Nose-to-nose with a lioness!

On Friday 3 March 2023, Bristol Zoo Gardens’ two asiatic lions, Sahee and Sonika, left Bristol for their new home at The Big Cat Sanctuary.
Ahead of the big move, the lions were crate trained to ensure they would be safe and comfortable when being transported.
This is what happened when we put a camera in the crate with lioness Sonika!

I hope they do well at their new home. I'll miss seeing Lions at Bristol Zoo when it reopens at the Wild Place Project.
