Great to see this from you Vet. Nice to see the Wii getting mentioned after all these years after not much personally hearing ever since the Switch replaced it as a better selling product. Well done s always bro. 8^) Anthony..
Hi mate hope your well 👍 the Wii needs some love but it’s great to dip your toe in again to see how far the community has taken it since I last looked cheers
Just like you I have the PAL Wii with RGB out of the box. I was thinking about doing the mod but eventually I decided against doing the mod. Not only do I not have a compatible Wii model but comparisons show that there are only little differences between RGB and HDMI on the Wii. I have a TV with RGB component and SCART output and I have an upscaler for my retro consoles, so I will be good. 🙂
@@forestmanzpedia with your setup it would not be worth it, I just though it would future proof mine and easy to setup if I need to swop to a more modern TV Cheers 👍
@@TheVetUk Good day buddy, I was previously mistaken and missed the fact you have the AVE HDMI mod, not the DualHDMI mod. The Dual HDMI mod requires you to have the later revisions of the Wii, if it isn't the Wii Mini. I have the -01 version with Gamecube hardware. According to the website (either the wiki or web page where you can buy the AVE HDMI mod) the AVE HDMI mod is compatible to most Wii versions, except the Wii mini model. Meaning, this mod should be compatible with my model if I am not mistaken. I have upgraded my component cables for the Wii. I am now using the HD Retrovision component cables. They are much better than the previous cables made by Hama. Again, the cables are hooked up to my Retrotink 5X which is connected time to my gaming monitor. The graphics I get almost look like from the Dolphin emulator. Those visuals are seriously good. A big step from the previous cables. Now, I should say footages about comparisons between RGB out of the box and HDMI modded Wii consoles are hard to find. So in future it would be nice to see more comparisons. Honestly, I still see very little difference and no reason to upgrade to HDMI. Mind you, I am also using USB Loader GX which gives you the option to force 4:3 and disable the deflicker filter, which will deblur the visual and make them more sharp. I don't understand why Nintendo configured the Wii to always enable the Deflicker filter which is only intended for CRTs if I am not mistaken.
@@forestmanzpedia bet that looks amazing on you monitor that’s an expensive setup the retrorink is a lot of money isn’t it but sounds a real good bit of kit Do you run all you stuff though that Cheers
Replaying the Wii reminds me why it did so well it’s a blast 🎉
Really amazing video to see, these type of installations are awesome
Thank you 👍

You should switch to a progressive resolution. 576p or 480p. Twice the resolution pretty much.
It’s a great device I still can not believe how good the image is 👍
I would love my wii to have the hdmi installation, how much would you charge and a new housing shell if i sent my wii to you?
Sorry I don’t do mods you could try retrosix if your in the uk 👍
