Helped me a great deal. Thanks man... I wasted so much hours in the past, doing it via tutorials that had me manually duplicating layers and manually moving the animation on layers, etc. Which was a nightmare - many thanks for this fast method.
For everyone wanting to know about CS6 animation timeline it is Windows>Timeline>Create Video Timeline. Then at the top right of the timeline there is a drop down menu, click it then hit Convert Frames>Convert to Frame Animation. Your welcome.
thank u! this ws really helpful! i've made d animation clip.. but when i render d vid it saves it as .jpg ,,,, n i cant click on quick time export... pls help me out!! i kno i'm making a really stupid mistake...but i cant find it!
ok sure fine this works if u are moving an image across the screen but what if you are using an effect like sphereize and you want to display the image changing as it sphereizes?
The steps for creating a GIF animation are the same, but at the end instead of rendering a video, you choose "Save for Web". Once you open the Save for Web dialog box, you click underneath Preset on the file type and select GIF. Make sure to select your looping options at the bottom before saving. When opening up the document in a picture viewer you will not see the animation, you must open it in a browser by either dragging it on top of the browser window or choosing Open With. Hope this helps.
Go into the preferences and set the resources up to about 75%. I had the same problem and by default it was set to 60%. Jack that up a bit and it'll run quicker.
@LolloOwns 1yes when you click "save for web and devices" go up to where it says "Preset:" then right under that should be a drop down menu and then you just click "GIF"
Instead of moving the basketball out of the frame when you make the next one, you should be going to the right and unchecking that layer out from your frame.. It gets done a lot faster.
Hey, when I export, I cannot choose the quicktime option. It is greyed out. All I can do is export as a jpg with a bunch of pictures. What am I doing wrong?
hello everyone, i just started messing with the animation feature of Photoshop and i was wondering how many frames should i have to make an intro for my videos on RUclips?
My frames are all duplicates of eachother. I can't edit one without all of them changing...I turned off propagate frame 1 and all the unify functions are off...What am I missing??
do you have a 32-bit version or a 64-bit version? because my animation panels are wayyy different from yours...and I want to know how to change it to what yours is. Thanks and nice tut :)
Great video thanks! I see you have allot of stuff running down on the bottom on right. To speed up comp goto start up type "msconfig" goto start up tab deselect all ok then restart.
@IRecordIn3D sry i didn't get u!! even if i save it as .gif , all the frames are being saved separately, so i get a set of 80-90 frames saved separately as png images! :/ i'm not able to get the option for QuickTime Movie as its in your video!
Ayo, I liked this tutorial the only thing is at the end. When you said that you will save it as a quick time movie. I'm not able to change that option. Do I have to save it after it's done rendering? Also,when I go to it where it's saved it's all in separate photos. Will I be able to watch it on my laptop? Please help. You don't know how to make animated cursors for Cursor fx? Or where I can find some good tutorials. The ones here are all in f*****g Spanish. I have Axialis CursorWorkshop also.
Is there any way to make the gif go faster? I assume that the little "0 sec" mark indicates how long the frame is going to play, but as shown in the video it is still pretty slow, and I guess the more frames the slower. I want my gif to be very smooth, so I need lots of frames, but that would make it very slow if the frames play as long as this video shows at the "0 sec" option. If anyone sees this comment and know the answer, I'd really appreciate your advice!
@Incross71 yes you can, i have a tutorial on how to make pictures flash on another video, feel free to check it out. let me know if you want additional assistance
i opened image and unlocked background...but i dont see 'timeline' option under window..there shows all other options but not timeline...why is it so??
i'm planning on re-doing this one because of the lag and stuff on my new computer. and i wasnt hiding porn. i dont remember what was there lol but i will be sure to go over the export fully :)
Sorry about that Andrew. this is one of the few videos i used that on. and if you would like to view the same tutorial without that annoying intro you can check out my channel or click the annotation at the beginning of the video

wow somebody sounds like he is rly happy to be making this tutorial video, such enthusiasm
the more frames you add, the longer the duration between point a and point b, it makes for a smother transion, another way is through tweens.
@Baconblatz i'm glad to hear that :D
its nice to know my videos are helping people

the more frames the smoother it looks, like if i put one frame it would look jumpy.
It should, if you downloaded a torrent it might be missing some files.

Click Window->Animation
