Thank you Christine! The Trop was special to me to. I lived in Vegas while stationed at Nellis 88-92, was there when the Mirage opened in 89. RIP Mirage too... Over the years when I would go back to visit my favorite town, I would always stay at the Trop, just always loved the old school vibe and the people that worked there were Awesome. So sad to see these iconic places go. Great memories! Thank you again. Wow update, just finished watching the whole video... you had an amazing vantage point for the implosion! Cant lie I shed a few tears. Well done. Thank you!

@@kenlanier2131 It was a special place for many people. When the media interviewed the long-time employees, many of them who had worked there for more than 40 years, it was like witnessing a death in the family. It was definitely a testament to the community that made that place a second home for so many.
I went back to Vegas at the beginning of November, and it was surreal to see a skyline without those two towers, even though they had been dwarfed in size by the newer resorts over the years.

@@ChristineMalazarte That is so true Christine. After leaving Vegas in 92, on my many return trips over the years I would run into the same people at the Trop, wether it was the Valet or the front bar there were people that had been there forever. The amazing thing they would remeber you, out of all the people that would go to the property they would geuinely remeber you. Not that is Classy! Salute to all that work there. I will always remeber my time at the Tiffany of Strip. I also would go to a special spot near Nellis on Lake Mead Blvd. to look down on the strip. Wow how it has changed over the years. Thanks again for sharing!

Wow... Thanks Christine for this detailed video. We stayed at the Trop only twice. The last time three years ago. I remember we had a good time each time. Hate to see the changes in Vegas but everything changes... some for the better... some for the worse. Wish the stadium could've been on the other side of the interstate but it's not my call or my $78.00 that makes those decisions. Anyway, that's a really good video.

@@JL-lg8tk Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I, too, disagree with the placement of the stadium, but those with the money make the decisions.
I lost count how many times I stayed at the Trop, but my heyday was between 1994-2004 before it was sterilized by the 2010 renovation. That was a wonderful time when things were very tropical and it was an experience to stay there.

Hey Christine, Hope you are well! I was watching your amazing video again. Thank you again for taking the time and effort to capture the end of one of Vegas's true gems. Going to so miss that place. I was last in Vegas briefly in 2019 dont know when I will go back next, but it will not be the same without the Trop and the Mirage. :( Was just listening to Madonnas "This use to be my Playground"

Thank you! I still think about this place from time to time. In fact, this year's holiday postcard was dedicated to the work around this mini-doc.
It is weird to think of a Las Vegas without Trop and Mirage, but then again, there was once a time when we had Boardwalk Holiday Inn and that's now a giant series of buildings and a theater.
That song would've totally worked here. I had contemplated using that song for this video, but didn't want to get flagged for copyright.

Well, considering why I made this documentary, going inside the Tropicana is no longer an option for everyone. :)
