I've flown Emarites several times (BC) and put them at the top of my list, but based on what I'm seeing here QATAR looks even better.

That first class cabin is incredible - the detailing, the screen quality & the finish are amazing! No wonder Al Baker delayed the delivery for carpet problems. Looks like a very nice bar upstairs. Thanks for sharing this.

A fully comprehensive and detailed review of what I for one will never ever have the opportunity of trying....High Maintenance Caitlin has definitely ended any chances. What A380 bar do you prefer...Qatar or Emirates?

Thank you so much my friend. I have a solution for your problem: why dont you get High Maintenance Caitlin a job at Qatar? Well..Emirates is a bar - Qatar is a lounge:) Both are nice. You get the way better First Class champagne on Qatar. But that greek ex Mykonos bar tender on the Emirates bar was sooo cute:)

homer3152 Maybe I should sell High Maintenance Caitlin on ebay or Amazon and join you in first class for Alex's wedding...Problem solved ;) I think the EK bar looks better. Look out for my EK A380 video AMS to DXB on Christmas day...I also will be uploading Caitlin and my return diverted KLM flight from AMS to NCL via AMS during Christmas/New Year.

Never travelled in first class but when I do, it's definitely going to be on Qatar, that interior was beautiful and the attention to detail was second to none, even economy looked brilliant!
There are only a couple of Vloggers that really know how to capture the aura and ambience of flight travel and you're one of them

Nice trip report on youtube and airliners.net and I would say the first class lavatory which is shown from 6:28 to 7:14 seems to rival LH or UA first class lavatory and QR along with CX or MH are 5 star skytrax airlines in the Oneworld Alliance. Also the flight attendants like their CX counter parts have excellent cabin service and keep in mind that both CX and QR fly into MNL from DOH and HKG . Even the take off run from 3:26 to 5:34 seems to be less noisy than the A380s of SQ,LH & TG since the GP7000 engine doesn't have the classic RR buzzsaw on take off just like the SQ,TG & LH which have their A380s powered by RR Trent 900s
Good inspiration Homer. At the beginning you'd included a video of a 380 taking off. I think it would be a real cool touch if they had cameras along the runway and in select parts of the airport to film your particular flight as it takes off and transmit to their entertainment system. That would be super cool.

Excellent Homer! Again, you've ruled RUclips with this exclusivity, I doubt anyone else will review this in months. It's very nice that Qatar have bothered to decorate the whole plane, without just leaving economy to be, well economy. But still, the premium section being in the upper deck does have some excitement to it. The lounge looks so unique, and dwarfs the first modern (2000's) lounge brought by Virgin Atlantic. Overall, what a fantastic looking product it is, hopefully it brought some life to a dull looking Heathrow... And yes, keep spinning those plates Homer! :)

Amazing, Qatar airways a380 is amazing! I cannot believe how stylish it is, how modern the cabin both first and all the classes, they have improved a lot, I really hope they introduce this to the A330 cabin as it's run down and needs to be in the history books!, but once again homer great report I do love your reports :-)

homer3152 this is without a doubt one of the best first class I have ever see. But the in terms of the seat preset, emirates also offers the same feature in both Business and First Class through the multinational tablets. Great report!!

This is a great video again. I think you show in it a great professionalism at many details as board services and IT tools in first class BUT ALSO economic. Wich is great. That's good for those who do not always know travel business class or first class. Dear Homer continue to show us all the classes in a plane in each of your reports. ( If it's possible ).

Not any second of it that i get bored. Amazing. Flew with QR two years back Kuala Lumpur to Istanbul. Yeay i couldn't agree more, I get wonderful service in economy seat. Crew all are stunning. Would love to have good time on business class and first class just like you Homie

It's all amazing , I love these type of videos and everything relates to Sky! A380 by itself is just wonderful let alone the great operator Qatar Airways.. I actually tried a380 first with Emirates on 2009 but looking forward to try it with Qatar too :-)

Hi Homer, looks like a most luxurious experience on the ground and then onboard Qatar Airways A380! Happy to see the Qatar smiles even before take-off!!! Thank you for showing us the little but exquisite features.The bathroom looks incredible - gotta love the tap! I think the touchscreen controls is just magnificient - amazing zoom function! I find the pictures of the Oryx very striking and differentiating. Thanks for showing the lounge menu! Another superb video! It is fascinating to see the contrast between the understated elegance of the Qatar interiors and the more colorful Emirates cabins. Is Qatar first class roomier without the partitions? It looks that way on the video.

That was impressive that they poured the Chassagne-Montrachet. The crew seems very diverse, like Emirates also. How do you get the flight attendants to let you film them? Do you just ask them in advance and tell them that they will be on youtube, and if they agree, you just film them? What about passengers around you? Do they look at you? This looks like a phenomenal product, homer. What a great trip report! How would you advise someone to get on this? Is it hard to get this with miles? Or is the only way to get on this is to pay for it directly (or hopefully have a company pay for it!). Great report!
As with your question on Miles. Qatar is a member of the Oneworld Alliance and not Staralliance anymore, so I know that you can not use your points on this one.
I would say you might need AA advantage ,US Airways Dividend miles or CX Asia Miles since these are oneworld airlines and using any of those Oneworld Alliance flyer miles would probably get you a QR first class seat

Thank you very much my friend. Yes, I always ask and explain what it is about. I am not bothered by looks..but I usually dont film when the cabin is packed. Yes, you can use miles for it..though on special flights like this it is difficult. A nice thing: QPoints, which you get in addition to miles once you reach status. For gold status e.g. you get 40 QPoints a year on top of the miles..and for Doha-London you just need 35 QPoints without tuching your miles . So these Qpoints are something like an annual upgrade voucher. You may also purchase additional lounge passes etc..a very nice system.

Great video, thanks for sharing! I had my first A380 experience from DOH-CDG last month in economy, and was able to get a quick peek at the lounge, but was curious to see more of the First Class experience beyond what is shown on Qatar's website and what I could see from the 'cheap seats.' Your video gave me a great preview of what I hope to see on a subsequent flight with an upgrade to the front of the upper cabin! :-) Safe travels.

I must say, Qatar´s first class (and business) cabins are much more tastefully done than those on Emirates, EK has just way too much bling.
Nonetheless both are very good airlines (only flown Qatar so far)
I shall be onboard the QR A380 in a few days from DOH to BKK (in Eco) looking forward.

Thank you for this very elegant movie as your detailed catch up with the area of the airplane and the bathroom which must be the perfect bathroom when flying. Also the salt lake Urmia was also very interesting as I love that you gather actual pictures from this place. Yes, indeed even rectangular food plates turn also. Funny and good effect. :)

Good news, Lufthansa is heading over to Tampa for the first time. Hopefully get to take videos of the inaugural landing and planning a possible trip sometime next year during the winter.

LH Inaugural flight to Tampa will be Sept 25. Clearing some time to see it land.
Emirates is making a it's first trip to Orlando on Sept 1 which I am really excited about. I am back to traveling, but it will be in the states to visit family for short time. Hopefully, I get to travel on Emirates in the future, or take Qatar from Miami.
