I had a Honda CBR250R 1987 Hurricane, revved it to 18,000 rpm everyday for 3 years, no oil change, no filter change. Got it over 180kph a few time (over 112mph) laying flat to the tank. Bought it in Auckland New Zealand for $1300 had to barter hard down from $1500 because I was a broke teenager and the dude selling it was leaving the country luck me! My friend had a 1989 CBR250R Hurricane and another mate had a GSXR-400RR Slingshot, his brother had a VFR400R NC24 all 4 cylinders. Was like a F-1 race on the way to high school in the mornings that was my normal, we all thought this was life forever young and invincible, and they were awesome days! When I met my girlfriend 20 years ago I use to take her for rides on it and I can just imagine her parents shock hearing the screaming 18,000rpm approaching their house. Luckily these bikes still are available here!!!
As a teen going to college soon, I envy you so much, where I live we have nothing but single cylinder bikes with no character, and the 4 cylinder don't start from $3500 even for used bikes, all I wish is I could experience the F1 race while going to college with my friends too
The purple and yellow custom painted Yamaha 2KR had a DENSO ECU issue . Due to age . My mechanic has had to upgrade a few of these , they are DAC , not full digital . The capacitors provide some , but not great rev limit control unlike later models . I have a mid- blue and gold 3LN1 from 1989 . It has a programmable 813 ECU costing $2000 Australian . Soft marine style limiter and smoother engine sound compared to stock . A must - see . No power valve any more with revised mapping .
Only thing Yamaha hasn't changed is their indicators, still the same old indicator used in most of their present bikes...orange tinted with halogen bulbs.
They sound so good! Why haven't they been putting such engines in the beautiful 250cc/300cc Kawasakis and Hondas? Oh wait.. cost cutting. Anyway came looking for 250cc 4 cylinder engines after rumors that Kawasaki wants to bring them back. I hope they do

Actually they are, yesterday the first official images came from Japan, this like a mashup of the old ZXR and the ZX-10R
Yes they do
Mostly Euro standards as well.
It's so funny how 250s of then sounded like 1000S
Modern 250cc just don't do it for me. These old bikes have more character
I'm here just to listen to the 250 4 cylinder sound... How ninja 250 4-cyl would sound.. Reborn ninja rocks

Yamaha best
Why have they stopped making these?
Because its expensive and you dont get much power out of it...
Yo la conozco como moto de GTA San andreas
THe speed not as "loud" as the sound. :)
do you realize that it is only a 250cc bike?
@@siapitapit3605 thats why, this kind of bike need very high rev to get enough power. Not a balance engine compare with 2 cyl even with 1 cyl.
i dont care , the sound keeps coming into my dream .
yamaha best sound
Black parrot suzuki
all are Japanese but kwasaki is best in sound no all are best'
250cc old engine sound👍250cc now engine sound same💩
Suzuki bandit 400 is better
Good sound. Bad speed
They are pretty fast for 250cc . When you have something so lightweight with 45-50 hp trust me it is a small rocket
So 190 to 200kmh is a full i love it bro
What is a bad speed
what do you expect from a 250cc 4 stroke ? a 1000cc power?
