Baffles me how a guy like this isn't in a studio helping produce tracks. His knowledge of music theory and production is up top level. Definitely guys in studios with half the knowhow.
This is lil Wayne inspired 100%. same delivery with the slurring and inflection. I loveeee this shit. "When I get defeated, believe I get up" sounds just like Wayne's delivery. Plus the make it rain, fema line is so Wayne. I swear this album is him just proving he can do what all the greats do

I feel that J cole and Kendrick are more influential to me. I'm not a huge Drake fan. I think he was better back in the day. But, I'm in a different generation. I think Drake rides trends more than having anything deep to say.
@@joshwilliams9922 You know what? I agree wholeheartedly with you. That's the Drake I miss. I feel like he's catering more to the charts than making complete, solid projects.
@@too2great8 yes bro that’s what make jcole lyrics so profound, and and some so simple as “still sing these songs like I’m slept on”packed with substance and impact. You remember how logic said ok the intro of under pressure, he said “ not concerned about sales in my first week, because in my mind the only way I feel o fail is my verse weak” or when he said” such a perfectionist o can’t even finish this draft.” He lost that hunger then dropped stuff like coadm but got it back with no pressure.

“No one is doing it at the level or the consistency as Cole out Cole, Drake, Kendrick”? Cole has 6 albums out with 1 classic album, Drake has 7 albums out with 2 classic albums, Kendrick has 4 albums out with 3 classic albums with one of his albums being one of the greatest rap albums of all time (TPAB). I get Kendrick hasn’t put an album out in 4 years but he is by far the most consistent out of the 3.
Kendrick has two at best tpab was great but it falls short of a classic that’s good Kidd mad city and section .80 even though the latter isn’t a album and drake has only one and that’s take care that’s it

to be clear. J Cole is significantly better than Wayne ever. Ever.

Prefrence cole better then wayne as a overall artist u can make a debate 4 projects but thats my take
Production on this joint is tip-top 🔥
COLEWORLD KILLED THIS shout-out to the homie bas wit the vocals
Bas kills the harmonies at the end 🔥
The song has so much of a resemblance with Middle Child. In terms of the prod and flow.
Pride is the Devil is next 🕺🏻 🔥
Loving the reactions Ernest! Keep em coming
Enjoying the journey with you with your incredible breakdowns thanku so much love and god bless x

"When I get de-feeted (defeated) , believe I get up" 🔥🔥
I audibly laughed out loud when you said that Scorpion was only 5 or 6 songs too long lol bro, that album was like 13 songs too long

fire
Realize that my life’s hook is from my life by Pharoahe Monch and styles P which murders Coles version. I love Cole but the original fire....
i won't say "murders" but the original is def better. Pharoahe Monch is a GOAT.
Honestly I prefer Morray's version over the original 🤷🏻♂️
That’s bas at the end there
Can’t take a joke is the best song on scorpion
Token just dropped over his beats! React to "Token - Hi J. Cole"
