I have scopophobia. It developed in 2nd grade while doing a skit. I forgot my lines, and I was just standing in front of class, with so much to say but not knowing what to say. They stared at me, expecting something I didn't have. Now, whenever someone I don't know looks at me for more than 5 seconds, I'm in that class again. My knees become weak and my voice cracks.

The fear of being watched is more less of just not wanting to be stared at, but more the vagueness of the situation. The fact that someone COULD be staring at you, but you don't know for sure. You don't have any clear idea of the intentions of the entity that you suspect is watching you. It causes you to stay in place, or go back. You don't know what's waiting for you, if there is at all, you want to be some place familiar, because knowing safe places to go back to.... keeps you alive. The pictures in question encite so much more fear, because it seems as though there IS not much place to escape to. There is also no clear place you should keep your eyes on, so you are constantly panicking, trying to find a place where you can watch all directions at once without having to sacrifice...... that one dark hall towards the back left
This reminds me of a few years ago, I decided to walk to a gas station at 4 am, alone, and it was about a 30 minute walk (Yeah, I know, not the smartest idea) It was fine, I just popped in music, no cars, no people, just street lights.. Until I get about 5 minutes away, the street that has the gas station has a house that has an OPEN door, it's just wide open, pitch black inside, windows weren't blinded either. I swear I felt like I was being watched, I was beyond terrified. I didn't even attempt to go back on the same street on the way back though.

The fear I get from these images and music somehow is less “I’m being watched” and more often “I’m being actively pursued by something I can’t see” or “I’m trapped in a place with something else nearby but I don’t know where”
The reason the third picture’s music is scary is because it gives the impression that someone or something you likely can’t see is hunting you down. The music may sound like a bop, but imagine being alone and out of nowhere that music starts playing and gets louder.
I think these would be even scarier if there weren’t any transitions between the pictures and sound. Like it would just suddenly cut to something without warning, similar to Everywhere At The End Of Time
I don't know why, but the 3rd one got me. I guess it was just something about the upbeat music while you are "alone" and someone might be watching you. I'm not saying happy music scares me, i'm just saying that type of music gave me chills. Especially with that figure standing on the right...
This remembered me Once I was sick, and had to get out of my job to the hospital. I waited a long time for the appointment, and it was almost midnight when I finally was able to go home. The bus service already stopped a long time ago. I didn't have money for a taxi. My brother-in-law owns a motorcycle, but it was too late for me to call him, and my phone died anyway. And the hospital where I was is very far from my house. So I had to walk back to my house in the dark, silent night, with absolutely nothing but myself to trust. I managed to make my way home safely, but it was an eerie experience. Everytime I looked back, I felt like someone was watching me.
I have scopophobia and usually the staring videos don't really do it for me because the computer screen acts as a filter and removes some of the fear. But this video really disturbed me because I often feel like someone is watching me from afar and I've had anxiety attacks while walking alone at night. You're at the abandoned hospital then suddenly, you feel a sudden headache and you couldn't think straight. You tried to stop the car but you ended up crashing your car to the nearby tree. After you woke up. You realized that you're in a hospital. You looked up and saw a sign. "Sallin Hospital" That's the name of the abandoned hospital. The rest is up to your imagination.
hospitals have a natural eerieness to them at night, all the beds and other equipment are just stuffed to side of hallways. now imagine if they got "posessed" or something

I have the constant urge to look behind me in certain wooded places and treat house facades as faces, as if people are watching me through the Windows. Imagine spawning in a mall filled with crowds of people. They all walk around, buy stuff, chat, laugh, the music plays in background. You take a walk trying to find a way out, pleased by a thought that noone seems to notice you. Then suddenly the lights go out, the music stops... The people.. They just stand. Completely immobile. Observing you. All of them look at you with dead stare, following you everywhere with their huge and bright eyes. Their faces are long and pale as if they were starving for a month. And the buzzing. The constant buzzing of mechanical origine is giving you a headache. You need to get out from here...
I have found this in my recomended and I don't know why. I never even knew that there's a fear of being watched. None of these clips gave me chills, some clips where even relaxing, like the 0:50 clip. I absolutely love windy and rainy nights. I find the strong sound of wind and rain to be very calming.
the last 3 were the scariest for me... empty hospitals in general are just terrifying no matter what.. backrooms obviously.. and then i just imagine myself sliding down that slide with no way to stop, something standing at the bottom looking at me as i zoom towards it.

I don't have the fear of being watched, but I sense it all the time. I'm not sure what the presence is, but it worries me. I can also pick up vibes quite easily. Quick story (sort of unrelated) Me and my sister were home alone. My mom had left for work about an hour ago at the time, and we were chilling as per usual. I suddenly get this feeling - a gut feeling that I wasn't safe for whatever reason, and that I had to fix something. I remembered the front door, and immediately got a tingling feeling. I ran downstairs and sure enough, the front door was unlocked. I immediately locked and it bolted back upstairs. Its unrelated but I just thought I'd share it. Also, I do feel watched now, lol, and it being midnight doesn't help either.
Under the streetlight there looks to ba a silhouette that isn't illuminated by the light. This gives off the appearence of a potentially dangerous person, intentionally dressed to be unnoticeable. The thought that you are not alone and the person you're stuck with is intentionally dressed to be hidden, is chilling.

Once I was sick, and had to get out of my job to the hospital. I waited a long time for the appointment, and it was almost midnight when I finally was able to go home. The bus service already stopped a long time ago. I didn't have money for a taxi. My brother-in-law owns a motorcycle, but it was too late for me to call him, and my phone died anyway. And the hospital where I was is very far from my house. So I had to walk back to my house in the dark, silent night, with absolutely nothing but myself to trust. I managed to make my way home safely, but it was an eerie experience. Everytime I looked back, I felt like someone was watching me.

I have scopophobia and usually the staring videos don't really do it for me because the computer screen acts as a filter and removes some of the fear. But this video really disturbed me because I often feel like someone is watching me from afar and I've had anxiety attacks while walking alone at night. The picture at 1:18 especially freaked me out because I work as a security guard and I've had to patrol areas like that when no one else is around. when i had gallstones there were a few instances where i had to stay in hospital overnight. one time, i woke up in the middle of the night and left my bed to go to the loo and for about 30 seconds, there was absolutely no one in my hall. no nurses or doctors passing through, no other patients. it was pitch black through the windows and literally the only sound was the buzzing lights. it was like something out of a horror film lmfao i had to walk all the way down to the other end of the hall to use the loo too

I have found this in my recomended and I don't know why. I never even knew that there's a fear of being watched. I suddenly get this feeling - a gut feeling that I wasn't safe for whatever reason, and that I had to fix something. I remembered the front door, and immediately got a tingling feeling. I ran downstairs and sure enough, the front door was unlocked. I immediately locked and it bolted back upstairs. Its unrelated but I just thought I'd share it.
