the highest setting while I cook. I usually leave the windows open for a bit after cooking as well!
Good luck on your jaw surgery im really happy for you. Can't wait to see the result.
I’ve missed these vlogs! So glad I got my Weylie and pup fix❤️
Thanks Weylie for inspiring me to keep making content! Stay safe!!
it's crazy to just now realize you've been struggling with posterior open bite this whole time we've been watching your journey on youtube 😦 you are so brave for deciding to go for jaw surgery bc it sounds so scary lol but good luck at your oral surgeon consultation! also, giiiiirl I thought I was the only one when I would be eating every ounce of my snacks and my bf would look at me afterwards like did you save me any 🥺 LOL like why you gotta make me feel so bad and fat 🤣😩
Thanks ❤️❤️
I would definitely love a more in depth video about you stopping birth control pills!!
woah.. i hope your healing process is fast for jaw surgery. i know its an expensive and long journey. please surround yourself with good people and keep your mental health high
yes! would love a video on the process of coming off birth control and whether you're considering any alternatives. has been a struggle area for me for the past 2 years ranging from crazy emotions, crazy skin and all that jazz 😔 because of what the pill did to my body, I'm scared to try any other forms of contraceptive.
Because if so i’d love to hear about it
Yes, Shelby Church!! She just had jaw surgery and vlogged everything. It was super informational!
you are always so honest with us
Where is the rug from??! 😭 And which store is the pot from??
Awww that Weylie + Michi moment melted my heart
even though i miss wahlietv. I still support this channel and wah's channel. love you both! And I will always keep supporting you both ♡.
I need that video please!!! I recently also just got off the pill for health reasons and am scared for my first “natural” period in 10 years
I loved this vlog so much😩😩😩🥺🥺Thanks Weylie🤗🤗
Missed your vlogs, Weylie! Thanks for filming ❤️
