- The last Michael Phelps world record in the books has fallen to the frenchman in beautiful fashion. Marchand takes 1.34 seconds off Phelps' 2008 world record swimming a ballistic 4:02.50! This record has been in Phelps' possession since April 2003. He was awarded his gold medal from the swimming legend himself.
