Sorry, but the absolute best part of Bloomburrow for me is the army of crackhead raccoons running around this children’s story book setting. Look at the art on Junkblade Bruiser. That raccoon is charging into battle carrying a big stick and is literally ON FIRE. We’re talking 2am dumpster diving behind the Waffle House on a Wednesday kind of crackhead energy and I love it. They truly are trash pandas, and I am here for it.
I dont even care what the precon for the raccoons does. it's gruul, and I'm going to smash things.

Flubs seems like he quickly becomes "not a joke" if he gets consistent access to scrying effects. 'Awwww' becomes 'Storm count 9'

Return the Past would be great for the Flashback angle. You’ll probably want things that can recur enchantments to be on the safe side though.

I'm honestly a little upset that we aren't getting all of the legends in this set with alternate arts themed around the most famous tarot deck framing. Maha, It's Feathers Night? The Moon, easy. Beza, Bounding Spring? The World. Glarb, Calamities Auger? The Hierophant. So many options, and it would sell so fast.

I feel like flubs is basically just going to be an in commandzone song of creation for a combo deck. But the more i think about it its easier said than done because its super easy to brick into a land in commander. I love his art also depicting him exactly like the fool in tarot

I already brewed a cEDH food chain deck with flubs at the helm. As you make infinite creature mana, you also loot through your deck until you find underworld breach and it's pretty straight forward from there
Flubs wants a bigger pond, but doesn't really know what he'll do once he has it, but he clearly doesn't care about those silly details

Out of the pure randomness this deck is:
a- difficult to build
b- difficult to play
Absolutely Amazing
His floor is draw 2 for free every turn, and his ceiling is cast your entire deck in a single turn. That's not difficult to build OR play. It's literally ramp dot deck.
@@dontmisunderstand6041 I think you're missing the glaring flaw in how that works out. If he makes you always draw to 1 card, that means whenever you start a new turn, you will draw to two cards from your draw step. At this point, you can play ONE land/spell before your turn ends. You need to build around this because it will happen literally every other turn.
@@alexanderblixt1221 I do understand the "flaw". I also understand that it still averages out to the best card advantage engine ever printed in Magic: The Gathering. Yes, if you throw in 0 instant speed effects and no other draw sources, extra casting effects, abilities that discard cards from your own hand, you will get a sub-par 2nd turn. However... that's not exactly a huge downside if you stop to think. You will accidentally synergy your way out of those dead 2nd turns without having built your deck around doing so a fairly substantial amount of the time, because of how many different ways there are to do so. Not only that, the potential of the commander shutting down your own turns may trick your opponents into letting him live. I think we can both agree that's a mistake that definitely feels like a calculated risk many players would take.

There's literally no way this card isn't extremely powerful in every deck it can be put into. "Draw a card every time you play a card" is quite possibly the most powerful single effect in the game.

@@HeraldOfOpera In a metagame where you need to cast several instant speed answers on other players' turns, that drawback matters... unless you're the player that's forcing the need for those several instant speed answers. In which case, this little frog gives you the easiest way to outpace them.

@@bobwilson679 "At the beginning of your end step, discard your hand". That line is what makes Song of Creation niche. The frog has no real downside to speak of, and requires significantly less (arguably no) build-around to take advantage of its upside.

As soon as I saw this boy I was in brew mode, Temur has always been my shard and this is the most fun looking commander since Riku, who was the most fun since old Riku.
i remember the first time i put song of creation into a deck and watched the sheer lunacy that came of that. This frog is song of creation in the command zone so I'm all for it.

I had a library of leng deck built for multiplayer that focused on "each player discards" effects. Was fun and goofy. Love that stupid card.

The instant I saw Flubs I knew I had to try and make him. The biggest downside to him - and when you're really leaning into the three-legged dog archetype - is on every other turn when you draw a card on your draw step, get up to 2 cards, and can only do 1 thing that turn

Everyone says "Aww, cute" until they remember the litany of cards in those colors that basically amount to "Play this thing from your deck", meaning you can be that army vet hobo THAT HAS NO HANDS.
Even if I have to do it myself, I will make people see the utter jank that is Flubs, and how he amounts to Guile spamming Flash Kicks to the sack so fast it's a never-ending Sonic Boom on your balls.

Retreat to Coralhelm and Walking Atlas when hellbent if you can stack the top of your deck with lands via something like Soothsaying is gonna be freaking EPIC.
First and only commander deck I will play with a Bloomburrow commander until I can slam my deck into the table, flip this frog man, and evoke fear amongst my play group. I will not be deterred.
So here is the thing, everyone from bloomburrow is fully sentient, everyone can agree on that. And if Auntie Blyth can get the koala hug situation then I think any and everyone from bloomburrow should be on the table. Also if you went to bloomburrow to give it you would also be an animal so that makes it even easier.
I could see this being a tricky little madness commander...

This. This is the entire reason I want blue in my gruul. Card draw for days and just wild shenanigans, heart of the cards random-bullshit-go! energy.
The thing about Flubs is that the land effect is a complete misdirect. The second effect is the spice, the amount of insane stuff you get to with this effect is maybe the greatest draw for a commander possible. There is nothing you can do to keep up your card advantage, but what if you just exiled every card instead? It's the best card from Bloomburrow and it's a goddamn box topper.
You're misreading it. Flubs is infinite cards. If you have 1 card in hand, you play it and have 0, then his ability goes on the stack. You have 0 cards so draw 1. Now you have 1 card in hand. You play it and have 0, then his ability goes on the stack. His FLOOR is a draw 2 every turn. And his ceiling is play your entire deck this turn. "There is nothing you can do to keep up your card advantage" is incorrect... the only way to LOWER your card advantage is to play cards that draw you more cards.

I mean, that effect only happens if your commander is out. If you are facing against a player whose plan is "Beatstick" or you do anything to guarantee sacrifice triggers like High Market, you could pay your due, start the game with more lands than other players, AND still make strategies in the late game once your lands have been developed, sans a commander.
This is that wednesday tribal commander cause youll be going AHHHH a lot with this deck
I've already built three decks around this guy and I have to say he's an absolute blast to play whichever way you run him.
Now we need a full Major Arcana cycle
