4 a.m. it's time to get up, 4:45 a.m. departure to arrive on site around 5 a.m.
After 20 minutes of walking with the 13 kilo floating mount to carry and a bag with the Canon R7 and the RF200-800 it is time to install everything.
Then you have to swim about 100 meters to reach the middle of the pond of several hectares in surface area because it is here that life is mainly organized.
Then you have to stay on your knees for a few hours with sometimes sand, sometimes mud or sometimes pebbles... Who prefers sand... -)
The light is having difficulty breaking through the clouds, the first showers are arriving.
You have to go up in ISO and wait, photographing and taking videos in the early hours of the day in these conditions is not easy.
But what a spectacle, the physical fatigue, the cramps and the occasional pain are quickly forgotten.
I approach a pair of stilts meter by meter, crawling on my knees, so that I can observe them for a while, just listening to their song is a delight.
There is a territorial dispute behind me between black-headed gulls and common terns in the distance a King Fisher stops for a moment to observe.
Several redshanks are looking for something to eat, they are lively and observing them is a real pleasure.
After about 4h30 spent in the water it is time to return, on the way back, with fatigue, the 20 minutes carrying the floating hide take on yet another dimension but regardless I leave with a heart full of wonderful memories and filled with gratitude.

My daughter and I have a R7 and are waiting delivery of the RF 200-800 lens. I have been reading mixed reviews of the lens and I've waited until recently to purchase it...
I see no issues with the video or stills in your videos here... Perhaps there are too many spoiled camera equipment reviewers on RUclips that don't appreciate what they have...

Indeed a lot of criticism on the R7 and the RF200-800 because indeed nothing is perfect!
But put in good hands this equipment will allow you to take magnificent photos and beautiful videos.
You made the right choice!
Often people who criticize are used to much more high-end equipment so they only understand that equipment 2 to 6 times cheaper does not offer the same performance.
Someone who uses a 600mmF4 will of course find the RF200-800 not very bright. Likewise, someone who is used to an R5 3 times more expensive at the base will have a hard time understanding the differences.

Salut Ludo alors moi je te dirais que je préfère le sable parce que les galets quand ils sont verts ça glisse et bing !! Je t'envie de pouvoir faire de l'affût flottant c'est malheureusement impossible pour moi à cause d'un soucis de santé. A cette heure là ce n'est que du bonheur même si il faut mettre le réveil de très bonne heure ! De mon côté en ce moment je suis sur le terrain vers 6 h 30 car dans le marais près de chez moi il y a une nouvelle espèce qui vient de s'installer et qui fait un peu trop de bruit a mon goût ! Les touristes 😁. A cette heure là au moins ils sont encore au fond du lit c'est donc une très bonne chose 🥰. J'ai photographié hier un chevalier guignette, des échasses blanches juvéniles, un chevalier arlequin plumage nuptial et un héron cendré qui se fait attaquer par des mouettes rieuses. Il y a de la vie dans le marais chaque jour est un recommencement. J'attends avec impatience la naissance chez les grèbes huppés. Bravo pour ta vidéo un régal pour les yeux et les oreilles.
