Its a very good and high quality rod. I use 7 wt 10 ft for seatrout fishing in sweden. It can stand the wind and casts great with rio coastal seatrout line. The only drawbacks are the weight and swing weight which are on the heavy side despite the name "ultralight"
Love this rod - seems to love the amplitude mpx line too! Fished in high winds here in the uk and was able to get a line out - not as stiff as the sage igniter or the Orvis Helios 3D. Very happy with my purchase
Great review Ben. Out of the Ultralite and Ultralite X, which do you think would be a better choice for a dedicated stillwater rod, fishing from the bank?
We have a sheet, it's not super complete/well organized, but here's the link: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1fU0Z0a5TPyUMotjW7zrvA3sTstyPi8pVt26rDIp1N3E/edit?usp=sharing
How would you compare the ultralite x against hardy hbx rods that was there top of line rod in was voted best rod in test in trout and salmon magazine in the uk few years in best 10ft 7wt great review as always by trident .
@@Tridentflyfishing all right my friend I had just bought the hardy hbx if you were me is there much point in buying hardy ultralite nsx x for what it has to offer compared to hbx thanks for your time .
In the uk or Britain hardy are the top and most exclusive fishing name the quality will b spot on but ur paying for rayan warrants and history of what Hardy stands for to us brits hardy would be rolls Royce orvis don’t come close but ovs over there it would b orvis
Sorry, but nobody in the USA considers the likes of Orvis or even Redding comparable to a Rolls. For the most part Orvis and Redding are regarded for their entry level and intermediate offerings. Yeah they have some expensive models, but not many folks prefer them over the likes of Sage. Orvis and Redding try (and fail) to make their product lines here in the USA, but its mostly just hit or miss. Sage is 100% American made as Hardy is 100% British.
I've only found the exact opposite to be fair. I've always had fantastic service from them. What I don't like, and they are all the same. Sage, Hardy, Scott, Winston etc... The 'Lifetime' warranty, is not your lifetime. Only the lifetime of the range. As soon as its out the catalogue, after a few months it's obsolete, so if you break it, tough.
Honest and useful opinions on gear in this space are hard to come by. Thanks again.

Which floating line do you recommend for my Hardy Ultralite 8' #4? THANKS

The MPX is a great line pairing, for sure. Thanks for watching!
Where and when was it done
Model Hardy zenith sentrix 12'6#7 , do you know anything about this?
I ordered 7wt 9’6” for my streamer fishing few days ago.
Let us know what you think!
I ordered few hours ago the same one 😊.
after few months use, this one is my favorite streamer rod better than my old NRX+, also I used this one caught my PB Brown Trout .
I know you were not a fan of the method but I love it for long distance casting from the boat. How does this X stack up to the method or igniter?
A little bit better feel and fishability in-close
Interesting. Thanks for the reply.

Stillwater only... I'd go for more distance and get the X
@@Tridentflyfishing Cheers thank you.
Hi. Great review of this Ultralite X 🙂 I have a Hardy HBX 905. (Do you have a review of the HBX rod?)
Looking at an HBX 8'6" how is the 9?
Can we look up all the rods you reviewed and their scores in a table?

Don’t buy a Hardy rod their customer service is atrocious.
