Just a disclaimer that if you're pretty much any kind of oral medication, you shouldn't ingest activated charcoal, it's *extremely* good at absorbing basically any substance in your digestive system so it can interfere with a wide range of medical treatments! Definitely look it up and if you're not sure, you can always substitute black food colouring or even squid ink like is used in the congee recipe!
Yup! Had this problem happen to my mom once with her meds because she heard activated charcoal was good for her from Facebook and decided to try it for a bit. Thankfully she only did it for a few days, felt ill after and stopped before asking her doctor if the charcoal was making her sick. There's a reason the stuff is used by poison control!
The idea of the void mayo being a very intense garlic mayo works so well, especially with the ingame text comparing its scent to burnt hair, that makes so much sense with a mayo that smells incredibly garlicky.

I actually went through the cookbook and compared the ingredients of each dish to the ingredients needed to make it in-game to see if they would include everything, and they almost all did! the only exceptions were either things that exist in SDV that don't exist in real life [e.g. 'Midnight Carp' is just carp], or more complicated recipes like Lucky Lunch, Strange Bun, and Seafoam Pudding. But even then, it was only ever just *one* ingredient or aspect that was clearly changed so things could taste good or are more easily accessible. for example, in-game the ingredients for Strange Bun are flour, void mayonnaise, and periwinkle (a type of sea snail). fully makes sense to sub lobster in for those, I didn't even know periwinkles were edible until I looked it up lol. extremely accurate, good-looking stuff, 10/10

Periwinkles are actual mollusks that are kinda hard to get, but there's very little meat, so another substitute could be crawfish or freshwater muscles. Costco lobster is too tasty for its price though.
Your videos are such a joy to watch! So laid back and relaxing, while also providing great solid feedback about the cookbooks you're reviewing. The pink cake is delicious, but came out a lot flatter than the picture in the book. (Not dense, i think they might have stacked more than two cakes.) I did use a nearly identical strawberry buttercream frosting recipe instead of the cream cheese frosting in the book. I don't like frosting enough to use an entire POUND of cream cheese. Tastes great fresh, even better 5-10 minutes after pulling a slice out of the freezer. Side note: i was shocked to learn that duck eggs are bigger than chicken eggs. I used XL chicken eggs because they were available.

Black garlic is much, much milder in the garlicky flavor and is sweet and has a flavor somewhat close to dark chocolate, like a hint of that flavor.
