    It has a DEADLY safetly flaw in the stem, which snaps in half over time at the hinge due to a flaw in the design that even a basic engineering student or anyone with any common sense could see. The hinge clamp is far too short which puts an incredible amount of force on the hinge and surrounding areas due to extreme leverage from being too close to the folding point which results in accelerated metal fatigue, so it catastrophically fails/breaks while you're riding, just like it did with mine recently. Luckily I didn't die since I was only going about 10mph but if I was going +50mph I'd probably be dead. I told them the wobble was getting worse and worse since the first month I bought it but they did nothing to fix it and said it was normal! When I informed them it finally snapped in half while I was riding they again did nothing, and even said I'd have to pay to get it fixed even though this has been a well documented safety flaw for years with most Dualtron scooters!

      Luckily most Dualtron have relatively zero drag when the brake regeneration is off and makes rolling easy. Unlike my Segway one couldn't roll down hills regardless of what setting you put it on. I often take my dog for a run and noticed this little benefit when walking both.

    I have never owned an electric scooter or even been on one. Yet this is the scooter I bought 2 months ago. I weigh 245 lbs and it moves me like I weigh nothing. I am getting insane range for my weight. I only have 1 issue with it. The square controller it comes with. To say I hate that type of controller on a high power scooter is an understatement. It is beyond annoying. I even almost wished I never bought it. Yes, to me that annoying. The jerky all or nothing power because of that silly controller is to much. Settings do not help it much. I will never buy any electric vehicle again without a sine wave controller. On the flip side, literally everything else about the scooter is just plain awesome. For specs of what this scooter offers the price cannot be beat! So if you are pedal to medal sort of rider this is straight up the scooter to buy. I bought the seat kit that goes with it and it arrives today. Think I will enjoy the whole experience quite a bit better with the seat.

    The tires on this scooter are insane. 11" tubeless are perfect. Some high end scooters are now coming with 12 or even 13" tires...which I think are too big. There's other scooters that come with 10", which I think os slightly undersized for a high end scooter. 11" is perfect. "Threads the needle" as I like to say. This scoot is a beast. 72v 40ah....that's borderline criminal. It's also not too heavy. I think the nanbot ls7+ is like 110 pounds...that's too heavy. Makes it impossible to carry...and eventually you're gonna have to carry your scooter somewhere. Even if you don't carry it all the time....There's gonna come a point or situation where it needs to be picked up. This is my favorite scooter on the market.

    • @Andrew-vt4jt
      @Andrew-vt4jt 2 года назад +1

      The storm gets speed wobbles greater than 35mph unless you have a steering damper on it but has the fastest acceleration of those three. I would definitely take the Thunder 2 over those three choices for street use, due to the nicer buttons, silicone buttons and stability at high speeds. The Ultra 2 is the only one that has offroad tires and it's a fun ride. The Ultra 2 is not as aggressive as the Thunder 2 or Storm, but it's a range beast. The Ultra 2 also has older buttons and the kickplate is at a much more steep angle.
      I do like the Nami best for offroading but I prefer the Thunder 2 for street riding. If the Nami had upgraded stiffer suspension, it may change my mind. The Dualtron Thunder 2 feels more stable at 55mph than the Nami because it's lower to the ground and can be adjusted even lower.

    Don’t get me wrong I like watching this kind of stuff but in truth my honest search isn’t for adventure rides but real day to day living where in the end I think just might be the biggest potential market for eDivices. Running errands, Some small grocery shopping. Things like that and in that mode weight and storage becomes key. If you can keep your edevice with you when it’s not being used or parked in your apartment then a host of potential problems are eliminated like theft and the related security measures to counter theft. It’s a pain and if a thief is determined enough it’s almost a guarantee they’ll find a way around any precaution you might take. So my personal list is weight primary. Along with that is size. Then there’s range and ability to climb hills. Note: Not zip up a hill but climb it above walking speed would be cool. Then distance. Last would be speed. As long as I’m going faster than walking I’m good:)

    Dualtron really is starting to fall behind, sure this scooter has speed and a nice size battery. It has a squeaky weak stem, a very low grade suspension. The controller and screen are generations behind.

    • @slick1908
      @slick1908 2 года назад +2

      -A little grease solves permanently the stem squeak.
      -Best suspension in the scooter world, it does come stiff from factory because suspension nuts are over tightened
      - the screen has more settings tha most scooters and the squarewave are not inferior to sinewave. Sinewave comes with a lot of disadvantages, a broken hall sensor in the front motor in a sinewave and you'll be picking up teeth from Asphalt, less efficient at high speeds. I would personally only replace squarewave with FOC, never sinewave.

      @@slick1908 You dont wanna hear about the Faulty, lemon of a scooter the dualtron limited is, or have you looked that one up. I bought on in January and they still havent out parts to fix it. Even after my first mile on the thing I knew it was defective. They tried to deny it. But after every single person who bought one started to complain, they had no choice but to acknowledge it. But as i said months later still no fix. They stated speeds of 70, wouldnt go over 43, range of 136 miles, youd be lucky to get 40 in eco mode crawling at 12mph. They controller which was in the kick plate would vibrate like crazy. You couldnt even charge the thing to 100%, it would reach 98 and then start going back down.
      So yes I stand by the fact, they are behind the game, they should be much farther ahead not only in quality control at this point, but just about every single aspect of the scooter world. I went bought a Nami, and its not even close how much better of a scooter it, and its only their first try at making a scooter.
