Yeah, I’m going to be the lone voice of realism here and say that I do pity this man. I feel like rabid feminism has created some serious bias against men, and I say that as a woman and one who has been painfully hurt by a cheater. Marriage takes effort. I get she has a tough job, but she didn’t seem to have put much effort to be present in the marriage even when she wasn’t at work. She recognized that herself, hence her own apology to him at the end. I don’t condone his cheating, and I support this character’s ultimate decision to part ways, but had she decided to work things out, I would have understood. As with many of these situations, I always say to swap the roles. The man, always busy, never making time for his family and taking without giving. You all would be on her side in a heartbeat. There were genuine issues in their marriage that one never prioritized enough to even recognize and the other chose to create resentment and stew internally, but there was genuine love there too. With a lot of these dramas, I loathe the MLs for their actions, but this one…this one was less Disney villain and more a true reflection of how a marriage, even one filled with love, can fall apart without effort and communication.
