After a few minutes of dreamless shifting, you suddenly wake up with a jolt, and see a knife coming down towards you. The memory of Xaio’s words scream in your mind, and you do what comes natural. “XAIO!” Immediately, the adepti takes out your attacker and looks down at you. His golden eyes were cold, but they seemed soft too. He didn’t take his eyes off you for a while as you sat there, shaking like a leaf. “Are you alright?” He asked after a while. You nod, and try to calm down. That night, Xaio stayed outside your house to make sure no one else got in. You get ambushed by monsters (close call): It was raining and you were running back to Liue for shelter. As you were rushing back, an incredibly powerful monster noticed you. It stayed in the shadows and waited for the perfect time to attack. Before you were in the open, the monster jumped out and made an ear splitting sound. You immediately realized: it was an electro. And you were wet. The monster unleashed countless lightning attacks as you attempted to dodge them, barely time to even breathe. As you grew tiered, a bolt of purple electricity struck your entire body. You let out an agonizing scream, and call for help. Once again, Xaio came at just the right moment. This time, his mask was on. It allowed him to kill the monster faster then anything you’d seen before. He immediately turned to you when he was done. “WHAT WERE YOU THINKING WALKING HERE ALONE AT A TIME LIKE THIS?” His words might sound harsh, but you could have sworn worry was evident in his words. “It started raining so suddenly, I didn’t have time to find anywhere else to wait it out” He sighs and pinches the top of his nose. “Humans are so weak, but I never thought they could be stupid too” “HEY!” Xaio arrives late, but you manage to survive: You were in a fight with multiple people. One wrong move could cost you your life. They were fast so you could only focus on fighting. Although you were begging someone to help you even if you couldn’t say it. One of your attackers struck you from behind, leaving a nasty cut on your back. They kicked you harshly to the ground and you fell with a hard thud. That’s when you muttered his name again. “Xaio... help me...” This time the adepti waisted no time getting to you. He took out the group in no time and ran to your side. “Y/N! Stay with me!” He said, trying to hide the fear and worry in his voice. He didn’t have to worry about his face because you couldn’t see him, but it was obvious that he was terrified. He did everything to stop the bleeding, and brought you to someone for more help when he managed to get it to stop. It was because of this you survived. And Xaio promised himself to never leave your side again. He didn’t know it, but he was beginning to love you the more he could see you. And so were you.

You leaned on the handle of the your sword, you didn't feel like moving, your back ached and your head spun. Best stay still for a moment. A musty yelp sounded near by, you jolted up suddenly, much to the resistance of your sore muscles. You whip your head from side to side, your hair flipping around with each movement. You grasp your swords handle and pull, whatever was there you had to be ready. But it wouldn't budge. Panic surged through your body as the sounds of the supposed enemy neared closer. You pull harder and harder, desperation on your mind. But it was to late. A large Mitachurl slamed into you, a dark horrifying glow came from it. You scream in terror as it lifts its large flame dipped axe. You accept fate, it was your foolish fault for digging your sword into the ground. It's only natural that you should get consequences. But before the axe peirces your skin, a cloud of dark and pale teal fills the air. Only after a moment do you realize that the monster is slain. You lay, propped up on your elbows, panting. You look up, fear, curiosity, and admiration rise in your brain. A young looking man stood there, his spear clasped tightly in his rough hands. He turned, his oddly colored hair moving in his face, "foolish human," he spat, "Out late here in the wilderness! And without a weapon! Do you have a death wish?" You tremble as you get to your feet, his cold gaze stabbing into your soul. But indignation lined your words as you speak, "I have a weapon!" You retort, "It just got stuck in the ground!" You point to your sword, it still stuck. He stares at it then scowls, "Get out of here mortal, it would be safer." You stare at him, "But I haven't even said thank you! You saved my life!" "There you said it." He hissed, flipping his spear so that it was pointing at you threateningly. You frown, "What was the matter with that monster?" It was obvious that the weird man didn't want to talk, but you couldn't help but want to hear him speak. He was magnificent. He narrowed his eyes at you, not answering your question. "Mortals are so weird, if you knew who I was, you would turn running." You shook your head, "But I don't, what is your name?" He scoffs again, and then lowers his spear, "It is Xiao, Adeptus Xiao."
This entire playlist is masterfully compiled but something about Wish's lyrics in relation to Xiao just makes my heart ache for this poor boy. The repetition of 'I don't know how to wish anymore.' feels so very Xiao that I can practically hear him saying it.
i like how this starts with freddie dredd, i fuckin love his music and think it is really good for xiao idk just personal preference lol, but as soon as i saw it had freddie dredd it immediately became one of my favorite playlists.
