Jaguar has a tradition of building fantastic handling cars for real life conditions. Driven lots of cars of different manufacturers but Jags do feel special and alive. I can pressure my Jags in corners where a family car would understeer into oblivion but the Jags just responds like no other car. As evident in the video. No understeer, just grip and excellent feel.
Should have been over 2 laps and they should have done a lap in each car for a more balanced result ..Jason Plato would have won no matter what car he drove
Pricing for both is insane. All of the little luxury SUVs are now over $80K for the hopped up version. Tesla’s Model Y Performance is suddenly looking like a good deal.
Not impressive review. Why doesnt the same driver driving each on turn instead of different drivers?! The only important test for these perofrmance SUVs is the track test. The interior test is not important since you get the same ambience with lesser engined models inside. Likewise the muddy test is irrelevant for these very powerful fast road SUVs.
Somewhat fun to watch, but not fair!! For this to be fair, it should have been done w/ the same driver (and keen to win on both cars)! And tyres. One driver is certainly slower and less experienced...
The first time I’ve seen a Stelvio QV loose, the Jag is fantastic but has no chance against the Alfa except on ride quality. The QV is arguably the best handling SUV on the market? All down to the driver I suppose. Both great efforts to make desirable SUVs. Should have both taken turns in each.

Absolutely!! Also it’s like they triyng too hard to bring back the so old so tired crap jokes about Alfa... For instance the reason that Alfa understeered on this ocasion is purely bad driving. Coming too hot into a corner and trying to turn sharply on greasy conditions, instead of slow in fast out applying the torque and allowing the traction to work it’s magic like Jason did on the Jag.
Besides, if you knew us “brits” well, you’d realise that (bizarrely) slagging off our own products and buying from Europe, preferably Germany, is something of a national pastime 🙁

That's not an SVR! What type of sound is that, and the Alfa is going in wayy too hot into those corners, no wonder it understeers so much
