- Billie Eilish in her Happier Than Ever song was awesome. I don't know what it is that we old guys love so much about Billie, but I think it has to do with her sound being so unique. Especially her voice. It is one thing to sing like an American Idle "great singer", but then another thing to have this unique voice and incredible sounding music whereby no one can duplicate it.
I put her in the same category as the singer for AC/DC. He is not a choir boy sound, but we all love his voice. Same with Billie Eilish. I know she can sing very well and has sung in her church choir growing up, but she uses her unique sound for her music that we love.

I'm 68 years old. I started digging Billie Eilish because I've been dressing like her for years. Then, she went on a crusade against fat shaming. Again, I admired and had huge respect for her. I began to study her closer and realized that she's amazing. She's a PHENOM! A child prodigy. Unique, charismatic, beautiful -- I'm only old enough to be Billie's grandmother, but I'm just another old fangirl. I've got tickets for the Happier Than Ever tour in April. I'll be wearing my slime green Michael Jordan Nike vegan hightop shoes that Billie rocks, some of the jewelry Billie has from one of her silversmiths from down, under and a custom-made plaid shirt with a huge Billie patch sewn on.
Heck, I am 80 years old, a big lifetime music fan, all types, and I don’t think anyone has ever moved me emotionally as much as Her singing has.
I’m with you all. I wonder if Billie knows how many fans she’s got in our age group, male and female. I actually became a fan of Billie the person before I became a fan of Billie the artist and then boom. I’ve seen Finneas twice and am hoping for better luck getting tickets to her next tour.

I'm glad at least one of the guys understood the lyrics of the song. He was not only selfish, but by the way she describes them, he also might have been reactive and possibly aggressive too. It's not a breakup song, at the end she says "I was just a kid". It could very much relate to someone's father. And I know this because every time I hear this song, it totally reflects my feelings towards my father and describes him perfectly even.
YES. It sounds like a torch song with a twist of Patsy Cline. And you will notice that the surroundings have an old Hollywood feel, with soft lighting and it’s bright outside. But Billie is wearing a black t-shirt that says “ I don’t have to sell my soul”. And then reality begins seeping in. And she opens the door and it’s a watershed moment. And as she breaks the surface she realizes “ I don’t relate to you anymore.”. And now everything is in sync, the music and the lyrics and the rain as a baptismal metaphor for a new beginning.
What a great song. Powerful and an excellent breakup song to help heal.

I don't think you've reacted to her yet but, if you're unfamiliar with her work, you should check Amy Winehouse out. Just like how the start of this song transported you to a smoke filled speak easy, I think Amy's style and music would have a similar effect.
I'd have to agree. I never got into Amy; my niece did. But I just can't get over Billie. I just can't get over her.
