Some of these solutions may be simple and may work but it’s also inconvenient. Maybe it’s just me but I feel like we’ve come too far in technological advancements for this to still be a KNOWN ASUS issue.
100%...I spend more time messing around fixing things than getting work done...just jumped away from ASUS...beautiful fast ergonomic (expensive machines) with too many stupid problems. I MUST work in my lap...USB-c is the WORST...too fragile a connection. Needs to be as solid as USB for the real world...I am not getting rid of my cat, and if he bumps into it, oh well...and JUST try sending in for repair or finding someone local...nuh uh.
WOW...I was messing around with the copressed air....but just uninstalling the Keyboard and reboor the LapTop was doing the job.....did not expect it would help, but it did. Thank you so much!
Thank you! I panicked when mine suddenly stopped working and even switching the whole laptop off the keyboard light stayed on! I had to take the laptop apart to disconnect the battery (gaming laptop) and that didn't even work! But your method fixed it straight away. Thank again!
One another way to check of the problem is realted to hardware or software, is to try launch your computer/laptop bios or boot Manger, if the boot launched and it worked it may work again when you launch windows if the keyboard wasn't workingbinside windows only, probably it's windows faulty drivers, try a spare keyboard or use the on screen keyboard to update or reinstall your faulty drivers. If the keyboard wasn't working in bios, most likely it's hardware problem, you gotta go to maintenance shop
this laptop model is light so i bought this but need a tender care for this model as I broke the hinge last year XD and now some of my keys also cannot function : ( I tested the keyboard and this one key[F9] keeps got pressed automatically that makes me hard to type normally as it bothers the other keys : ( this method won't work for this problem right? update : just got a keyboard replacement and I'm the happiest person today XD

You missed the most important fix! Installing the ATK driver. They fix keyboard illumination issues as well! In at least 50% of cases that is the issue!
The last part never says what driver you need to install. The correct answer is the driver under "Others". Install that and go through the installation process. It will reinstall the keyboard driver and you should be all set.
@@Krismareta for the laptop i did this for, there was an "Others" driver section. under it, it said "ASUS Keyboard Adjustment Tool". Try doing a ctrl+F and searching for it

@@richmondanaman3819 im personally aware of the existence of the onscreen keyboard. however its existence isnt exactly common knowledge. my implication here is that it was said without really explaining that, which you think would be a very critical part in doing so. because other than the filter keys part of this video, its literally not any different than any other tech "help" video where they dont cover any specifics and all provide the same incredibly generic and simple solutions which dont help far more than they do. its always soft/hard restart device, uninstall/reinstall drivers, and update driver from manufacturer website/(and most of the time, paid)3rd party software.
