Just received my Bordon Tukano's with the same color and outsole as yours. I think they look really cool. They're a bit large for me but a thicker sock does the trick. Maybe I'll try a Dr. Scholl's like you did. The Whickett and Craig latigo leather is stunning. They are a stiff boot to start with!
Those look great! I'm eagerly awaiting my pair from the October order (latest update: they're in the "sewing stage"). I got excited when I saw the title because I hoped for a second you had a new pair from that batch that you got slightly early because you're a famous boot influencer, which would mean my boots were just behind. Oh well. 😅
I ordered my pair from the May batch and the boots went into the lasting process in November. "Heeling stage" which is 30 steps was complete 12/31. My boots should be in the "Finishing stage" which is 50 steps. I can't complain the delays were caused by a 3rd party and now the boots are sewn in house with a lot of improvements: - Adjust the heel counter silhouette - Heel Inseam removed - Improve the quality of the upper threads - 11spi on the upper stitching - Keep tannery leather thickness on the edges In the interim I bought a pair of truman boots in java waxed flesh and the instep was really tight and a little short compared to red wing iron rangers and timberlands. I talked to Andres about it and I was able to size up 1/2 size. So the delay worked in my favor.
@@Menocchio1 My boots went into the "Stage of Lasting" on Nov 6th and Andres sent me some pix. I asked him to give me all eyelets NO speed hooks. Dec 31st I received email my boots are currently through the longest process, heeling stage and 1/22/2024 my boots are in the finishing stage. At the end of this week, you will receive the tracking number. I'd say your boots should be complete in 12 weeks. So Andres is getting caught up and making the boots in 4-5 months for the new orders.
@@Menocchio1 I just bought Smiths to condition the boots. Luke Larson from Nicks mentioned using Smiths on Wicket & Craig veg tan leather. I'm also going to wax the midsoles and leather heel with otter wax so the the leather doesn't get wet and shrink. I heard that you should break in Veg Tan leather boots for a month without getting wet. Use the smiths as needed depending on how much you wear the boots and they're getting wet.
Hello from Canada Teik! Really enjoy your videos. So much so that you have cost me a pretty penny lately. Bought the Nicks/Parkhurst v2 in W&C natural double stuffed, and a pair of Viberg service boots in Horween wheat predator. Keep up the good work!
I have the same feeling, I have both soles and the commando feels more comfortable, I talked to Andres about it and he said that the studded sole compounds are harder than the commando and that's why the studded version feels harder than the commando, actually you can evidence that on the rubber heels of each one, the commando wears a bit faster than the studded. By the way the ones you get were made by their third party because of the date you mentioned, now they are delivering the inhouse version of it. Keep doing great work Teik!🎉
Oh these are very handsome boots! I like that they're a bit chunkier than the prevalent service boot style. Something a little different. Leather looks beautiful too. Cheers!
I am honestly impressed that you pronounced Colombia correctly! Most Australians simply say Columbia. Thank you for being awesome. By the way, most of your videos leave me with the feeling that I need to buy more boots.... and make more money to pay for said boots...
Thank you for your detailed reviews with good footage! I placed an order for their march 24 batch and am currently expecting a pair of isidros in chestnut latigo. :) This year they expect 8-9months lead time due to production changes.
Looks fantastic. I love the wickett and craig double stuffed leather uppers and the overall look of these boots. To top that off, they seem like incredible value. Too bad I missed out on the last drop though,my loss I guess.
As far as 100% veg tan tanneries in the US, there's also Hermann Oak. No idea why bootmakers don't use them. According to a lot of professional leatherworkers, they make a higher quality, more consistent product.
These are great looking boots. Service boot would be my vote. You mentioned these have a "wide forefoot". What brand/boot would you suggest for the wider forefoot boots? I found many of the service boots are quite pointy and cramp the toes.
Got a pair of brown horsehide White's Bounty Hunters and now I'm hooked on trying out all the PNW makers lol. I only have Drew's and the usuals (Many Grant Stone, Parkhurst, Truman) and several of the Indonesian makers but there really is something amazing about these White's! Bordon is definitely on my short list after getting that gorgeous pair from Christian Daniel in Russet W&C (I think you got too). I remember talking to Bordon a while back about double row stitchdown and begging for a one piece heel. Now he's done it all so I'm 100% onboard!
Also waiting for my pair. In the interim I would prefer to receive ve updates as opposed to radio silence. I am also experiencing poor communication from Adelante. A worrisome sign.
Greetings from the States. Your videos are great Teik! Other then the obvious, i.e. price difference and country of origin, Thoughts on Nicks vs Bordon? Keep up the great content!
How would you compare the fit to trumans 79 last? I wear the trumans in EE, but not sure if E would be enough for bordon. Would you get the same size (length) as truman?
Looks like the May batch are very close to shipping. From Bordon's e-mail this morning: "We are glad to inform you that your boots are in the finishing stage. At the end of this week, you will receive the tracking number." YES!!!
If you're using your boots equally and have (seventy+ ?) boots in your rotation, if you've done 200_km in these boots you must be a perpetual motion machine and you have my respect for the marathon you are completing in your boots every day 🙂. You must have a treadmill under that desk
@@Bootlosophy I guessed that was the case. I keep track of my usage outside (actually walking ) and it works out around 4 to 5 km per day averaged over a year (also allowing for the number of wash out days I get in Scotland). I also try and have a trainer/sneaker season in summer where I wear trainers more frequently than boots. That means my boots are getting more like 20 km per year each though I have my favourites so it is not spread as evenly as that. This of course means that if I live to be around three hundred I'll have a reasonable chance of actually re-soling all of them. I blame the boot manufacturers for coming up with new things to tempt us (not my lack of self control).
@@Bootlosophy I doubt very much it is because you are lazy giving the activities you mentioned in your video. As opposed to people like me who phones somebody to fix things. It's really just a matter of thinking at the end of the day "What have I done today". If you've ever kept a diary you'll be doing the same anyway. I retired (early) a few years ago anyway when I decided time was more precious than money, so I have plenty of time and I'm mostly walking in local areas and know how far I'm going. If necessary I can always refer to Google maps or my OS 1:25,000 maps of my area for guidance but I suppose the easiest way is to have a tracker on your phone or watch and take a note if you change your boots during the day.
Andres just keeps upping his game ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
Patiently waiting for my pair.
Your initial review of the V1 Tukano put Bordon on my radar and compelled me to pick up a pair of these in this leather. They are brilliant!!

I really like how these have turned out! I need to get some Bordon's eventually! Thanks, Teik! Hope all is well in your world.
Man, those look beautiful. That leather is absolutely gorgeous.
I only wish my pair had the matching tongue and collar lining over the suede one they’ve started using. But it’s not a big deal tbh

You should make a video about some good heritage boots that could be used in hot weather
Wear thin socks and use cedar shoe trees
Lots on my channel - suedes, R M Williams made in a hot country, Chukkas
Teik, that is a really nice looking boot. Like a better made, stitchdown version of the OSB trench.

I wonder how this color compares to the chestnut color . It’s hard to tell on their website
This has definite red undertones. I wonder if the chestnut is more brown?
Do you think those 5mm thick studded soles are tough enough for outdoor work, kicking shovels, climbing ladders, etc?
Yes I think so

How long it will take before they have any more orders available?
