What? No comments yet? Damn. Did a small lift on my Ranger. Removed the sway bars, and before running it ordered up some limiter straps. Only way to go. Haven't had any axle or boot issues because they work. Great explaination, even with the "artistic licensed" cutaway.... Great videos, by the way. Entertaining and informative.
you guys rebuilt the rear driver shock, but the car has been in the shop since the rebuild. Will let you know how it performs. The last valving worked great but havent been able to test the shock that the upper seal blew. We have another go at DP4 in Ridgecrest on 8/27. Thanks, guys, appreciate the help.
Racing breaks everything. Last race: radiator and rear driver shock. Clutch full rebuild. Limit straps save shocks. 1st year racer and shit just breaks,. Straps help a lot.
Nope. You don’t need them. But consider this. Most rock crawling hangs a tire between rock shelves or bigger rocks. That’s an instance where you need them just like any King of the Hammers racer. But if you don’t rock crawl then dons get them. 👍🏼
Yes it is. But a true hydraulic stop would be as violent as metal to metal. A Strap is a very soft stop. To make a hydraulic stop smooth it needs to be tuned to weight. If weight changes the stop doesn’t work. If the stop is adjustable 👍🏼 you could do it. I own a patent on an adjustable Extention stop and trust me, it adds cost to the shock and the OEMs will not pay for it. Hope that helps.
I mounted your limit straps on the front of my 2015 XP1000, after I got your dual rate kit (Amazing!). The fabric portion of the strap at the bottom was rubbing on the springs, so I had to add a couple washers to the mounting bolt to prevent this. Could that cause a problem? Work on those focus and sound issues for next time! Steve will need new tube socks after this episode! Straight ones please.

The reason Steve cut it that way is the spring was still on, nice work under those conditions!
Oh man. You got a point there. Steve! You killed it.

Yes, have had to adjust the straps many times. As long as you adjust them, they are good.

Do you need a strap if your tires never leave the ground? I ride mostly easy trails with the kids so I’m not jumping or going over whoops.

Is it possible to design a shock that hydraulically stops by using fluid to stop?. Eliminating the need for limit straps.

Straight Sox 😂😂. Couple washers are ok 👍🏼
Do you have limit strap kits to OG Maverick's ?? ,, we're still running them
i have done 1/2 inch increments
Should I disconnect sway bar links after installing my new straps
If you do slow speed rock crawling you can disconnect them for better articulation, anything over 30 mph keep them connected.
@@ShockTherapyllc thanks
I know I sound like a cheap skate but I’m on a budget. Are your limit straps ever on sale?
Probably not till Black Friday
“Good game”. 😆
So when will you come out with a limit strap for a strap on? 😜😜😂😂😂
