If it helps the razors cuff fit right on perfectly If you need a little more flex. The Aeon cuffs too but you need extra 3rd part bolts for those.

Two sessions in and I can say I am in love with them. Probably the most perfect fit I ever had for my foot. Locking in tricks very good. Riding them with creates, royal is a breeze. I think I found my favorite skates.

The guys from Loco Skates didn't have any problem with top sides or royals or anything. It was even number 3 in their recently released Top 10 aggressive skates list. Very impressive for a first offering in the market!

Just got a set of the same boots myself. My first intuition liners as well. Only had a chance to ride them with my K2 R100s so far and they felt OK. I needed to add an insole to the liners to get them to fit nicely but more than happy so far. Skatepark on the weekend so going to try them with some Kizer Slimline frames and see how they handle that.

Great Video as always! Love my UFR for aggressive as well as without a soup late with freeride frames! One thing I think is great about them and clearly shows the thought put into all FR Skates: All the bolt heads on the inside for the shell are covered to protect the liner!!! :) I don't think any other skate company does that! Oh and the THEM Intuition is a bit thicker then the FR Intuition!

The UFR is an Anthony Pottier pro skate btw, it’s the UFR AP. His signature is on the back of the cuff. When the companies split Anthony was on FR and CJ Wellsmore on Seba. I don’t think it’s particularly strange they’d need to make an aggressive skate with such a prominent pro skater on the team. I have a pair of the UFR AP and they are fantastic, I’ve skated the seba Fr1 before and it felt like it was begging to have a soul plate added to it. Just wanted to point out that it’s a pro skate as I don’t think you or Ben mentioned it on the most recent podcast either

    • @JaumeAguileraBadia

@@JaumeAguileraBadia The skate featured in this video is the Anthony Pottier pro skate. He kinda gets 3 pro models, they are all the same shell though! The boot only UFR AP intuition (the version shown in this video), the boot only UFR AP with thicker liner and finally the UFR AP with thicker liner, flat frame and FR wheels. Hope that helps! ✌️

The intuition liner in this skate is cheaper build then the normal standalone liner.

That is true as they don't have the detachable wraps, but the benefit (for some people) is they're supposed to fit a little more snug compared to the V2 and Premium liners, especially in the toe box, so they maybe a better fit of those people with less volume in their feet.

Hey Lawrence, just as info for you, you saw many times if you order the standard liner you get a bigger shell. Thats wrong.
you have the 43.5 - 44 intuition version thats the same shell as 43-44 standard liner, only if you order the 43 size intuition you will get the 41-42 shell. your shell are the same as the 43-44 standard liner shell. hope you understand what I mean :)

FR makes big wheel frames for that skate. No need to go aftermarket when you can buy something made specifically for that boot. Great company with good functional products. I haven't heard anything bad from these other than the stock liners being puffy and huge. That's how FR liners have always been so the intuition is the way to go for that thinner, size down fit.

I wish I could join these Gear Talk episodes, but at the time they are on, it's 2am in Portugal and I have to work next day. The good thing is that I have something awesome to watch during breakfast 😄
BTW, I have the lastest Seba CJ Carbon and I was having a hard time landing royales, so I've learned that you can replace the cuff with the new Aeon soft cuffs with no mods needed, so I did just that and now I land my royales with no problem. the same goes for the FR cuffs, since they are the same cuffs as the Seba. Hope this helps!
My setup: Seba CJ Carbon (latest model) removed 45º strap, Aeon soft cuffs moded to fit Kekoa Velcro strap, Adapt soul frame, Trigger Freerocker v2 frames moded to fit 68mm wheels. LOVE IT!

Getting back into blading(pun intended), I've noticed that the sizing schema most companies use is just awful and not very user intuitive even when using mondo. Especially when you learn how the boot size differs vastly from shoe size, which has been the case for some time. But with all the new products(liners etc) and options, there should really be a universal system for people to use across manufacturers, so as consumers we don't have to deal with the hassle of fighting with online retailers for returns / exchanges for sizing issues. Sadly blade / skate shop dont exist. At least within 3k miles of me lol

I have a very biiiig question about these soul plates
I think they are pretty wide but I dont know if these would fit my genesis. There some "triangular things" in the middle of the soul plate and I dont know if these are desinged to fit only on the FRs
I like my genesis, because they fit so well (my foot size is a huge problem) and I dont know which soul plates would fit a genesis so i can lock better on grinds
Maybe Xsjado 2.0? But they arent available in size 48...

I watched this again tonight, great live stream! I actually ordered the last pair of these UFR Intuition boots in my size today, and got them specifically for the Intuition liners to go in my FR1 skates. Everywhere has been out of the FR1 Deluxe Intuition skates for a while in my size, but I figured I could use these liners, and have an extra setup to go urban skating, with the ability to do sole grinds along the way. I also noticed that this version of the FR Intuition liner has black on the outside, where as the FR1 Deluxe Intuition has light grey on the outside, so I'm pretty happy as it will not only appear cleaner over the long term, but will also match my black FR1 skates better.
I went for these instead of the Intuition Premium and V2, because I've heard a number of people say that the Premium and V2 tend to be a bit more roomy, especially in the toe box. I have pretty low volume feet, though slightly wide, when is why I went for the UFR versions. These don't have the detachable wraps on the back, as they're sewn in, but I'm hoping that the fact they are made of the FR shell means that the fit will be good... They also have a lot more size options compared to the V2, but the Premiums also have a lot of size options. I'd rather a liner that fits, as opposed to a liner will lots of premium options that doesn't fit.
I believe that shell is essentially the same as the FRX shell, which is their entry level skate, the only difference being they built up the mounting area under the heel to make it UFS compatible. My guess is it was probably cheaper to retool an existing mold than to create a new one (at least that's how it works in the toy industry), so I think this skate is the way it is probably due to cost saving measures... which makes sense if you're testing the waters of the aggressive world to gauge the level of interest. I hear that FR are going to be bringing out an updated version of this, and also more UFS frame options, so that will be interesting to see. The FRX has basically the same boot and plastic as the FR1,2 and 3, but the other skates has more options like cuff bolts that can position the cuff in multiple directions, upgraded straps and hardware, metal mounting plates on the FR1 and 2 etc. Still I've heard the FRX is a pretty good quality skate, so this still seems like a good deal, especially the deal you got.

  • @BrandonShatley
    @BrandonShatley 2 года назад +1

I made room for my toes in the Mesmer liners by sticking a broom handle up into the toe area and stretching out a little area for my big toe to live in. Made a huge difference for me. The shell is still too big vs the liner, but at least I could fit the liner then.

I ordered myself a pairs of TF Gawds after watching this from Oak City. Based on what was said here I asked Long if he could swap out the Prime liner for a Fatboy which he kindly did without question. Unfortunately for whatever reason the Fatboy didn't do it for me. I heat molded them, tried different insoles, you name it. I almost gave up on that skate. I ended up reaching out to Long & he suggested I try the liner that it was supposed to come with, after all that's what sets that skate apart from it's predecessor. He just happened to still have the original liner & I paid an additional $130 for that Prime liner. Once I popped that Prime liner in... Well I'll be damned. It was perfect. Just because it doesn't have this copious amount of dense foam doesn't mean it's a bad liner. They wouldn't have put it in a $630 Iqon boot if it wasn't any good. Point being, your opinion is just that...an opinion but the way you voice and word your opinion, it comes across as fact more than opinion. People alue your opinion more than the average Joe because of your history within the industry & when it comes to frames then sure, you just might know more than most but when it comes to how a skate feels and fits, that's all subjective no matter who you are.
