Watching the guys play on this course and even some of the women with the South Carolina golf team i feel like this is my home course ive never seen. Wish them all the success with Solina.
Since the inception of the project I wondered who the money man/men were behind the project. The bros are successful RUclipsrs and Wesley (hopefully) has been able to invest some of his winnings but no way they could foot the bill for this project. Awesome to hear the story of a successful local business person catching the same vision to this extent.
To build a top golf course from scratch, not including land acquisition starts around 10 million. Add in land, maintenance buildings, clubhouse, bathrooms on course, beautification, etc and you’re over 25-30 in a heartbeat
Do you put any environmental priorities in place when making the course such as wildlife areas and no damaging chemicals ? I've seen some awful damage to coastal areas here in Scotland to create golf courses . No disrespect at all, just a question that has been going through my mind recently. Really enjoy the podcast .
Modern golf management has to include environmental planning, both flora and fauna, but also effective water management. In the southern UK golf courses are often green havens in towns and cities. Courses are also increasingly shared spaces for walkers, and nature lovers alike. I sat on the board at my club, we met monthly with the local preservation society, volunteering to manage habitat encouraging wildlife and local flora.
You really think that to redevelop that much land back into not only a golf course but a championship level golf course doesn’t cost that much is wild to me
You obviously don’t know what it cost to build anything. A million or two just for the men and equipment to do the grading, clearing, etc. A typical par 4 has to be what 1.5-2 acres, you’re touching every inch of 30 plus acres of land. My area one truckload of good sand is probably $500. How much in sand, seed, sod. I had an excavating and paving company for 10 years, asphalt is expensive as $hit, they’re replacing all the paths and I would assume the parking areas also. Start adding all the pipe, fittings, pumps, etc for the water system. Looks like a couple mil on the clubhouse, good salary for a couple guys to manage the project and the plans/engineering and all the permits aren’t cheap either.
Instead of writing a novel of gibberish, look at the total cost to build Paynes Valley. It was raw land on a mountain before they started. Now back in the gopher hole.
That half mile long bridge is truly wonderful.
I thought it was 1.5 miles long?

First time seeing the bros on a pod! Best in the game
Hard earned, fantastic to see the growth! Only been following for less than a year, very big congratulations to the bryan bros
I cant wait to play Solinas. From Homestead, Florida. Love Bryan Bros and learned of Peter Finch when I followed Golfholics.
Big Cat and Coach were the first RUclips golfers I followed. I miss those guys.
I will be trying to play golf there this summer only a couple hours from tiger ga
Gotta be a better way to frame that shot that doesn't include George's Temu crocs n socks

Is there any chance you can get Greg on? Would love to 'meet' that guy. He deserves some golf course love.
Random question but were you in spennymoor in County Durham at the weekend?
So that is what they spent. Wow.
When done, this will be quite a golf facility.
Can’t wait to see the dream realized 👍🏻
Winners produce Winners. You build it they will come. Maybe you will have a RUclips tournament.
Love you guys ❤️⛳️👍
Are y'all through with 18 holes
Is it ginger English Greg? He’s such a legend
Geez, these guys didnt even pay for the course. Must be nice.
George is older???????
Yes the older brother of wesley
15 million is ridiculous.
And that’s just for the first 10 holes. I don’t think they have done much of anything with the buildings yet.

I was going to diss yall for the leg folding, but realized i was doing it while typing this.
Died lol
Lol
For anyone not wanting to watch the whole video, Greg has paid $15M and counting so far.
Who's greg
These guys are going to lose a FORTUNE
Very real possibility indeed. Hope it's not the case but I do think a LOT of golf courses are losing money year over year
Golf courses are a very long term investment
Did you even listen to it? They have a benefactor who is paying for it.
This course will flop….it’ll be a public muni by 2026
@@MichaelWoods-fc8me Trying to imagine why a person would write something like this and gave up. It isn't worth knowing.
