If plastic coating on a wire reduces bacterial canker incidence the what about velcro tape wrapped around the vertical [fashion where it touc& or bangs against a wire. Some type of padding. Applied to the wood not the wire

Great video and wonderful insight. I am thinking about putting in 4 acres of cherries in Gisela. Thanks for the video.

How tall do they get on the various Gisela rootstocks?

I have a steeply sloped plot of about 2.5 acres of land in hardiness zone 6b. Do you think I could plant it with cherries in this style?

probably, which heading is it facing? type of soil? open sun or shaded? windbreaks? got to think about all of that when you plant perennial plants as they are a long-term investment

I was surprised to see in a brochure about cherry variety selection that Gisela 3 rootstock in UFO out produced Gisela 5 & 6 in the 4th year by a mile compared to the other popular training systems. I'm a hobbyist not a commercial grower . So Gisela 3 sound attractive. Using Gisela 6 in UFO didn't out preform Gisela 6 in other traing systems . Particular for me the Gisela 6 in KGB didn't preform well in tonnage of cherries compared to UFO GISELA 3
