There should be a ground connection going to the regulator or the generator. Open ground will cause problems.

hey I'm in nc too I just bought a m1114 as well what is the process of getting a license plate for it ?
For registration inspection make sure your lights, horns, wiper, and signals all work. install back up light and lisence plate light also.
Gonna put a hard or soft top on it?
Going to start with soft. Ultimately I want a hard top with x doors.
