It can't manipulate algebraic expressions/equations like the "solve for x" problem shown in the video. It doesn't have any contrast setting that I know of, and I bought it from a reputable store, not some random ebay listing. (Australian school exams are strict about what kinds of calculator are allowed: no symbolic algebra, calculus, graphing, etc)

I doubt it solves in correctly it probably has to do with which answer it chooses to give you, if you do shift solve -1000000 then = or shift solve 100000 equal it will give you different solutions depending on what you're solving
